AP Adriana Beach Resort boasts a bustling and convivial atmosphere, with an entertainment scene that captures the hearts of many guests, although some areas may feel neglected. The resort's location is a stone's throw from the beach, yet its seclusion might not suit everyone's taste. Staff members receive plaudits for their amiable and efficient service, which overshadows occasional slow bar service.
While the resort offers commendable amenities like pristine pools and easy beach access, some guests miss an indoor pool and note rooms could be enhanced. The cleanliness across the resort is consistently lauded, although feelings are mixed regarding the overall value provided.

Detailed Reviews
Good quality all round.
Very hard working, pleasant and professional staff. immaculate grounds set in a beautifully landscaped garden.
Varied and satisfying food, all strictly COVID secure and hygienic. The main restaurant is outstanding, serving some truly good and ambitious cooking. Outside mealtimes, the snacks are a bit lame though, best avoid the burnt out cheese toasties and burgers.
The resort seemed understaffed, but everything was so professionally managed, it wasn't a problem.
The guests are mostly French and German families, very well mannered and dignified. Never any unpleasantness, yobbery or drunkenness.
While it's true some of the rooms are somewhat tired looking, they are nevertheless perfectly clean and conveniently simple. Payment is required for the use of a safe. Only one water bottle is provided for the duration of the stay, to be topped up by guests from a water cooler at the bar. A wise move, cuts down on needless plastic use.
Great for sports, with clean and large pools, tennis, basketball, volleyball and the beach close by.
There was a guy who was a bit rude to us for entering the breakfast area 10 minutes too early. In our defence we explained the door was open and there was no signs notifying us of the opening time. Other than this slightly awkward experience, the staff were excellent despite being clearly overstretched. It seems there's a staffing shortage everywhere in the hospitality industry, this place is no exception.
This is a beachfront location, sort of. The beach is accessed by a steep, long and perilous flight of steps down the cliff face. Avoid flip flops while undertaking the journey. Definitely not to be attempted while inebriated.
The surrounding area seemed a bit rusty and barren. The nearest town is a 15 Euro Uber ride away. There's a poncy marina nearby at Villamoura, a dull and tedious place. Although the old town Albufurea is very interesting, seemed quite gritty and authentic.
Would strongly recommend this resort. 4/5

The hotel was lovely, clean, and had many covid rules in place to make everyone feel comfortable. We loved it and we're already planning to go back once the UK lets us back to Portugal!
The room was well appointed and looked like the pictures. Staff were very gracious - our first room smelt of cigarettes (despite being non-smoking) and the staff helped us move right away to a new room which was spotless. The rooms are nestled in large grounds which makes it feel less crowded than it probably actually was.
The restaurant can get crowded at peak times, but they have been very good at making sure each table is cleaned and prepped for new diners. Covid rules have masks inside and you get your own tongs to use at the buffet to prevent people touching all the same things, although the drink machines are communal. Food is quite good, lots of seafood and choices. You can reserve a place at the Grill Restaurant for a change of pace for dinner or just walk in for breakfast and lunch. Decent beer and wine with meals, cocktails available in the bar which can get slightly crowded but bartenders did a good job keeping up. Snack bar open between meals.
Pools were lovely, the main one tends to be a bit more crowded. The beach is stunning, and plenty of space to add your towel if the loungers are full. The grounds are well tended and very green, quite quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of resort areas. You can take a nice walk on the cliffside to nearby town of Vilamoura (45 min) or else take the free shuttles (although you need to sign up in advance) to Vilamoura or Albufeira. Alternately, free parking is available just outside the front gate, and it takes only about 20 min to drive to Albufeira or Vilamoura.
Evening entertainment tends to be focused a bit more toward families but we enjoyed it all the same. There was a kid's club as well, which was very busy and seemed to be popular with the kids! Various games, including boules, table tennis, volleyball, minigolf, and daily activities like aerobics and yoga for both kids and adults. Tennis and basketball courts, too, although we did not play as I believe you have to reserve and pay. There's a small shop at the resort selling various bits like towels, flipflops, snacks, souvenirs, etc.
There's information at the front desk about locations offering Covid tests near the hotel - very helpful.
Overall great trip, would definitely recommend. Can't wait to return.

Stayed here for four nights last week and overall it is a pleasant resort to stay at. Yes, it is remote, but that can be a good thing if you just want to relax by the pool for a week.
Staff were all friendly and willing to help with any questions we had, nothing was too much trouble.
Our room was in one of the annex buildings and was quite a distance from the main complex (around a quarter of a mile), but the young man who showed us to our room told us about a shortcut to save us from having to walk along the road. The room was very clean, although some of the fixtures and fittings looked as though they had been built badly. The cupboards did not line up, and the shower screen did not have a rubber seal along the bottom, so there was a gap of a couple of centimetres from the bottom of the screen to the tray. This meant that we had a flood of water in the bathroom after every shower, as water ran down the screen and straight out onto the floor. If you wish to use the room safe, you will need to pay a daily fee for the privilege, which is not something I have previously encountered and I feel that having this available for nothing should be a holiday standard.
Food in the restaurant was plentiful, and variable. Generally you could find something different to eat every night, although anything potato based appeared to be centred around chips or croquettes. The hot breakfast offering was not that hot in my experience, which led to me changing my food choice, and the toaster needs to be turned up as it took several run throughs with bread in order to get the right colour. Coffee from the machines was OK and far better than in some hotels I have stayed at, whereas there is no option for milk with your English breakfast tea.
If you wish to take advantage of the bus transfer to Albufeira or Vilamoura (they alternate daily), book it as early as possible the morning before as they regularly fill up.
Also, the grill is well worth booking for the evening, but again, book as early as possible (from 8.30) in the morning to secure your table. We had a lovely meal there, although service is unusual, as all courses appear to come in piecemeal at 10 minute intervals, which is not something I am used to.
Drinks are plentiful, but the cocktails are from a machine, are not very strong and seem to be laced in sugar. Wine is palatable at best from the bar, but vile from the restaurant. The beer is OK, but lively.
The major let down are the Public toilets by the restaurant and off reception, they don’t appear to be cleaned regularly enough for the amount of people on the resort, and this is the one thing that lets the hotel down. There is a very strong odour when you enter them, and should really be addressed.
Overall, the hotel stay was enjoyable, it just needs a few things addressing by the management to make it even better.

I would 100% recommend this hotel, we were in a superior room which was clean and had all you would want, the mattresses for my liking were too hard and perhaps they could look at renting toppers which we have always found useful in other hotels. The grounds are beautiful and very green, the hotel is exceptionally clean . All the staff were extremely friendly and courteous and the entertainment team work extremely hard.
We found the food to be really good quality and it didn’t seem like lunch was rehashed to dinner always a good choice and meat and fish is constantly being cooked fresh.
We booked for the Grill and enjoyed the food but felt we were rushed with the service.
Overall a great experience and I will return in the future.
On our last day whilst waiting for our Taxi to the Airport we noticed an elderly Gentleman looking for his Wife who had wandered off, I spoke to reception and they immediately got a staff member to drive him around the resort to help find her, which they did thankfully, exceptional service.

We have just returned from a wonderful week at Adriana Beach Club.
We had a wonderful week there and it is our second time at this resort and it keeps getting better.
Considering the situation we are in with COVID, they have set the hotel brilliantly.
We were worried it wouldn’t be as good as last time, but they were great.
The all inclusive restaurant was still open and they gave individual tongs to everyone to ensure that there was minimal contact.
The evening entertainment was still on and it was great. The beat thing about the holiday were the daytime activities for adults and children. Gary was great and my husband was involved in all of the adult activities.
The stand out guy was Cesar who looked after the kids in the club each day. He was amazing and it was his first week doing it. My children loved him and he really did make the kids holiday for them.
An ansolute wonderful holiday, and such a shame Portugal have moved to amber. The beaches were so quiet and the things they had in place for covid were brilliant.
We will definitley be back.

We absolutely loved staying here at Adriana Beach Hotel Resort. We stayed in two modern upgraded suites near to the amenities of the hotel. The pool area was lovely with restaurant, snack area and pool bar nearby. The animation team worked really hard even through COVID to ensure everyone was having a great time. We especially enjoyed the 'Latino dance' and other music they played during the daytime.
The grounds of the hotel are beautiful, close to a lovely beach and nature all around the hotel. Lots of beautiful birds to see and the gardens are kept in immaculate condition. I enjoyed seeing all the different trees, cacti and flowers.
The food in the restaurant was excellent and suited us as as a family with a range of dietary needs. The Pizza in particular was AMAZING! We really enjoyed the choice of different cuisine in the evening. In the restaurant we really appreciated the clean plates and cutlery packs on the table with individual tongs to pick up food in the Buffett. We would love to see this also being used beyond COVID. An excellent clean practice!
We would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff at the hotel for being so warm, friendly and polite during our stay. We really appreciated how friendly and helpful you all were especially in the dining room.

I visited with 6 other friends and while the rooms were good (they look like they've been refurbished recently) other areas of the hotel could use some TLC. The spa area had one sauna and the steam room out of order. There were also children using the facilities as the back entrance means they could walk in freely. The jacuzzi was a tight squeeze (the 7 of us could just about fit in together but meant no one else could use it). They seem to be making improvements to other area of the hotel (the kiosk and hairdresser were closed for this) so hopefully the spa will follow. The food could be much improved though. Breakfast was the best meal and they also need more clearly marked vegetarian options that are truly vegatarian (there seemed to be ham in the vegstsrian pasta one evening). If you're a vegan there is no warm selection of food apart from chips. This hotel is right on the beach with a set of stairs that take you right down to the sand from the back of the property and the outside pool is picturesque (if freezing at this time of year).

The resort is big with many buildings of rooms surrounded by greenery. The gardens and the pine forest are very well maintained and although there are many people you will never have the feeling of being suffocated.
People who complain about the distance of some rooms from the reception and swimming pools or main areas are really exaggerated: taking a walk surrounded by greenery is extremely pleasant and golf cars are always made available (except from 0 to 8 am in case you must check out early in the morning). All activities take place around the main pool and the main restaurant and bar. However, we asked for a room in a quieter area, without animation, near to the second smaller pool and the two “a la carte” restaurants: “O Celeiro” is good, , “the grill” absolutely to be avoided, charred or undercooked meat and charcoal inhalations and poor quality of meat. The entertainment and restaurant/bar staff is excellent; very professional and attentive to take care of the client. Bar of the second pool O Celeiro really very nice, nice staff young but at the same time very professional and friendly like the German girl with beautiful blue eyes and always a smile.
A special thanks to the animation staff who have always taken care to my three kids and involved them in the all activities despite their age; always friendly, smiling and professional. Good cuisine and service; we never had to queue. Beautiful private beach, one of the best if not the best of the area.
What to improve? Glasses are too small, and it is absurd to have only one glass per person, so it is impossible to drink water and wine at the same time.
Many sunbeds and umbrellas were broken. Rooms to be refreshed.
Conclusion: perfect holiday; recommended; we will come back.

What to improve? Glasses are too small, and it is absurd to have only one glass per person, so it is impossible to drink water and wine at the same time.
Many sunbeds and umbrellas were broken. Rooms to be refreshed.
Conclusion: perfect holiday; recommended; we will come back.

Arrived at 12.00pm but didn't get our room until 3.30pm and that was only because we complained . Found reception staff not very helpful . Room was a large superior which wasn't large or superior and the fact that it was painted dark blue made it dark and dingy . Most of the sunbeds were broken and not cleaned and floor doing pool was also very dirty . Gardens were nice and well kept . Restaurant was good and food lovely with plenty of choice but had to use same plate for different courses . There were supposed to be 3 themed restaurants on the complex but only one was open the grill bar . I can honestly say that it was possibly one of the worst meals I have ever had with the meat being absolutely cremated . We all came away hungry and I am not a fusssy eater . We found a nice little quieter pool on the complex with its own bar unfortunately the bar was very low on stock and never re stocked so had very limited choice of drinks probably only beer and the last day ofour holiday it didn't even open until after lunch . The main pool bar was well stocked and a good selection of drinks. The bar staff on this bar were nice and friendly . In the evening after dinner there weren't enough tables and chairs for the amount of people staying on the complex and we found we had to sit indoors . The entertainment in the early evening was good as live music but later on was poor . We had a good holiday as we made the most of it but felt that we didn't get what we paid for as we expected a 4* hotel with views of the beach ( which you can't see from the complex ) and a large superior room with 3 themed restaurants intead we got a 3* with no views basic dark room understocked bars broken sunbeds and dirty pool area .

Dear Carol, Thank you for rating and reviewing your stay with us. We regret not having been able to meet and exceed your expectations during your holidays in our resort. It seems there may have been a slight confusion regarding the facilities offered at the resort, i.e. there are only 2 themed restaurants, none of our rooms have sea view, photographs of our rooms are available online. We thank you for the feedback regarding the sunbeds, Grill restaurant and entertainment and will review these comments internally to see where we can improve on the short and long term. Kind regards, Marloes Homan Service Quality Manager

We were so looking forward to going to this resort but we’re disappointed from the time we arrived. We’d left our home in the Uk at 1:30am and arrived at the resort at 11:45am. We were advised that our room wasn’t ready and checkin was 2pm, which was slightly annoying as we were exhausted but not a major problem. At 2pm we returned to reception to be told our room was still not ready but would only be another 15 minutes. After numerous times returning to ask about our room and getting frustrated we finally received the key at 3pm!!. We were not the only ones waiting to get into their rooms there was quite a few others.
When we finally got to our room it was very very basic and definitely not 4 star. Everything looked tired and crappy. My fitted sheet had a lovely orange stain on it…delightful.
However, we thought ok the rooms not great but we won’t be spending much time in there but this was not the only disappointing part of our holiday.
The food was dreadful, the “Chefs Meat” filled me with dread, what was it? Black pudding, Brussels sprouts! It was dire. They never had special nights like other hotels we’d stayed in, it felt like we should of been grateful for whatever they served up. We are not fussy eaters but most nights, lunch times we struggled to find anything nice to eat, other than the salad bar. Breakfast wasn’t much better so we ended up having croissants every day.
There were 2 pools but as we were located at the far end of the resort we would go to the smaller quieter pool, which we enjoyed. Except they never cleaned the tiles around the poolside, it was sticky and dirty. It was never swept, the only thing staff seemed to do was collect the plastic cups. I’d say 70% of the sun loungers were broken we’d be told this was the same at the bigger pool.
Staff were not friendly, they all looked like they didn’t want to be there, apart from the entertainment team, who were excellent. The hotels only asset.
We feel misled by the location of the resort as it read it was in walking distance of bars and shops, this is not the case at all. It is very remote.
We got ubers to Villamoura which cost about €15 one way, we only did this one evening as it was too expensive to do too many times.
Finally I would not recommend this hotel, it was definitely not 4 star and not value money.

Plenty of photos on the website.
One Twin bed
One sofa bed
Be aware that access to these rooms is via stairs.
I don't think you can hire a mobility scooter but if you ask at reception they can arrange for the staff to transport you in one of their "golf carts". The hotel areas are mostly flat but some of the rooms are a few minutes walk to the central area and the access paths do have an incline
We booked with jet2 and we received free transport and entry as part of the holiday to zoomarina. I would honestly get an uber as it was chaos at arrival loads of coaches of people.
