We're Marriott Presidental Vacation Club members and were a little reticent when booking The Four Season Fairways Resort through Interval International. Even before arriving at the resort we were impressed by the interest they took in making our arrangements in advance. Upon arrival we were even more impressed with the service we received on checking in. Although not members, we were treated as special guests and every detail of the complex and activities was explained. The property is beautifully laid out and their map is easy to follow. We had a two bedroom villa with a pool in front which was within easy walking distance to all the facilities. The villa had everything needed for a perfect "semi cooking" holiday but we only used it for a couple of grilled meals on the patio since there are great restaurants on site and near by. The gym, tennis courts, pool and sauna were well maintained. The on site store was helpful but larger markets were just a short drive to the Quinta do Lago shopping center. Easy parking in front of the villa. Only draw back for handicapped visitor is the number of steps required to get to some locations. We had a fantastic week and are looking forward to returning to this excelent resort.

We have been members for several years and just experienced another great two weeks in Villa 104. All on one level with just a couple of steps from the adjoining parking space which as my wife used a mobility scooter is perfect. Fairways even provide a disabled parking sign for the duration. First week we were joined by Son and Granchildren, aged 3, 9 and 11. Made full use of Vivo Bistro for breakfasts (great service from Julia) and also the speciality evenings. Used the takeaway service a couple of evenings and enjoyed a couple of BBQ's on the terrace by your own pool. Facilities and staff are all geared up to provide the perfect family experience. Time spent at the clubhouse pool area was very enjoyable with the service from Vivo Bistro throughout the day and great interaction from Antonio the Lifeguard. Second week was chill out time for us and as good as the first week was for the younger generation, we had no trouble enjoying the facilities at a quieter and slower pace. The new A la carte menu at the Amara restaurant has a greater selection allowing plenty of choice for a second evening. The live jazz duet add to provide the perfect ambiance. Can't wait to return in October.

Just home from a weeks stay here over the Christmas break. Cannot be faulted in any way. We were in a recently refurbished villa, no 120. Everything about it was lovely, fresh colours and new furniture, all 5 star standard. We had 3 meals in the restaurant and the Algarve Night was my favourite, the king prawns and sole were absolutely superb. Not cheap, but worth every penny. Stay were very helpful and friendly. I had a problem with my safe, which was faulty. The matter was dealt with very quickly, even though it was 11.00pm. The safe needed to be opened asap, as my passports were in it and we had an early flight the following morning. All in all, one of the best holidays for a long time. By the way, the weather was stunning with blue skies every day and up to 21 degrees. We used VDL for our car hire, highly recommended. The car was very new, with sat nav as standard and there was no trying to sell me insurance that I didn't want, everything was included in the basic price.

We had the pleasure of staying here last week. The villas are spacious and newly updated. We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa with private pool. There was a large terrace with bbq, table and chairs, and loungers. The kitchen had all the necessities but you should bring or buy a few extra things like paper towels, dish cloths. If you plan on cooking in the villa, maybe a few extra serving bowls/dishes would be nice but we managed well for 6 adults! There is a gym and heated pools. The bar area is very pretty.
Speaking of the bar… one of the highlights was the Master Mixologist, Rul. We took advantage of a couple of the free classes—Margarita and Gin and Toni. Rul is very knowledgeable and obviously passionate about what he does and at shows! If you are interested in the science and history of spirits, Rul is your guy! Or if you just want a top notch drink? Rul is still your guy!
We had dinner twice in the restaurant and the service and food were fantastic. In fact all the staff at this establishment that we encountered were friendly, professional and very pleasant. No matter how many questions we had, they made us feel that they were there for whatever we needed. Very nice and much appreciated!
The area around is well known for golf and beaches, very pretty. You will love your stay here.

Overall pleased with resort but overshadowed by the resort response to the huge forest fire that engulfed a major part of Quinta do Lago on the 12th July. The hotel failed to communicate anything to guests at the time of the fire (the early hours) and no one on reception appeared to know what was going on. The smoke was unbearable and we used wet towels to block the windows. The next morning we felt we had no choice but to leave the resort. At this time the resort simply told guests to ‘stay in their rooms with doors and windows shut’ which was ridiculous advice considering the fire actually reached within 1/2km of the property. We booked another hotel an hour west away from the smoke and fire for our final 3 nights. The hotel offered nothing in any kind of compensation (aside from waiving the €5 euro room service charge…) we returned to the resort to settle our €600 food and drink bill on the last day (where it still reeked of smoke) and had no words of apology or any kind of financial gesture towards a future stay or towards our bill. Very surprising.

Dear Neal W, Thank you for your feedback, which we thank you for. I am very pleased to know that generally you were pleased with the resort and our services. Regarding the incident with the fire, it all started in the early hours of the morning (about midnight on the 12th) close to Faro Airport and, at that time we were certain that there was no reason for panic, confident that the authorities had it under control. Even though the fire reached the Quinta do Lago area early morning, we never felt in danger. At all times we kept in contact with the local authorities as well as with other resorts, constantly monitoring the situation. Our top priority is always the security of our customers. We continued to monitor the situation throughout the morning and day, maintaining contact with the authorities and following their guidelines. On occasions like these, we must cooperate with the decision-makers in charge of any evacuation order. We followed the recommendations of the authorities that there was no reason to evacuate the resort and our clients were never at any kind of risk. I personally spoke with a few of our clients that were very concerned as to why we were not evacuating, and I reassured them that we were in constant contact and aligned with authorities. Our emergency plan outlines both the evacuation plan and the emergency response procedures that should be implemented if needed. Having said this, in situations like the one we witnessed on the 13th of July, it´s extremely important to be fully coordinated with the authorities to avoid panic. We are aware that some of our guests preferred to leave the resort and spend the day elsewhere, but by the end of the day, everyone had returned. Both restaurants were very busy that evening, serving more than 200 meals, including takeaway service to the villas. I was present the whole time and a few of our clients approached me to thank us for our guidelines, our calmness and advice throughout the day. Although all of our actions and concerns during the day and night were fully focused on the safety of our guests and our resort, we apologise if they were not to your satisfaction. So glad we took the decision to get here for 3 wonderful weeks from early October. We felt safer at Fairways and surrounds than in our home city, with routine but non invasive temperature checks at the security gate, masks sanitisers and properly positioned seating in the clubhouse. We got a lovely warm welcome back and our villa had the Clean and Safe certificate, and had been upgraded and refurbished since our last visit. Find I. The clubhouse and in particular the fine dining at Amara was excellent. Plenty to do and the weather glorious - so lucky.

A delightful stay in a place that really is the height of luxury.
Food, villa and staff were exceptional. Golf courses all within 3 mins walk. I thoroughly recommend Amara restaurant.
Couple of wee things:
1. I tripped up on a wire that secures hire bikes. It caused me a bad fall. The bikes themselves are unsightly and degrade the tone. But they pose a real health and safety issue with cables for security.
2. Clubhouse restaurant and bar lacks leadership. Too often our food was cold because staff never knew which table it was to be divered to. One night we were told our table needed to be returned after 90 mins...but it then took 60 minutes for.our starters to arrive. On another night there was no record of our booking.
Staff are lovely and ever so apologetic but you just felt they needed someone to pull the strings a bit more.
Some positives...
1. Amara restaurant is as good as it gets. Food is exquisite. 2. Accommodation is of the highest standard and cleaning is daily by the most dedicated team of ladies. 3. Reception desk and golf desk are so helpful and accommodating.

Have been staying at Fairways for 18 years, it is a luxury resort that feels like home in a wonderful location with amazing staff. I have just returned from 2 weeks where you are made to feel very secure with the new protocols including temperature checking every time you re enter the resort. It was well worth the14 days of self isolation now needed!

We have been going to Fairways for a couple of years and are soon to go again. The Resort is delightful, accommodation is spotless and the staff are keen to help in any way they can. There is lots to do in and around the resort, Golf, Horse Riding, Go Karting, Sailing or just lazing on the beach. The resort has all you would expect from such an establishment, Pools, Gym, Restaurants and Bars. Food and drink at the resort is excellent and good value. Outside there is an endless choice of Restaurants caterign for all tastes. Becoming a member gives you further discount at numerous shops, restaurants and activities locally. I cannot recommend this little oasis enough. Booking wihtout membership can be tricky as they get booked in advance very quickly, I see this as a good thing as it says alot about how good the resort is.

Hello, Guests can use the tennis courts at Four Seasons Fairways free of charge, but it needs to pre-booked with reception. In case of the need to rent rackets/balls there is fee of €6 per player for an hour's use. Fairways' members enjoy a discount.
For the Driving Range at Quinta do Lago (it is the closest to Fariways, you will need to pay € 7,50 for a baskedt of balls (aprox. 55 practice balls) at the Driving Range. They also rent a club at € 5 which you can change as many times as you wish during the practice. Four Seasons Fairways Golf Shop have some used clubs you can use for free should you wish to pick one up before heading to the driving range itself.

Good morning, both resorts are very similar on offer, however at Fairways all our villas offer either a private pool or a jacuzzi on the terrace, as well as a BBQ area.

We’ve not had experience of a two bedroom villa but all seem to have plenty of outside space for sun loungers, there’s an outside dining table at each villa. On the Fairways website - or rental website - there are plans and outside area plans for each villa. Hope that helps!
