We booked the Ria Park via last minute.com only to find it shut on arrival. There was one person working and we were told we had been reallocated to this hotel. Not sure whose at fault here, hotel or the agent. Off we went to this hotel wondering what we would find. We were delighted to have stayed here. Lovely pool area with amazing views, delicious breakfast again with amazing pools, fantastic golden sand beach and amazing staff. The hotel has sun-beds, towels and bottles of water on the beach for guests all included in your stay. We stumbled across this.
The decor throughout the hotel is very grand. The rooms are a little tired but are spacious with good sized beds. We don’t spend much time in the room anyway.
The gym is well equipped and you need to book it as it’s only one guest/family allowed in it at any one time.
You access the beach via a bridge over the estuary.
The hotel and surrounding restaurants are very expensive. Bovino steakhouse was amazing. We stumbled across a restaurant (O’rios, something like that) that was a fraction of the price with amazing seafood! From the beach, we walked approx 30-40 minutes(left, with your back to hotel. Towards airport) and there were some restaurants over there.
There is a little beach bar just off the bridge and they serve amazing pina colada’s and good baguettes for a light/cheaper lunch. We tried to eat at Gigi’s at the end of the bridge but staff were rude and it was hectic and noisy.
We had dinner twice at the hotel. Food and service both excellent. They have a kids menu.
Brilliant stay and would highly recommend.

Lovely mini break to Portugal over the Easter weekend. A lovely hotel with a fabulous pool and great location. My 2 young daughters 7 and 4 loved the lady in the the kids club they were asking to go back every day. Pool service was brilliant. There was a lady at breakfast one day that said we weren’t allowed to get a take away cup for our coffee and that we needed to purchase one from the pool bar. This was rather ridiculous as every other day it hadn’t been a problem. They allowed us a free late check out as our flight wasn’t until 6pm. The food in the restaurant was fabulous every night. The hotel was maybe a little quiet some light entertainment in the evenings maybe in the form of a musician and maybe could have catered a little more for the children with us being Easter. Easter eggs were left in the rooms for the children which was a nice touch. On checkout we were told we were being charged a ‘waiting charge’ for the pick up at the airport. This definitely wasn’t the case as we landed 40mins earlier so just double check bills on checking out. Overall a lovely hotel but maybe not a must for families with children.

We have been to the Quinta do Lago Hotel a good few ties and know the area well, having had a share of a house in Four Seasons Fairways for 11 years. The hotel has a prime position overlooking the Ria Formosa and the sea beyond. The service is truly five star. My Hertz hire car was a no show and the hotel stepped into the breach immediately and organised a much nicer convertible for the same price. Restaurant reservations were made quickly and efficiently as were lateral flow tests in the hotel prior to flying back to the UK. Any criticisms? Only one minor one. Although our bathroom had been refurbished with a wet room walk in shower, the bedroom still has no spare power points without unplugging something. And the plug we did find to use and plug a USB hub into turned off when we left the room and removed the keycard. Come on guys - it's 2021. That is easily rectified and I hope will be when we return. Otherwise a lovely stay.

For an expensive 5 star hotel we were quite disappointed with our stay. The hotel is in a great location overlooking a protected tidal lagoon which is full of fish and birds. Room was very clean and comfortably furnished but the air conditioning was extremely noisy (both in our room and on our balcony) and although we asked it to be looked at more than once it remained noisy throughout. Breakfast was good with plenty of options but it seemed if you weren’t a regular returning guest you were way down the queue for service. The pool was lovely and clean and the 1 pool attendant worked hard to give everyone beds and towels but lots of guests placed personal belongings on beds then disappeared for hours even though it said in hotel literature that this was against hotel policy. If you went to the pool late afternoon - early evening it was still open for use but all staff were gone and no towels were available. On several occasions (we stayed a week), we came back from a day out and our room hadn’t been serviced, we got ready and went out for our evening meal and it was done on our return but we were never sure if it was just combined with evening turn down. The grounds appeared to be a little unloved and undergoing some changes but although there were piles of stones waiting to be spread nothing seemed to progress during our stay. Nothing the hotel can do about this point but it is worth mentioning, the hotel sits right on the flight path of Faro airport (with the start of it’s runway only a couple of miles away), this is now a busy airport and depending on time you either have aircraft coming in to land or taking off right above your head. Would we stay again, yes if a bargain came up but not at their current prices.

Really lovely hotel, excellent service at every level, overall a fabulous place to stay. We had 4 nights at the end of February, everything about the hotel was very well run, professional, civilised and peaceful.
Great food at breakfast & dinner, lovely salads and fresh fish. Bedrooms clean neat tidy and everything you needed, comfy bed, good shower & WiFi.
The location is good as it's one of the last buildings before you reach the coast so scenic views over the dunes to the sea, which is quite unusual for anywhere on the Quinta do Lago estate.
Absolutely recommended.

I think the title is quite self explanatory, but I can still say a few more words about the excellency of Quinta do Lago Hotel. We always feel extremely welcome and our stay is delightful every time. Perfect to relax, with an absolutely perfect location walking distance from the beach, extremely kind and thoughtful personnel on all departments, beautiful surroundings, great food and service at the restaurants.. The breakfast is so full of variety and all products are very fresh. Overall, there is a full attention to details and to the client making this hotel a must go to every year.

Year after year this hotel keeps up a very high standard and so we keep returning. Great location, quiet but accessible, lovely board walk down to the beach which is never very busy at this location. Lots of great restaurants hidden away nearby - the hotel will give you good recommendations, manage your bookings and get you great tables. Staff are outstanding - helpful, polite, well informed and friendly. Cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. Seen the best sun sets I've ever seen in the world from the open balcony bar. Pre-dinner drinks on the balcony are a must. Great outside breakfast area and pool. Highly recommend Victor for a massage. Great golf courses nearby......I could go on!

What an experience...
Extremely polite and kind staff showing very high levels of professionalism, excellent food, very comfortable and extremely well kept facilities, very quiet atmosphere and a very good place to have lunch and dinner as an alternative to all the restaurants that are usually full in the Summer.
Never tasted anything like that.
It's expensive but I recognize it's worth every cent.

Having been to Portugal a few times we thought we would look at staying in this area for a last minute sunshine break.
Loved the area although quiet and more laid back -just what we wanted!
The hotel staff are the pinnacle to this hotel from the housekeeping to the restaurant staff, they were friendly and approachable and always with a smile.
The room we stayed in was very clean and we enjoyed the balcony area to watch the fabulous sunsets !
We had tea and coffee facilities, bathrobes, slippers, and free water.
We didn’t eat dinner at the hotel so can’t comment but the breakfast was fabulous with a great choice. My omelettes were the best I’ve had !
The beach is a ten minute walk away via the bridge, ponte da Quinta do lago.
We also visited Bold Octopus, Izzy’s ,The Shack, Bovino, Casa Velha and Gigi’s for meals. All highly recommended but strongly advised to book ahead in the high season !
We also visited Quinta Shopping Centre enjoying a meal at the Cheeky Pup and spent another a day visiting Vilamoura and Quarteria via an uber.
An enjoyable break and stay at this 5 star service hotel even though we are not golf enthusiasts!
We enjoyed afternoons around the pool although on our last afternoon I’m sure there were a few ‘ unwanted guests ‘ who didn’t appear to be staying at the hotel. (I would suggest to management a system to check who are staying/ paying guests as it looks like non residentials can access this exclusive hotel from the public footpath )

I booked an accessible room for my husband 60th birthday ( I’m the disabled one). I emailed the hotel ahead at the end of March. At 22.30 we are still sitting in bar area awaiting an accessible room. It is the 19 th of May and the only accessible room is booked out to another person on May 23rd. We have been told we are unable to have an accessible room even though it is available for the next 4 days. I have motor neurone disease and I’m unable to get up off an ordinary toilet seat, I need a walk in shower and to be able to manoeuvre my wheelchair around the bathroom. The manager , apparently on his way back from Lisbon , has told the receptionist not to put us in the accessible room!! He wants us to take a non accessible room. Not happy. Happy 60 th birthday to my husband!!!!! Not what you expect from a 5* hotel

Response from Quinta do Lago Hotel , Diretor-Geral at Hotel Quinta Do Lago
Responded 22 May 2024
Dear Mrs Harvey, We are sorry that your vacations were not up to the ideal start. The reservation we received did not request a room with accessibility features, and we misunderstood your email request as wanting a room close to the public areas, which we were careful to assign on arrival. The room we have with full accessibility features was booked during your stay, which is why we were looking for a confortable solution that would be fitting for your entire stay, which we had availble the following morning and that, we understood, was perfect for your needs. Again, we are sorry for the imperfect start to your holiday and I hope we will be exceeding your expectations during the remainder of your stay. Our sincere apologies for this unfortunate misunderstanding and, rest assured, we have already further trained our staff to better understand requests of this nature. With kind regards, - Daniel Alexandre do Adro
