This motel is convenient because it is directly across the street from the airport. We arrived in Tahiti late so it was nice to just be able to walk over and get some rest. The walk is only about 5-10 minutes max. There is a steep hill to walk up so I recommend bringing rolling luggage. Check in was quick and easy. The rooms are very basic but again, it's a great spot for a quick overnight stay. The a/c is turned off in the room prior so when you first arrive it is warm. They do offer breakfast but my husband and I walked to a grocery store nearby to grab some snacks so I'm not sure how breakfast was. It looked like a standard hotel breakfast. (We were here February 2020 pre-covid) Late review but I'm hoping anything can help for when they open back up.

We just returned from Tahiti and used the Airport Motel for 1 night stopover on our way out to Raiatea. Got in late, left early. The people who complain about the steep walk from the airport, yes, it is a steep walk up stairs and a driveway, so if you have a lot of heavy luggage, you might want to grab a cab. My 66 yo wif and I (68), carried our 2 bags, each weighing about 40 lbs each way. It was hard, but doable. Our bags were soft duffles with no rollers. The rooms are basic, and know that the AC will not be on when you arrive. You have to turn it on, then wait about 5 minutes for it to actually come on. It then takes 45 minutes or so to get the room comfortable. I would definitely stay again as a quick stopover, but next time we are bringing rolling luggage.

We arrived late in the evening on Air Tahiti Nui, and planned an early Ferry ride the next day to Moorea. This Motel had a good value, and convenient location up the hill from the airport. Walk across the airport parking lot, up the stairs, across the street, then uphill to the gate. Or, take the 5-minute taxi ride. Basic but clean accommodations with free WIFI and air conditioning.

We landed in Papeete and had booked in at the Airport Hotel. We were told “it’s just opposite of the airport - 5 minute walk”. What they didn’t mention is that it is across the street and up a series of hills. With 4 bags and 2 backpacks to schlep, it was a daunting task. Once in the hotel, we had to yet again drag our bags up a flight of stairs to get to the lift. Swell. The rooms were what you’d expect for a budget motel.. with a free view of the driveway wall thrown in. The bed was ok but we had one paper thin sheet and no duvet. The A/C initially didn’t work but later we realized it was set to 30° so the room was scorching. It did cool down after a while thankfully. The fridge didn’t work either as we brought a bunch of perishable items and wanted them kept cold. We took a taxi to the airport - which was a 3 minute ride for $16 - which, while expensive, I highly recommend over walking with your bags.

Staff Juliette was the rudest, most patronising and unhelpful person I have met in French Polynesia. Generally, Tahiti Airport Motel does not fulfill any of the airport-related services you would expect. Tahiti Airport Motel offers strictly no flexibility regarding small airport-related services. For instance using the WiFi in the reception or a friend leaving their suitcase in your room for an afternoon before their flight. These services are obviously a key part of their business; but they will see any request as annoyance. There are even signs on the tables at the reception stating you are not allowed to wait there *more than a few minutes*. Trust me – the proximity to the airport is not worth the bad vibes. Do not ruin the beginning or end of your trip there. Look up *Fare Suisse Tahiti* where we stayed a night. Staff is wonderful, shuttle back and forth the airport is free whatever the time of your flight, you will be at walking distance from the centre for restaurants (there is no option at walking distance around the airport), and the owner brings fresh bread to guests every morning – and all that is ~25% cheaper than the motel.
