We arrived on March 4th for a 14 night all inclusive stay booked through TUI. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the airport and we were fortunate to be transferred by taxi rather than minibus as we appeared to be the only TUI guests arriving on our flight. As you approach the hotel don't get put off by the exterior, some guests described it as an office block, a multi-storey carpark or a prison, however when you enter the interior has a light and airy ambience and feels very relaxing and modern. We had a landward facing room which was quite spacious and had a lovely view of the mountains especially in the early morning light, unfortunately because it was north facing we didn't get any sun on the balcony, however on the plus side there was less wind. Speaking of wind I understand that Tenerife can get quite windy, so be warned. The pool was heated and was one of our highlights being able to have an after breakfast swim, you could pay to go into the sauna if you wanted and there's also massages available. There are plenty of sun loungers around the pool however even though officially you cannot "reserve" the loungers, many guests did so which I think is quite selfish. The restaurant has a pleasant view of the beach, we especially enjoyed sitting in there at lunchtimes with a glass of (very nice) Cava watching the windsurfers while contemplating what to have for lunch. Speaking of food, this I know is a very subjective area as everyone's opinion on food differs widely and I guess even if you dined at your favourite restaurant 3 times a day for 14 days, your palate might get a bit jaded. We thought the food was very good and worthy of the hotel's 4* rating compared to other hotels we have stayed in while holidaying in the Canaries. We particularly liked the soups, salads and the potatoes grown on Canaries. There was always a good selection of different meats and fish on offer each day along with paella and local dishes. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a corner suite during the last few days of our stay, this was due to the Coronavirus restrictions which meant less and less people were staying in the hotel. This was a real treat for us and we would definitely recommend one of these suites if available. My heart goes out not only to the staff and management of the hotel but to the rest of the people of Tenerife as well who are all facing a very uncertain future. Despite this the staff still tried their best to make our holiday as good as they could possibly make it in the hope that we will return in better times. Sue and I wish Vicky and the management team as well as the rest of the staff the best of luck for the future and hope to see you all again next year?

Arrived 10th March for 11 nights, reception was very cheerful and helpful, drink a nice touch, suite was spacious and very clean, it is an all suite hotel. Food was top class the selection was extensive if you couldn't find something to your taste, which would be doubtful, you had only to ask and if they could supply they would. The staff were magnificent, this was obvious when shutdown came their response was superb. The news of shutdown came on the Monday morning, we were not allowed outside and should spend as much time in our suite as possible. The restaurant continued to produce quality food and the bar was restricted to cardboard cups but it didn't affect the service, it seems unfair to name any individual but I must mention Mar my amigo. Overall if you want the nightlife with discos all night this is not for you, if you are looking for a relaxing break where people talk to each other I couldn't recommend it more. Pleasant walk into town (when allowed) El Medano is a lovely little town with a lovely beach. Would I go back again, definitely. My thanks to the manager and all his staff for an enjoyable time under difficult circumstances. Hope to see you in the future.

Sadly we booked in on Saturday 14th March when the lockdown had begun , uninformed by BA. Like many of the remaining guests we had to make new arrangements to return home as soon possible. I wish to highly commend David on reception in particular, for all the help he provided during our stay , he went over and above expectations to assist us . In the restaurant all the staff were pleasant and helpful particularly Carla who always had a beautiful smile despite the crisis and concerns over the forthcoming closure of the hotel . The cleaner kept our room clean and tidy throughout. Thank you for looking after us , sadly we did not have the opportunity of exploring the area .

We stayed at the Arenas Del Mar sadly as the the lock down occurred because of the Covid-19. The first 5 days were as normal, we walked into the local town El Madano. The walk was along the beach following an easy path, and took around 20 minutes. The town is quiet, but with lots of cafes, and restaurants. The beach area at the far end of the town is great to watch the surfers, wind surfers and kite surfers. Once the lock down happened after 5 days we were restricted to the hotel. The food was great at every meal and we thought there was a good variety, especially in the evening. Under trying circumstances the staff looked after us, and we really appreciated that. I hope the hotel along with everything else recovers after this global crisis. As the hotel is located near the airport expect some aircraft noise, although it won't spoil your stay.
