We liked the concept itself, but some things were not planned thoroughly. I.e. the cottages with a view might not have a good view, so you should ask for a good one. Luckily we got such. It was a pleasant experience to see Järvisydän once, but we are not sure if we will go again. It was pretty expensive, and there’s nothing too remarkable. At least for a Finn, to be exact. And for those coming from other countries, these buildings don’t represent Finnish traditional building types and culture. The dinner was good but rather expensive. Breakfast was quite OK. Avoid the wine tasting; it’s like a comedy. The activities at the lake might be the best part here, and the spa is unique and worth trying. Enormous crowd at the front desk. And please, remember to ask for an invoice (we only got the terminal receipt).…
Visit here first time and i had high expectations because this is very expensive place!! So I was with kids and the first night we stayed suite and the smell was awful!! There was indoor air problems!! I think there was mold in the bathroom!!my son has asthma so he had some symptoms!:/ We change the room but they didn’t give any compensation for this big problem!! When we paid the room they didn’t find at first our gift card and they want much money! After awhile everything was fine again but I don’t understand this confusion about this level place! So this was a big disappointment for us! Not coming again!
We really liked the plce. The hotel room in the main building was really nice, personal with unconventional interior. The only negative aspect was poor sound insulation to the neighbouring room. The breakfasts and dinners were very nice, we especially liked the Kotaravintola dinner. The spa built inside a rock was really awesome. Very nice in winter conditions - we will return in summer.
The Spa with it's interior is special, nice atmosphere and nice details. The only small minus the normality of saunas. Better for a romantic getaway than a family vacation. Hotel clean and quiet. Lunch food is nicely served, offering the usual flavors without unforgettable surprises. All in all, a nice place if you want the usual with great details. Works once, twice ???
We stayed in a hillside villa and our expectations were quite high. The interior looked great, but there were some disappointments, like the rooms didn’t have blackout curtains. The blankets were also too thin. Outdoor jacuzzi on the terrace would have been a nice touch. The spa has also nice deadwood and stone interior, but there wasn’t any proper jacuzzi and the swimming area is very small and the water too cold. There are several saunas but unfortunately the landscape sauna was not open. The highlight of the spa was the outdoor cold water pool. The downside was that on womens’ side there was only two functioning warm showers and the dressing room was very cramped. We had festive dinner on the mezzanine, but unfortunately the service was very unprofessional and the wine menu inadequate and food (duck with oat risotto) bland and cold. The event area was hot like in a sauna. The other evening we went to neighbouring Kuru Resort and had a fine dine experience. We had sunny weather and enjoyed the activities and scenery. The breakfast buffet was diverse but glutein free offering was poor. Overall I would say the environment of Järvisydän has lots of potential but details need improvement. Everything was also overpriced.…
We stayed here for one night on one of the boats with a wonderful view of the frozen lake. We went out with the brilliant guide Heikki on a snow sleigh to the snowy scenery of Linnansaari National Park. We had a walk in the woods and then cooked sausages over the fire while learning about Finnish culture and wildlife. We'd love to come back here in the summer for the summer activities on the lake! We had an amazing 3-course meal for dinner at the restaurant, the only complaint was the waitresses weren't very friendly there. We visited the spa, we went around 5pm and it was really busy and full of noisy kids. There was no room in any of the saunas so we didn't really enjoy the spa. It got quieter after 6 pm as that's was over 18's only so we should have waited and gone at 6pm. We'd definitely be back, thank you to Heikki for his amazing knowledge!…
This was a great couple getaway for us. We stayed two nights in the scenery suite and we were happy about the accommodation. Cabin was clean and spacious enough for two persons. Cabin didn’t have TV but that’s something we didn’t miss during our stay. Cabin has a small fireplace and it might be bit challenging for some people to start the fire but we didn’t have any problems. We had dinner in the hotel’s restaurant (fish and reindeer). Restaurant is nice and quiet and it provided privacy as tables are not too close to each other. Big fireplace in one corner is also nice. Reviews seem to mention often that the spa is small but we found it just perfect for us. It might not be best for the families who expect waterslide etc for the kids but atmosphere is suitable for the couples. We had an activity included in our accommodation package and we rented e-bikes for two hours. We had super fun biking to one of the islands and routes nearby hotel. We will definitely return to Järvisydän during the summer. Best thing in during the stay was the genuinely friendly staff who were there when you needed them.…
A spa hotel in very beautiful nature surroundings. Also the interior was really attractive and coherent in every building. All the details were carefully considered and it was nice that the dialect of the area was shown in signs and instructions. Breakfast was good. Not very special but self-made waffles were nice and different. We had a suite in the hotel building and it was nice and spacious. I really enjoyed the bath tub there! The lightning in the bathroom could be better for doing makeup. Spa was extremely beautiful and it was great that there was a bar and also some free snacks to enjoy. The pool was quite small but it didn't bother because there was so much more to experience as well. The dressing room was quite tight. One of the best things there was the activity that was included in the price. We chose e-fatbikes and it was so much fun! The routes could be marked a bit more clearly though. Overall, a lovely place especially for couples to enjoy having a great time in the nature and after that relaxing in the beautiful spa area. We will definitely come back to see the summer of Järvisydän as well!…
Wasn’t worth the money. Unique place, beautiful at night-time, but at day light you can see the ugly unfinnished-looking shacks they call view-suites. And no view from the view-suite. Plus the room was untidy, found an acrylic nail between the fresh towels. The spa was average. The boat-restaurant was really nice and food was excellent.
Friendly and genuine staff, clean, excellent spa, beautiful architecture in and out, great food and activities. I could not find anything to complain about, even if I tried (after all, I'm Finnish). Great value for your money and will definitely be coming back.
