A super relaxing experience in a beautiful and quiet landscape. People enjoy themselves here! Got a room with a lake view. The rooms are very basic, which was fine for us. We slept like logs with the balcony door open. Really nice and personal service in the restaurant, the chef prepared the delicacies on the terrace. The food and wines were delicious! There were only two of us in the swimming pool section, great!

We had an amazing weekend with friends. The crew in the hotel was very friendly, the place was so beuatiful, everything worked more than well. Pasi was very helpful and showed us around. Chance to rent a "jurtta" to go around the lake. I recommend this place for evetybody to see Saimaa!

We stayed for 4 days in one of the villas right by the lake-side and the architecture, view and tranquility were absolutely awesome! Most likely the most beautiful holiday home (not serviced during the stay) by far in this region. My luggage was left behind in Zürich and the receptionist, Kati, was incredibly helpful in locating it so that I finally could collect it in (20km away) Mikkeli on the last day of our stay here (a huge 'pfui' for Finnair btw..). The reception staff were all really great and guest oriented! Compliments..
But: the restaurant is really BAD news: we arrived at 7.30pm and the kitchen was closed! The lady was not interested in heating up a cup of soup for us - and it was pouring outside and quite cold. She definitely should not be allowed to work in the hotel industry with this kind of attitude. Coming from our aesthetic home at the lake to the restaurant for breakfast is like entering a canteen - or worse - no ambience at all! The food was ok, but greeting guests or caring for them is nothing any of the staff seems to know.
Eating out in this region is nothing you want to do if you don't care for sandwiches, burgers and other fast food. Drop in at the supermarket and give the well equipped kitchen a try or drive to Mikkeli.
Pity that the mooring was broken and covered by water....

I'm only reviewing the restaurant and it was quite of a disappointment. Checked forehand online Tuesday this was the day for buffet. However, it didn't say it was only the buffet that evening. Well, we paid 28 € per person for that. The result was the food was quite boring with no real flavours and the main course, salmon, was eaten away all the time. Many people checked every once in a while but the staff brought so little amount more that it didn't last more than for a few people. Finally they said there's no salmon anymore. I did get something but my father got none. Also there was no dessert anymore and they brought something quick as a corresponding dessert. I think it was meant to be pannacotta but it was something like sour berries and doughy pudding, ridiculous.
The good thing was that the waitress offered us to pay back the money from the buffet without any demand. That saved a lot but I wish we have gotten more of those last small bites of salmon as it was salty and crispy, really good!
At this kind of domestic summers I would imagine places like this to invest in keeping the Finnish travellers homeland also later on. However, this is not the way to do that!

Wonderful sojourn in the countryside. We booked this hotel because we couldn't find accommodations in Mikkeli and were delighted to discover this lovely lodge. We ended up staying put for the entire two day stay, enjoying the grounds, peace and quiet and wonderful food.

I rent an exclusive by-the-lake villa (rantahuvila) for a long weekend in early January for myself and my two small dogs. The villa was very well equipped and beautifully designed and furnished. Also the privacy that I was looking for was perfect. A couple of funny features though: you can bring your own food but one is not supposed to drink own alcohol beverages but use and pay for the minimal selection provided by the hotel, secondly there was an extra charge of 45 euros for the dogs, which was a bit awkward as the cost for three nights was over 900 euros (breakfast included in the main building). Why not charge extra for chuldren as well?
The main hotel is very different from the sleek and stylish villas and the decor is somewhat 80ies. Not my cup of tea. The including breakfast (organic, local produce) was good as such but the breakfast/dining room was quite grim. Btw, I seemed to be the only non-Russian guest. Desided to order breakfast to the villa following mornings which was a good choise although cost 25 euros extra. A nice touch to have the chef bring in in two lovely baskets.
Didn't try the spa facilities except two Scandinavian massages that were both very good and professional quality.
As a whole most recommendable but not cheap.

Have visited this resort every summer during summer holidays for good culinary experience. On a warm summer evening, enjoying Anttolanhovis Terrace restaurant's Barbecue Evening is a delightful experience. They use mainly local and/or organic produced incredients, like berries from the forests around and fish from Lake Saimaa region.

We spent here one week with our 3 year old, in late June/early July. We occupied a hillside villa, with beautiful views over the amazing lake and over the beautiful, flowerful meadows. Villas are modern, well appointed, yet very simple and eco-friendly. The sauna came in handy, also the electric barbeque on the wooden terrace. The peace and serenity of this place are astonishing and overwhelming. We hiked in the woods, swam in the lake and used the boats provided. Also every villa had two bikes and a parking lot. The restaurant on site served great food, buffet style for breakfast and lunch, a la carte for dinner. There was also a BBQ every evening with set menu. The alchoholic beverages are a bit expensive, but you must keep in mind you are in Northen Europe. Staff in the restaurant is very friendly. There are also two playgrounds here, one inside, one outside, very useful when with kids, keeping them busy. The restaurant has one big beautiful terrace where you can sit on the beautiful sunny days and enjoy the fresh air and the quietness of the forest.

We stayed in a hillside villa. This is a fantastic structure. It 's all very new, luxury and equipped with furniture and design objects. The villa is furnished with all amenities. There is a sauna, a fireplace, a kitchen with dishwasher, three bathrooms, two bedrooms, a veranda with Sun beds, table and barbecue. They are also bicycles, Nordic walking sticks and rowing boat. The lake view is fantastic. The place is very peaceful, surrounded by woods and the lake where you could swim with pleasure. Breakfast was served at the hotel and was plentiful and of good quality. The staff was very kind and every day they organized trips to the area. An unforgettable experience!

We booked an air-conditioned room and upon arrival realized that it did not work. The reception tried to call someone to repair it but in June in Finland everyone is on holiday. I asked if they knew about the problem beforehand and the lady told me very evasively that yes, they have had similar problems before. Why to sell a 140 e room if you know it is no good? The hotel was fully booked (mostly Russian families) and the only choice was to leave. The receptionist did not apologize. I agree totally with the previous reviewer: the hotel is a fake and lacks style. The people working at the reception don't have manners.
