Great hosts made us feel like family. Location perfect, no hills, no donkeys. A real delight. Rooms outstanding and breakfast over the top. All rooms great, but the three balcony rooms are exceptional. Wish I could have stayed a month.

We stayed three nights at Hotel Sophia in Hydra in April 2017. The small hotel is right on the harbor and in a great location without having to haul your stuff up the hill. Angelika, Vasiliki, and Dorothy were WONDERFUL hostesses. We had great breakfasts each morning, and they were very attentive without being intrusive. They were also very helpful...

This was one of our best hotel experiences ever. Amongst all the places we have stayed at when travelling we have rarely had such impeccable service. After a long and complicated journey we were greeted with hugs (literally), sympathy, hot chocolate and a home made piece of cake. The room was excellent (clean and comfortable) the breakfast exceptional with Greek...

We revisited Hydra after many years without booking accommodation and considered ourselves the most fortunate of tourists in finding rooms available at Sophia an absolute gem of a boutique hotel right on the Port with amazing views. The two wonderfully charming sisters were of the original family who built the aged hotel, could not do enough for us. The rooms...

Hotel Sophia is perfectly located in the center of town and right off the port. The sisters that rrun the hotel are very kind and gracious. They want you to feel like it is home. Great views right on the waterfront, perfect service, clean rooms with great air conditioning, wonderful breakfast. They will pretty much make whatever you like for breakfast with a spread of other delectable goodies. The hotel is right on the harbor and the comfortable balconies offer front row seats to all the action. Wonderful, helpful hosts and utterly charming. We stayed...

What a fantastic little find! The two sisters who run this small hotel are delightful and are so welcoming, caring and helpful. The rooms are beautifully and clean and well appointed in the centre of Hydra town, where one can spend hours watching the donkeys at work delivering the groceries to the various hotels. Breakfast is amazing and plentiful and...

The breakfasts are wonderful and the owners are delightful and eager to help This hotel is a definite 'find'. It is well situated fronting the port and there is an ever changing vista from the balcony rooms. From donkeys being...

We LOVE Hotel Sophia. We would absolutely stay here again if we have another visit to Hydra. So quaint and charming. The sisters who own Hotel Sophia are so helpful and very friendly. You MUST ask them to show you the downstairs area where they have a number of items from the original hotel....hearing the story of how the hotel...

Having read previous positive reviews we chose to stay here on our brief visit to this beautiful island. We were certainly not disappointed. The hotel is situated right on the harbour. The tiny balcony is a great place to sit and watch the various comings and goings.... Bottled water, building materials and various other random supplies being loaded onto donkeys...
