Tisara Villas nice place to relax after a cultural tour arround the island. No so busy as Unawatuna near the beach with a perfect swiming pool. Big houses decorated at colonial style, with restaurant services.
My partner and I stayed in Tisara villa 3 for a week in January 2019. We had a great time, went to a swim every morning and cooked our breakfast in the villa. The surroundings are green and lush, we enjoyed the evenings sitting on the terrace. There are plenty of nice restaurants easily reachable by Tuk Tuk on a 10 min ride. As Tisara is a gated community it is also very easy for families with children, each villa has 2BRs with ensuite and open bathrooms.
I spent a weekend at Tisara Villas and enjoyed it very much. The property is located approximately 1 km from the sandy beach of Koggala with only 7 bungalows and a big pool in the tropical garden. The friendly staff fullfil every wish you have and offer delicious food. The nearby Cafe Ceylon is under the same umbrella and is the perfect place for a nice dinner and a chill-out drink. Absolutely recommandable!
Stayed here for 5 nights and i can honestly stay i would never stay here again . The villas are good but beg for maintenance , the showers have very less water pressure , the bathtub has probably not been cleaned in an year or so , the toilet lid was not closing . The pool area is a saving grace . The biggest con for me is the poor management how can you serve only eggs and bread in breakfast while charging 30$ per person per day for 2 meals they gave sausages and ham after a big argument after 2 days they came with a lame excuse that we wont be able to give them any longer as there is nothing left in stock and management has said there is no supply of food . The dinner that they gave us the night before we were checking out was appalling they gave us only rice and chicken saying that no staff is available and there is nothing else left . The waiting boys are good and we tipped them generously as they were the only good thing in this property . Avoid this place as much as you can . Ps - carry mosquito repellent with you . Attaching a pic of the dinner that they served for 8 people . …
Tisara villas is different. A small resort of 10, 2 bedroom villas in a private, walled jungle garden. The villas are huge. 2 large air-conditioned bedrooms, large lounge & dining area with separate kitchen, & private tended garden. The resort has a lovely pool with trees overhanging & an abundance of wildlife. Every morning a small troop of monkeys would pass overhead grazing and playing. The variety of birds and other small animals was astonishing. We were able to visit many places from here. We went to Galle fort, did a river safari, went on a glass bottomed boat to see an abundance of fish and a large turtle inches beneath our boat. We spent several days by the pool, and only one day were we troubled by mosquitoes, the morning after a heavy rainfall - so went to the beach - no mosquitoes there!! This resort is not to everyone's taste - food selection was limited, but well prepared & generous. Breakfast is taken by pool & dinner is served in your villa by your room boy. We are a couple, but had to pay for a meal plan for 4 as the villas are for 4 people. This is the resort rule. If you are on a tight budget then pay for a breakfast only plan as there are plenty of cheap restaurants or places to buy food you can prepare in your villa kitchen. The resort is operated by a small team and the jungle garden requires a lots of maintenance. It was not as tidy as you might like, but very natural. The paths are kept clear and the private gardens and pool areas are well maintained. …
