I was staying there with my wife second time after 1,5 year break from December 22 till December 27, 2019. It was again wonderful experience and I must say that Rocky's is the best touristic hotel I have ever stayed during my holidays. We have experience with hotels in Koh Samui and Phuket, mainly 5 star hotels and none of them can compete with Rocky's marvelous garden, ambience, cleanness, friendship, kindness and care of the management and personnel. Spending Christmas there was so very nice and much above our expectations with fantastic dinners on 24th and 25 December. Every evening the hotel had some interesting program for a dinner, especially we liked free wine degustation we were lucky to be in upon arrival. The hotel has a nice private beach and 2 swimming pools. We never saw them overcrowded despite the high season. During high tide the beach gets narrow. The hotel is in distance of 2 - 2.5 km from Lamai, so it is possible to walk there when it is not hot. There is a shuttle from the hotel to Lamai but returning from there in the evening is on your own, a taxi costs BHT 200 (after bargaining). After our stay in Rocky's we moved to another hotel (5* in north of Lamai) and it was a big mistake. We should have stayed in Rocky's Resort all our December/January holiday.

Having travelled extensively and experienced many of the 'higher end' type places throughout Asia, I can confidently state that Rocky's is up there with the best. It combines the amenities and facilities of those large, 5-star resorts with the intimacy of a personal hotel, having only around 50 suites. The location is lovely, having direct access to a small beach of its own in addition to being only a 5-minute walk from the larger Lamai Beach and all of its bars and restaurants. Food is great too and the rooms are spacious, clean and have all amenities you would expect. But, as with most good places, it is the staff that can make all the difference and it in this regard that Rocky's truly excels. The graciousness, kindness, friendliness and every other positive 'ness' I can think of were all practised by everyone, from the management through to the groundskeepers who were always there with a warm greeting and a smile.
I would highly recommend Rocky's in Koh Samui without hesitation. Although the resort itself is pretty perfect, it's the staff that really make it. Jun and Ariane do a wonderful job of looking after the guests and special mention to Cha Em and Nam for dealing so gracefully and kindly with our 14-strong breakfast chaos every morning.
We have visited many places throughout the world and this is one of the few we specifically intend returning to, which I hope is the strongest endorsement we could give!

We spent Christmas at this beautiful boutique resort hotel and what a fabulous experience it was. The whole place is designed to help you relax and unwind, their hospitality is second to none and everyone we met were so friendly and welcoming. We had an ocean view junior suite, very spacious, big comfy bed with ample sitting area. Bathroom was a wet room, with fluffy white towels - fab to wrap up in! We had a balcony off the room with space to lounge or sit without being overlooked.
The food was sublime, good choice of European and Thai cuisine with themed nights available. Christmas dinner was substantial with free flow wine included in the price, people came from outside the hotel which goes to show how good it was! Our waiter, whose name I think was Bwm (really sorry if I haven’t got that right) was fabulous and kept my husbands glass topped up all evening.🍷 Dinner on the beach with a fire show was sensational, I even participated in the show, so brave!!
I could go on an on about this wonderful place and what an amazing time we had. Would I go back again - you bet I would.

This is an especially gorgeous hotel just south of Lamai Beach. The staff and management are very kind and helpful whenever needed. Dee was especially our favorite as she came to our breakfast table every morning to say hi.
Speaking of breakfast, the complimentary buffet was above and beyond. Espresso, coffee or tea to start. Then Rocky's provides you a "western-style" menu to pick one breakfast entree of your choice. While waiting for your entree, you can travel up to the buffet where there's endless amounts of choices including pastries, fresh bread, waffles, pancakes, assorted cheeses and at the very end is a Thai chef who will make you a delicious Thai soup (we had one almost every morning). This breakfast happens every morning with a beautiful view of the ocean and sunrise.
The rooms were exceptional. We had the Junior Oceanview Suite and it fully exceeded our expectations. Spacious room included a beautiful bathroom with walk-in shower and a balcony that we spent most evenings enjoying our nightly drink.
The pools (one up in the courtyard and down by the beach) were great. We preferred the beach pool for the sun but the garden pool is great for staying cool and relaxing. The beach is small but it's private for the guests so it's plenty of room for everyone. We took the complimentary kayak out for an hour or so to see the other coves.
If you're looking for high class, go to Rocky's : )

We stayed for 8 nights which coincided with the progressive lockdown in UK and a deteriorating situation in Thailand.
Rockys was at about 25% occupancy so plenty of sunbeds by the pool and on the beach both of which were lovely. We were upgraded to a nice room at the lower level which was clean and comfortable.
Rockys recognise that they need to refresh the property and have commenced an extensive programme of work to to do - indeed they compensated for any disruption (which we didn’t experience) with food/drinks/massage vouchers. By the way the massages were excellent!
The quality of the food was excellent and the prices fair although the service at the lower pool bar was a little disorganised at times particularly where there are lots of promotions (happy hour and daily themes) which confuses the staff.
Rockys is in a good location for taxi access to Lamai, airport and around the island.
Rockys will continue to thrive because of its unique offering and location and because of the refresh programme.

This hotel is lovely and the staff are nice too. If you're looking to relax and chill out then this is the place for you.
If however you are looking to travel about in Koh Samui then we'd recommend staying closer to the Fisherman's Village as there is more going in there.
Taxis are generally more expensive from this hotel to anywhere else on the island as it's location is quite remote.
In terms of amenities however, can't fault it. Nice swimming pools, rooms and the restaurants are nice as well.

In fact, there are loads of bars, restaurants, shops, convenience stores, pharmacy, atm and tourist attraction nearby. Shuttle bus service is provided 3 times a day to Lamai and 3 times return while 1 time drop off to Chaweng which is even busier than Lamai. Hotel taxi prices is the same as outside taxi.. In case you forgot to book the shuttle bus, you can pay 200 baht to Lamai same as outside taxi price or take a tuk tuk even cheaper. Thank you as you were happy with our amenities. On arrival you are greeted by the most beautiful architectural entrance which definitely has the wow factor and deservedly so. We stayed at Rocky’s for 7 nights in an oceanview pool front room. If your budget allows I highly recommend spending the extra if you love having the beachfront on your doorstep. We stayed in room 303 however next time I would request room 306 or 307 as they were a little further down and felt a bit more private as guests do walk past your room to access the resort. The room is beautiful with the largest bed I’ve ever encountered. It is literally the width of 3 single beds joined together!! We found the bed very comfortable however please be aware that it’s a futon style and the mattress is on a raised platform but on the floor so if you have bad knees or hips this is not ideal. The décor is very soft and pleasing and they provided lovely bathroom and room amenities. The coffee machine, daily bottled water and mini fridge were very much appreciated as was the nightly turndown service. The cleaning staff did a wonderful job of keeping the floors free of sand and replenishing the amenities in our room on a daily basis. This is a true beachfront resort set in lush tropical gardens giving it a true sense of peace and tranquillity that you would expect from a boutique resort. The standout is definitely the staff. They were all so warm, friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. During the day they served ice water and fresh fruit skewers to the guests sitting on the beach and around the pool which was a really lovely touch. Breakfast was included in our rate and was also very good. Not quite 5 star but close. Our eggs were hit and miss depending on what you ordered. The fruit was beautiful and fresh but it would have been nice to see more local varieties like mangosteen, mango and rambutan. We had dinner in the restaurant a few times during our stay and it was very good. IThe happy hours were also great value.

What can we say - Rockys not only exceeded our expectations but went a million miles beyond! From the actual booking right through to our departure we had an amazing experience and we already can’t wait to come back! We booked our stay at Rockys to view it as a potential for our wedding venue, and our wedding planner Hannah was fantastic! Planning an abroad wedding is daunting but she took all the stress away, from our first email to her she was so helpful and couldn’t do enough for us! Hannah helped us book our stay for both us and my Maid of Honor who was backpacking and joined us for the week! Not once did we feel pressured to book, and it was the perfect balance of a holiday and wedding planning! Safe to say we fell in love with Rockys instantly, Hannah made it so personal to us and we have booked to get married in 2024! We are so excited for all of our friends and family to experience Rockys too and we can’t wait to start the planning!
Wedding aside, we cannot rate Rockys highly enough on its facilities, location and staff! The staff are so friendly and make you feel like family, and for us that’s such a special touch! All of the rooms are beautiful, we stayed in a pool view (after a very kind upgrade by Hannah and staff) and we loved the spacious rooms and extra touches (dressing gowns, beach bags, toiletries, slippers ect). The rooms with plunge pool offer incredible views of the ocean and the villas look stunning too!
Both pools are beautiful as is the beach, and we loved the free use of kayaks and paddle boards. Staff never let you go thirsty and we loved the complimentary water around the pool! Happy hour cocktails is also a bonus! Location is great too, only a 15/20 minute walk into Lamai if you want the busier restaurants/bars/shops, and it’s so easy to get a taxi around the island, Rockys will happily book these on request.
Lastly the food - again, amazing! The breakfast was by far one of the best we’ve ever experienced, it’s a mixture of buffet and menu with SO much choice! We were obsessed with the French toast. The coffee was also fab and again so much choice! We also went to one of Rockys BBQ on the beach events, we got complimentary cocktails and show from the fire dancers! The food again was beautiful, it’s definitely helped us decide on food choices for the wedding!
Thank you Rockys and staff, especially Hannah, you’ve made what could have been a stressful time so easy and we cannot wait to return in 2024!

Loved our 12 nights stay in this lovely hotel. We had a premier ocean view room with a balcony surrounded by trees so there is the constant sound of birds singing and the ocean which we loved. The room is large and very comfortable with a large bathroom and big walk in shower. The bed is really comfortable. Could do with a few more hangers in the wardrobe other than that perfect. Two chairs and a table on the balcony are good but they don't recline and we saw that some other rooms by the pool have a day bed which would be good. There is a pretty pond near the steps so you are also seranaded by the frog chorus all night which we found very funny. Lots of midges around as it rained so take repellent and use the coils on the patio. The garden pool is also surrounded by trees and there's plenty of shade if you're like us pale folk who don't want to bake every day. Floating around the pool watching birds fly overhead was a major pastime of mine. Cold water and fruit sticks are bought round by the lovely pool bar team. The restaurant is very good. We loved the very organised and well staffed breakfast. Plenty of choice and always replenished. Tables look out to sea. We ate a few times at lunch and dinner and enjoyed the food. Locally just along the road towards Lamai there's a few great little family restaurants and you're 10 mins from a Family Mart so you can stock up on snacks and beers there. Free shuttle into Lamai is very handy and its only 200thbht for a cab home. The staff at Rocky's are all great. Such good service from friendly helpful team members. Nam who is one of the bar team was particularly wonderful helping my husband who was the worse for the vodka and slid off a rock into the sea. She sprung into action with a towel, sterilising spray and plasters! Wonderful lady!

Staffs were very friendly and attentive. From picking up upon arrival to checking in and guiding to the room, all were well prepared and less time consuming. Gotten upgraded to the beachfront and the room was tidy, clean and comfortable bed. Very delicious breakfast and were all well presented. Tasty Thai dishes and would highly recommend to tourists to explore. Samui is big island and it’s advisable to have car or motorcycle rental on your stay for a day or two where you can explore the famous local restaurants, scenery or outings since taking taxi can be expensive . Hotel’s offer with boat sightseeing and snorkeling was very enjoyable and worthwhile spending. Our three days ran fast and we did feel fully recharged. The construction is not on site but next land to Rocky's. There are some noise and the affected area is the reception/lobby zone.

The pool rooms are in blocks of 4, but look like little villas. 2 on the ground floor and 2 above. The upper rooms are accessed by steps at the side of each block
"Their airport shuttle is just a little more expensive than a regular taxi but it is a lot more comfortable. Grab does not pick up at the airport so options are limited."
