I cannot recommend Banyan Tree Samui enough. The property is stunningly gorgeous and the entire staff is so hospitable and helpful, especially my designated Villa Host Anna. First class service across the board. I booked my trip via Amex Platinum Fine Hotels & Resorts and as soon as I arrived I was promptly upgraded to an ocean view villa and received complimentary breakfast, resort credit, etc as well as many gratis goodies throughout my stay. Despite it being the rainy season and I saw limited sun, the facilities, spa, and restaurants kept me busy. I enjoyed my solo trip, but it definitely is a resort better suited for couples. Thank you for a wonderful stay, can’t wait to come back again!
We had the pleasure of spending the second week of our honeymoon at the Banyan Tree in Samui. The pool villas are outstanding and far bigger than you can imagine from pictures on the website. We stayed in a full ocean view villa from where we could see a big chunk of the resort, the beach and out to sea. There is a large terrace and large pool as well as an outdoor dining area and sunbathing platform. Inside, there is a lounge area with TV, minibar/fridge and drinks making facilities, then you slide doors through to the bedroom with a huge super king size bed fit for royalty! Then you slide through more doors to the bathroom with huge bath, separate toilet, walk in wardrobe area and a separate shower area with rainfall shower. You can access the outside terrace and pool from the lounge, bedroom and shower. While the bedroom is showing a few signs of age in the furniture and not especially great plug/USB situation (as well as very confusing lighting!), the overall size and finish of the villa is outstanding. I also liked the fact you could press a switch in the villa for "do not disturb" or "make my room up". The housekeepers were super friendly and their turn down service (along with gift and sweet treat) as well as their overall cleaning standard was amazing. The grounds themselves are like being in a tropical rainforest...the flowers and wildlife and birds are wonderful, and we had fun spotting the birds, geckos and millipedes both outside our villa as well as on a tour round the grounds with Phan, the recreation manager who gave us a fascinating insight into the environment and wildlife and trees around the villas and hotel. The private beach is also stunning, lovely soft sand, and intriguing at night to see the green lights from the fishing boats as they fish for calamari. The experiences are highly recommended...we had a celebratory dinner at Sands...it was meant to be on the beach, but a thunderstorm had other plans for us, but having a private area of the restaurant to ourselves along with all the same set up and beautiful flowers and watching the wind and rain was just as spectacular, and the service from Sara and Lookmee was so personal and friendly, and they took so many lovely photos for us too. The food itself was incredible, we didn't realise there would be so many courses! The most special part was the main, I had the fillet steak and lobster and my wife had fillet steak with lamb. All elements were cooked to perfection as requested, and while not cheap, I can certainly state it was worth every penny for such a magical evening. We also had a couple of massages and facials each at the spa which is totally world class. The whole experience here was memorable, not least the fact we had our treatments together as a couple in a private villa setting both times. We left feeling invigorated as well as relaxed. The only slight blip in the whole experience was the fact that it was not always clear who was in charge in each section of the hotel, and this was then reflected in the fact that management was reactive to issues rather than avoiding them in the first place. I must admit that the resolutions were always first class and exceeded expectations, but rather than get something for free by way of an apology, at this level, you expect the issues to not be happening in the first place! This can no doubt be rectified with better communication between departments across the hotel. The villa host concept is nice too, albeit the "Line" app isn't as effective as "WhatsApp" and we felt that we got quicker responses and more attentive service from our host in other Banyan Tree properties, but this is just us being pedantic! The dining options are excellent, with Sands offering a nicer, more informal option by the beach. Saffron is their superb fine dining Thai restaurant - the golf buggy ride to here is especially entertaining as it is VERY steep. And The Edge offers amazing views for breakfast, which was great quality every morning, not least the freshly cooked eggs and pancakes. Room service was also very good and pretty swift to be served. There is also a nice shop on site selling Banyan Tree spa items and other gifts such as robes and towels. The hotel is also in a great location on its own headland, but just a short taxi ride to both Lamai and Chaweng. Overall, we had the most wonderful week here and it is part of our honeymoon that we shall never forget at the beautiful Banyan Tree in Koh Samui :-) This is a world class 5* resort.…
the best Koh Samui hotel with 6 star service... for guest which preffer quit place, very nice garden ( you feel like in naturalrain forest) .... 300 m from hotel is good moto bike rent : for island experiences and ....
I stayed at the Deluxe Pool Villa for 4 nights. The layout, pool, amenities of the villa was fantastic. Everything was well thought and installed. Resort in itself is beautiful, Sands beach club has a great vibe. Staff, buggy service is prompt. Great experience overall. I just had some issue with proper vegetarian options in their in dining and overall hotel menu. They were very limited and the menu should have consisted of more food options from around the world. Overall great experience!
Excellent stay, beautiful villas, staff were so attentive, we were well looked after and felt secure, lots to see and do, our Host Chan, was informative so helpful and oh so graceful, private beach just so gorgeous 🤗thank you.
As a last-minute booking, we were blown away by the beauty and architecture of the resort. If you are looking for absolute privacy, this is your place, yet every amenity is a quick phone call away. I don't typically do reviews, but Banyan Tree was unique enough to deserve one while checking all of the boxes of a luxury resort. This isn't just another luxury hotel. I highly recommend the cooking classes and enjoying an in-suite breakfast. Definitely worth upgrading your room to have a heated jet tub - a great place to spend many hours. Thanks to Chan for her amazing hospitality. An unforgettable honeymoon experience!
Went for my honeymoon and it was one of the best decisions ever. Our room was extremely private, the room service was VERY fast even though our room was very far. We spent the whole 5 days in the room just because of the scenery
It was the part of our trip.. the staff were very friendly and helpful. Beauty at the concierge was so friendly and welcoming. The spa treatments and staff were excellent. We will visit Banyan Tree Samui again :)
Definitely a remarquable experience. The resort’s villas are a state of the art and the staff very thoughtful and discrete. We also enjoyed the charming atmosphere and the menu in the Saffron dining facility. This will not be our last booking at Banyan Tree!
A fantastic hotel, where you are made to feel special from the moment you arrive. Villas have their own private pool and Jacuzzi, so both luxury, a beach and privacy. Staff are superb - you need anything, call and within 5 mins they are their. I hardly ever write any reviews - but this time I just had to. A special thank you to our caretaker, Chan. She was there when you needed her and was so so helpful.
