My family and I had a wonderful visit to Tom & Colleen's villa in Piegaro, Umbria. They've rebuilt an 8th Century glass factory into wonderful guest quarters in this quaint hilltop village. If you've ever dreamed of staying in an Italian villa in the countryside in an authentic midevil town where real Italians (not tourists) still actually live, this is... More

Dear Jeffrey, Thank you so very much for this great review! You stayed in a very special part of L'Antica Vetreria, our most historic and we are so grateful that you loved every aspect of the apartment, La Terrazza. It is so nice when guests from the "New World" appreciate the history in those thousand + year old walls. If... More

We have visited L'Antica Vetreria and toured the entire beautiful property, but both times we have tried to book (on short notice) it was full up!! While we haven't been able to stay yet, I wanted to acknowledge how helpful Colleen was in finding us alternate lodging, even volunteering to book it for us. In addition, Colleen graciously shared a... More

In August 2015 my family returned to L'Antica Vetreria for the second time with a larger group and we occupied most of the villa. Colleen and Tom were fantastic as always and managed to suggest some new and exciting things that would satisfy both the return guests as well as the first timers. Colleen organized a wine tour, a tour... More

Nine members of our three-generation family spent a magical week in the Villa of L'Antica Vetreria recently. We had high expectations, following a friend's recommendation, but our week exceeded our expectations. The setting - a great combination of access to a charming small town and spectacular views of the countryside; the amazing combination of staying in an historic space equipped... More

We had such a relaxing, enjoyable week here. For us, it ticked so many boxes: within a village (don't need to drive to get basic supplies), a pool (unusual for places in walking distance of villages to have pools) and a perfect point for exploring Umbria and surrounds. Tom and Colleen were friendly, helpful and very knowledgable not just about... More

L'Antica Vetreria have a variety of apartments of various sizes - we stayed in "Terezza", which was relatively private and remained nicely cool throughout the 35+ degree days. The pool was nearby and the children enjoyed it immensely. There is a great restaurant just around the corner and some good groceries too, all within short walking distance. I can recommend... More

Part of this building dates back to the 800's, so it's got the history vibe for sure.
