The Riverside Restaurant is a pure delight from start to finish, we cannot. Recommend it highly enough!! Fantastic people as hosts, truly welcoming and willing to go that extra mile. The food Option caters for all tastes and is beautifully presented, and plentiful. A must for any traveller to this great Island.

The Riverside is a wonderfully homely restaurant and hotel in the centre of Charlestown which is a very quaint and friendly town. Anthony Kelly and his son Anthony are both acomoplished chefs who have trained in France with their certificates proudly displayed amougst the old black and white photographs and ornaments in the traditional restaurant setting. The menu has lots...

Perhaps the problem is that we only eat in this restaurant on Sunday afternoons. There is nothing in any way special about the food that we could detect. The lunch is very much in the hotel carvery style: turkey and ham, roast beef, roast lamb--all served with mash, gravy and vegetables consisting of plain boiled diced carrots, parsnip, etc I...

Hi, We have had several meals in this restaurant over a few years. We have found the food very good, also very good service. Ideally located a few miles from West Ireland Knock airport, so a good place to eat after your flight over to Ireland.

We were on the last night of our holiday, staying in Swinford overnight before flying out of Knock airport, looking for somewhere to eat for dinner we put into the sat-nav, restaurants nearby, just going by the name and the location not far away in Charlestown we took a chance, the restaurant from outside looked quaint so decided to give...

Stayed at the Riverside on the 16th 17th and 18th of June with my beautiful fiancee Lisa and had a wonderful time. Room was large and overlooking the river. The food was great and the soda bread and white pudding was to die for . Anthony the chef made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble (...

Once again we returned to the Riverside, but sadly for only one night this year because we had family with us who wanted to see Dublin and other parts of Ireland. Our stay was just as good as our previous stays, the staff are all very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast was great as always and...

We stopped at the restaurant on our way through Charlestown, and the place was fairly empty, but probably only due to the fact that we arrived before normal dinner time. I ordered a simple pasta (one not on the menu, but they were accommodating and accepted it anyways) and it tasted wonderful, and the other people with me had food...

March 27, 2014, A friend from Co. Roscommon, invited me for lunch at the Riverside Restaurant, Charlestown, Co. Mayo. I found the Riverside easily, plenty of street parking, the resturant, very quaint & cozy, the staff very attentive, I didn't feel rushed, I enjoyed a wonderful plate of perfectly cooked assorted veggies, a welcome treat.

“As I said if you don't mind a little traffic the rooms at the front are fine, mind you it was a warm night and I had my window open, otherwise ask for a room maybe at the back, it honestly was not that bad as its in a quite area the whole town is quite not big on nightlife or entertaining but very present .”
