We stayed in a private room at the newly built Kast Guesthouse (the building we stayed in was built in 2014). We loved the location and found Snaefells to be one of our favorite areas to drive and sight see. The peninsula is supposed to be a great place to watch for the Northern Lights, an area frequented by clearer...

Just OK place. Clean and new but very industrial prefab box rooms. No atmosphere, oh except for the fantastic mountain located just feet behind the hotel. Others were impressed by the friendly foreign staff, they were good, but we were not with the total lack of Icelandic people, but this was the case in many of the places we stayed...

We enjoyed staying in this simple guesthouse which is run by staff from around the world. I generally like to stay in locally family run guesthouses, but this was ok because the staff were so friendly and they enjoyed working there. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinner there also. Fish was a little tough. Oh well. My complaint was there...

We spent one night at Kast. The atmosphere is friendly and easygoing. Our room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. Bonus points for the comforter being long enough for a tall guy. Breakfast is buffet style and had a variety of cereals, different breads, jams, cold cuts, cheese, juices, tea and coffee. The staff made sure things never ran out even when...

We stayed 3 nights at the Kast Guesthouse. Our room was simple, clean and quiet. Breakfast was simple and easy - everything was refilled quickly and the staff are friendly. The eating area can get quite crowded. We enjoyed their dinners. Prices were not bad compared to some places in Iceland, especially their desserts. The desserts were homemade and delicious....

Most travellers stay one night on their whistle stop tour of Iceland. We stayed 3 nights and found good hiking, horse riding and sights minutes away by car. Room and bathroom simply furnished but adequate. Great breakfast and friendly, efficient and knowledgeable staff. Do check with the staff regarding possibility of seeing the Northern Lights - their advice was spot...

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic stay here. There was a problem with a change we had tried to make to our reservation, and the folks at the guesthouse were incredibly kind and accommodating. Great location to explore the peninsula and see the northern lights. We'll be back!

Kast Guesthouse is situated a bit away from the main road. There is nearly no traffic passing by. The guesthouse is in a quiet place with a great view on the hills nearby and the sea by the horizon. The rooms are simple, there is no TV and no fancy extra stuff, what you do not need in my opinion...

Hello Zonkeydonkey, I would like to thank you for your constructive feedback. I´m always very happy to see than someone enjoyed to stay with us. We also think that a TV is not necessary in this place surrounded by a beautiful nature, we want our guests to go outside and enjoy our country, especially when the northern lights season started....

We stayed one night at the Kast Guesthouse and were very pleased with the experience. The staff are super friendly, which significantly enhanced our visit. The rooms are very simple, bare-bones, but new, modern, clean and bright. It feels a little like staying in a camp in Antarctica or something... almost trailer-like buildings... but we enjoyed the feel and the...
