We got upgraded to a 2 bed apartment over 2 floors (from a studio), which was lovely.
Very spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet.
The outdoor seating was fantastic with views of the swimming pool and out to the sea.
Check-in and check-out was straightforward (the manned hours were a bit hit and miss, but a telephone call to the office was always answered) .
Kitchen was full kitted out. Just bring your own washing up liquid.
The decor was a little dated, but it didn't spoil the stay.
There was ample (free) parking and also free wifi.
Both bedrooms were very spacious with one bathroom.
There was also a downstairs toilet which was very handy.
The windows and patio doors had metal shutters and curtains which helped to keep the room cool.
The outdoor area had a couple of loungers and a table/chairs.
There was also a bbq area but unfortunately we didn't have enough time to use it.
I would have preferred a washing machine instead of a dish washer though.
We didn't have time to try the pool
All in all, it was a very comfortable stay and I would recommend these apartments.
The maids cleaned the villa 5/6 times a week. The pool area was cleaned daily and was spotless. Marika and Chico are fantastic care takers and nothing is of any bother to them.
The pool area was really nice with sunloungers and seat pads, which were all free. There are loads of really really nice restaurants in the area, most of which you need to drive to, but there are other ones which you can walk to. Eating out is probably around the same as eating in the UK (price wise) although you could go into Albulfera and get cheaper meals.
The supermarket is about a 5 minute walk away but I would advise to go to ALGARVE Shopping and do your shopping there as it seemed to be cheaper and have a much larger variety of goods.
Zoo Marine is a must - it was fantastic value for money and you can spend the whole day there - the Dolphin show was fantastic.
Having a car is a must - there is loads to see and do and I would recommend these Villas and area for a great family holiday.

On our first visit we had said what a wonderful view you had from the balcony and second bedroom, nothing has changed with this as nothing has been built in front of the villas since we were there last time. Through the day you have the wonderful view and at night it is great to sit out on the balcony looking at the stars with a bbq. Even the bbq was cleaned out every day for you.
Inside is still as clean as ever with all the appliances that you need in the kitchen.
Bedrooms are clean and are cleaned nearly every day and linen changed during the week.
Bathroom were spotless and again cleaned on a regular basis with towels changed fairly often.
Pool area still has plenty of sunbeds and parasols and the pool bar is still there. No need to take any money down to the pool as you just pay your pool bar bill when you leave.
Tennis rackets can also be hired.
Nothing is too much trouble to any of the staff who are all friendly and helpful.
Onlyfive/ten minutes walk to Gale beach which is still lovely and clean, although the water this year was freezing.
Will definitely go back again and would recommend to anyone thinking of going to Gale.
Everything about this place is beautiful.
The villa, the pools, the location, the stunning views and very helpful and polite staff.
A real gem of a place.
Will definitely be returning again.
Yes, we felt very secure with a security system that could be set when you went out or while you slept and also there was a keyed safe in the upstairs main bedroom in the closet. Plenty of staorage there for suitcases and clothing There is plenty to keep you amused in the immediate area including restaurants and an amazing beach with several
restaurants right on the beach which is a five minute walk down a dirt road. We did a ton of walking which was pleasant enough and got us to various amenities including a lunch deli, and a more expensive grocery store and a teeny store/cafe that had very cheap good wine.. 2104 Portugal cab sav for 3.5 Euros, but even at the expensive grocery store (Apalonia)you could still buy wine pretty reasonable. Nice thing is that they handed out generous samples. Back to the Villas Rufino. The kitchen was well equipped with quality pots and pans and a decent stove and good sized fridge, plus fresh teatowels, tho no dishcloths or dish soap. so I 'd advise a grocery shop at Albis before you settle in. Also there is a decent BBQ on the patio, but you will need to buy briquettes and starter etc. Many people were using them, but we didn't bother as we were only there for a week.. Maids popped by every week day in the afternoon to see if you needed any fresh towels or linens and even a fresh tablecloth. The living room and upstairs bedroom each had a unit that could supply air conditioning or heat which we needed as it was still cool in the evenings. It was perfect for our needs.
I don't have anything negative to say as this is located in an upscale residential neighbourhood in a pretty area out of the hustle and bustle of the city. I would recommend Villas Rufino to anyone.
