Just visited villa Rufino and my family and friends love it the pool was amazing with lovely views. Amazing place to escape from the world! Rooms where very clean, maids came every other day which was fantastic. Staff was very friendly and the bar was very affordable selling toasties, drinks, milkshakes, ice creams and snacks for a very little price. The pool was always quite and you would often have the whole pool to yourself. Lovely beach in walking distance (5min walk) and lovely beach front restaurants which we ate out at and enjoyed. The supermarket was in walking distance with fresh pastries, bread and cakes and a wide selection of things including fresh fish, meat, sushi, lots of fruit and veggies. I will definitely be coming back soon 10/10 family holiday.

Lovely comfortable apartment with amazing sunset views
We got upgraded to a 2 bed apartment over 2 floors (from a studio), which was lovely.
Very spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet.
The outdoor seating was fantastic with views of the swimming pool and out to the sea.
Check-in and check-out was straightforward (the manned hours were a bit hit and miss, but a telephone call to the office was always answered) .

Kitchen was full kitted out. Just bring your own washing up liquid.
The decor was a little dated, but it didn't spoil the stay.
There was ample (free) parking and also free wifi.
Both bedrooms were very spacious with one bathroom.
There was also a downstairs toilet which was very handy.
The windows and patio doors had metal shutters and curtains which helped to keep the room cool.
The outdoor area had a couple of loungers and a table/chairs.
There was also a bbq area but unfortunately we didn't have enough time to use it.

I would have preferred a washing machine instead of a dish washer though.
We didn't have time to try the pool
All in all, it was a very comfortable stay and I would recommend these apartments.

We’ve just had a 5 night stay. Highly recommend staying here. 2 bed Villa was v spacious and so much nicer than I was expecting. . Pool was great. Beautiful views. Pool didn’t close early so we had lovely evening swims. We went with 12 and 15 year old. We all had a fantastic time. It’s close to superb beaches / activities near by. Very helpful lady in reception who let us check in early and leave a bit later. We had a hire car which was helpful. Thank you for a very relaxing stay

Just returned from another fabulous holiday in the Algarve. We stayed at the Villas Rufino (5th time), which were in our opinion first class. They were spacious, clean and modern. The kitchen was large and very well equipped with fridge freezer, microwave, cooker/hob, dishwasher and more than enough crookery, glasses etc. On the ground floor was a spacious livingroom with dining area with patio doors looking out onto the patio and also a downstairs toilet. Upstairs were 2 spacoius bedrooms, one with a balcony overlooking the pool and the other facing the car park. A full bathroom was also on the upper floor.A barbeque was available for use in each villas patio (which was a fair size). The villas are in 2 rows of 10. 1-10, 11-20. They all share the most wonderful view - its amazing and you would never tire of looking at it, whether first thing in the morning or last thing at night.

The maids cleaned the villa 5/6 times a week. The pool area was cleaned daily and was spotless. Marika and Chico are fantastic care takers and nothing is of any bother to them.

The pool area was really nice with sunloungers and seat pads, which were all free. There are loads of really really nice restaurants in the area, most of which you need to drive to, but there are other ones which you can walk to. Eating out is probably around the same as eating in the UK (price wise) although you could go into Albulfera and get cheaper meals.

The supermarket is about a 5 minute walk away but I would advise to go to ALGARVE Shopping and do your shopping there as it seemed to be cheaper and have a much larger variety of goods.

Zoo Marine is a must - it was fantastic value for money and you can spend the whole day there - the Dolphin show was fantastic.

Having a car is a must - there is loads to see and do and I would recommend these Villas and area for a great family holiday.

The other reviewer described the villas perfectly. The location looking over the ocean could not be bettered, how wonderful to wake up to that view each morning. The grounds and the outside of the villas had great attention to detail, the photos on the website are just as it is. The maid service was excellent, we had serveral towel changes during our 10 day stay. Manuela the manager/caretaker was very friendly, she didn't speak much English but we got by, we pointed out a few things missing from the kitchen and she replaced them immediately. However, we did feel that the inside could do with a little attention. The shower was a dribble although it was hot so we could get clean, we didn't try the bath as it would probably take forever to fill. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable but I realise some might prefer a hard bed. The pillows were very small and lumpy so the sleeping experience wasn't too great. There were only about 6 hangers in the wardrobe. These things didn't by any means ruin our holiday but it would be nice to see a bit spent on them although we only paid £37 per night for the whole villa in April so we can't complain at the price. We too noticed that the walls were very thin and crying babies or rowdy teenagers were certainly heard through them but this was only on two nights. In our villa the twin room was not the room with the balcony which I think is sensible as children might be sleeping in the twin room. The twin room is a lot smaller than the double room but both have large wardrobes but there is no dressing table in twin room. Worth a note is the fact that the pool bar wasn't opened during our stay so its probably only open during high season but not really a problem. We've been holidaying in the Gale/Castello/Vale de Parra area for many years but villas Rufino was a new discovery for us and with the view of the ocean, I think we'll be back.

Just returned from another fabulous holiday in the Algarve. We stayed at the Villas Rufino (8th time), which were in our opinion first class. They are spacious, clean and modern. The kitchen was large and very well equipped with fridge freezer, microwave, cooker/hob, dishwasher and more than enough crookery, glasses etc. Which has been updated since our last visit. On the ground floor there is spacious livingroom with dining area with patio doors looking out onto the patio and also a downstairs toilet. Upstairs were 2 spacoius bedrooms, one with a balcony overlooking the pool and the other facing the car park. A full bathroom was also on the upper floor - which has recently be redone. A barbeque was available for use in each villas patio (which was a fair size). The villas are in 2 rows of 10. 1-10, 11-20. They all share the most wonderful view - its amazing and you would never tire of looking at it, whether first thing in the morning or last thing at night.

This was the second time that we stayed at these villas.

On our first visit we had said what a wonderful view you had from the balcony and second bedroom, nothing has changed with this as nothing has been built in front of the villas since we were there last time. Through the day you have the wonderful view and at night it is great to sit out on the balcony looking at the stars with a bbq. Even the bbq was cleaned out every day for you.

Inside is still as clean as ever with all the appliances that you need in the kitchen.

Bedrooms are clean and are cleaned nearly every day and linen changed during the week.

Bathroom were spotless and again cleaned on a regular basis with towels changed fairly often.

Pool area still has plenty of sunbeds and parasols and the pool bar is still there. No need to take any money down to the pool as you just pay your pool bar bill when you leave.

Tennis rackets can also be hired.

Nothing is too much trouble to any of the staff who are all friendly and helpful.

Onlyfive/ten minutes walk to Gale beach which is still lovely and clean, although the water this year was freezing.

Will definitely go back again and would recommend to anyone thinking of going to Gale.

Although not in the city of Albuferia, these bungalows were a steal for the price we paid in April. Ours had been completely remodelled, so the kitchen and bathrooms were very up to date and the rest of the house was clean with a most beautiful deck overlooking the pool and a view of the ocean. If I had it to do over again, we would have rented a car as there is a nice safe parking area as the entire Villa is behind a gate with a code. otherwise cabs came readily and buses were available on the main street a few blocks away.
Yes, we felt very secure with a security system that could be set when you went out or while you slept and also there was a keyed safe in the upstairs main bedroom in the closet. Plenty of staorage there for suitcases and clothing There is plenty to keep you amused in the immediate area including restaurants and an amazing beach with several
restaurants right on the beach which is a five minute walk down a dirt road. We did a ton of walking which was pleasant enough and got us to various amenities including a lunch deli, and a more expensive grocery store and a teeny store/cafe that had very cheap good wine.. 2104 Portugal cab sav for 3.5 Euros, but even at the expensive grocery store (Apalonia)you could still buy wine pretty reasonable. Nice thing is that they handed out generous samples. Back to the Villas Rufino. The kitchen was well equipped with quality pots and pans and a decent stove and good sized fridge, plus fresh teatowels, tho no dishcloths or dish soap. so I 'd advise a grocery shop at Albis before you settle in. Also there is a decent BBQ on the patio, but you will need to buy briquettes and starter etc. Many people were using them, but we didn't bother as we were only there for a week.. Maids popped by every week day in the afternoon to see if you needed any fresh towels or linens and even a fresh tablecloth. The living room and upstairs bedroom each had a unit that could supply air conditioning or heat which we needed as it was still cool in the evenings. It was perfect for our needs.
I don't have anything negative to say as this is located in an upscale residential neighbourhood in a pretty area out of the hustle and bustle of the city. I would recommend Villas Rufino to anyone.
