Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Pleasant and personal service, the hostess came to the door. The place itself was quiet and clean, in the style of a manor house. Breakfast was made personally for us and was quite rich, the dining atmosphere very pleasant, clean. A little unpleasant surprise was no TV in the room.

A beautiful villa, located a few kilometres off th Tallinn - Narva road. A walk through the peaceful Oru Park leads you to the seaside in 15-20 minutes. There is parking space next to the villa. A very charming and friendly hostess, you feel very welcome. I had a comfortable room with wooden floor, with desk and chair and water cooker for making tea/coffee. Good bathroom and a small hall / dressing for putting your stuff. Breakfast was super, served buffet style with a lot of choice. The breakfast area is special too. Highly recommended.

Very nice and cosy place to stay when visiting East part of Estonia and best option while visiting Narva. Small "like a villa" atmosphere and warm staff makes you feel welcome. It's around 40km toward Tallinn. Amazing hostess and caviar for breakfast!

Peacefull ja cosy atmosphere. Nice beds and pillows so we slept well. Breakfast was very good and the owner was very helpful. The Oru Park is worth visiting, a great old park with lots of different kind of trees. We certainly could come again !

We stayed here for one night and we are pleased. The room was nice and nicely decorated, even had on fireplace & Wood (!) however not needed during this beautiful day. Bed was perfect and room was silent, good sleeping quality. The position is not by the beach despite the name but not far away a walking distance of 5 minutes, quite ok. Between the hotel and the sea is the Oru Park which really nice to walk in, pretty, relaxing and not crowded. - The personnel were friendly and Jana and here husband have made a very nice restoration of this old building. - The only remark we have is that the warm water took a long time to reach the tap and that is also run out when we had two shower in a row! - One thing to consider specially when travelling in this part of Estonia is to be careful with your belongings, never leave anything in the car, lock it. If you have bicycles have a very strong lock and lock it into some building parts or similar. - The area is close to Russia and once your items have been stolen and brought over the border, they are gone for ever! - But for Meretare, yes this is probably the best place to stay if you want to stay in Toils, and the restaurant Fregatt 5 min walk away will serve you the best dinner in Toils.

Our first visit but certainly not our last. The best 2 words I can find to describe this hotel aspire 'absolutely delightful'. This description can be applied to all aspects - from the warmth of the welcome on arrival, to the decor and set up of the dining room, through to the charming bedrooms. The hotel is situated just a few miles off of the main Narva/Johvi road, with the beach just a km behind the hotel. The hotel has a Spanish villa style to it. We arrived after a snow fall, but the outside tables and seating area look a wonderful place to while away time in the summer. The rooms are in two sections, with one off from the reception and the other accessed through the dining room. The rooms have a wonderful, comfortable appeal. Nice touches, such as the new pairs of slippers by the door and the board games on top of the wardrobe add to the feeling that you are honoured guests in someone's home. The bedroom includes a desk and chair (useful if you are on business), a kettle and tea and coffee, and something I find all too regularly lacking from hotels - a settee! (Who do hoteliers think we want to sit on the bed all evening?) The bathroom was spacious and the shower lovely. It was nice to have towels that resembled the sort you might have at home - not the standard, hotel white colour. One small criticism, there were no hooks to hang clean clothes while taking a shower. The dining area is really unusual - in a refreshing way. A cross between a wedding reception venue and a personal living room - the tables made you feel like really honoured guests. The breakfast (included in the price) was a mixture of continental, cereals, eggs and bacon and (a really lovely touch) - homemade bread. At €60 for a double room this hotel has a much more luxurious feel than the one would expect at this price. As we regularly journey this way I am sure it will not be our only stay - we can sincerely recommend it.

I stayed in this lovely B&B in a bitterly cold winter week when temperature stayed below minus 20 C. Visitors gathered together in front of the fireplace while our landlady prepared delicious dinner. After dinner we all continued talking till late. This is best any B&B can offer. My room was in the beginning little bit cold but after getting an additional heater everything was ok. Bath room had very warm floor. Extra point shall be given as extension cord was arranged to my car heater, which is unbelievable rare in Estonia.
