It's a rural hotel, meaning there is no staff. A bit deserted with very little atmosphere. Breakfast was disappointing with no fruit, very little choice, poor presentation, no ambiance and very old school music. This was for us the most expensive of our hotels in La Gomera (sometimes not much choice) but we got the poorest service here. Agulo is a nice town, but I would not recommend staying there. Absolutely nothing to do.
Two couples stayed here for two nights as part of a longer, predominantly walking trip to La Gomera. Agulo is a particularly pretty village with an astonishingly vertical walk up the mountain behind to a glass bottomed viewing deck and cafe/ bar at the top (cold drinks only 1.5€!). The rooms here are well kept, simple, clean and roomy. Breakfast is lovely - usual local choices plus bacon and egg(!), cereals, cheeses, ham, fresh bread and home made jams. Nice coffee. The village is very quiet and evening out dinner places limited but do exist and shouldn't put you off. We did a last minute Booking.com booking but on hearing from the lovely owner they take 15% I'd alway try and book direct to help caring, local owners who have pride in their hotels and service.
This is a rural hotel, which means it has restricted service hours. You are on your own most of the time. Breakfast is normal Spanish, exceptional local preserves. If you ask, you get good coffee. Rooms are small, bath room fine - area is quiet and near by is the village center, restaurants. Popular with people who want to hike in the terraced landscapes and mountains nearby. Good place to stay and then visit. Very nice owners who take care of you.
Lovely village, nice little B&B. Very quite on Sundays only one restaurant open and a couple bars, otherwise all good rooms are clean, continental breakfast was good. Wifi was a bit hit and miss in our room, but fine in bar dining area..
Hostess/Manager is exceptionally kind, caring, attentive. Our room was spacious, clean, elegant. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was generous and delicious. The hotel is small (that's good!), with a serene, inner courtyard. The town is the loveliest on La Gomera.
