Cliffview is a very peaceful place to stay. It is very close to the cliffs. The room was spacious with room for 4 adults. The double bed was comfortable. The room itselg was a little worn and could use some updating. Marie was very friendly and welcoming, however when we arrived someone else (not sure relationship) "greeted us" with upstairs to the left and walked away with no other information and wasn't seen again the rest of our stay. There seems to be a lot of people in and out, but not sure if they live or work there. A full Irish Breakfast was provided, however no options are given. One morning the bread served was moldy. The water in the shower was very chilly each morning.
Located in the small sleepy coastal town of Liscannor, your a 10-minute drive from the not-to-be-missed Cliffs of Moher. Marie's incredible homemade Irish breakfast is the perfect start to any day. She and Tom make you feel very welcome. As do the neighboring cows - wake to the sound of cows mooing :) CliffView Lodge is about a 4-minute drive - on tight roads! - from the center of Liscannor. In town, have lunch at McHugh's and dinner at the Cliffs of Moher Hotel restaurant. Enjoy!
If you're looking for a quaint, peaceful getaway, look no further than Marie's place. We traveled from the States into Shannon Airport--she was there to pick us up just as our plane landed. We stayed in a cute apartment that Marie and Tom converted out of their garage, separate from the house and very private. We were able to stay for two nights, and keep our room while we travelled to Dublin in the middle of our trip, upon which we returned to a clean room once again. The Irish breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious. Marie went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, and even drove us to and from the bus stop so that we could save some walking. One night, we got off the bus late, and she made us a sandwich to hold us over until morning! She even provided first aid materials to aid our blisters. Future travelers, be prepared to walk--the town of Liscannor is very rural, and the walk to the Cliffs takes about 40 minutes. The view is WELL worth the walk, however. WiFi was a bit spotty in our room, but we had perfect access at breakfast. We already miss our quiet, country escape and waking up to the cows moo-ing. HIGHLY recommend and can't wait to return :) THANK YOU!…
Cliff View Lodge is absolutely great. My first experience in a B & B couldn't have been better. We stayed at the Hilton in Dublin after leaving here, but we were sad to leave and wished we could have spent all of our time in Ireland at Cliff View. Marie is so friendly and warm, and full of helpful info. Breakfast was amazing, the room was immaculately clean, and it has all of the comforts that we needed. It's also very convenient to the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands. The price is great, and much better than staying in a regular hotel! There are also a couple of little pubs right in town. However, there is only one gas station/convenience store in the area, and everything in the little town closes early, but it's a great quiet place. Just stay at Cliff View!
We spent one night here with our two children. We had a very comfortable room with two beds and plenty of room! The host was helpful and kind. And she cooked a delicious Irish breakfast! We arrived in the evening before sunset on a clear evening and we were planning on going to the cliffs in the morning since we were tired. She gave us the best advice...go to the cliffs now because you never know what the weather will be like in the morning. And she was right! We had the most glorious evening at the cliffs and the next day was rainy and cloudy! Super convenient to the cliffs and the very small, quaint town of Liscannor.
