Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This summer we stayed a few days with Mary and John in their Sea Villa B&B. Such a warm welcome and a wonderful stay. Beautiful surroundings. We decided to stay an extra day and we will definitely come back again. After years of traveling in Ireland, for us it's the best B&B ever!

We had a wonderful stay at Sea villa. Multiple members of our family have come to stay since 1996 and the hospitality cannot be compared to! Mary and John make you feel right at home and breakfast was delicious. Greeted with Prosecco, night caps, and “Bucks fizz” to start your day…. Can’t be topped! The surrounding scenery is beautiful. The best B and B around:)

Thank you so much John and Mary for such a wonderful repeat stay at Sea Villa! I truly always look forward to this part of our Ireland holiday. Sea Villa is sure to be spotlessly clean with every modern amenity you could ask for. We were greeted with Prosecco and a lite snack. The breakfast was one of our best meals of the entire trip! Fresh brown bread, delicious coffee and a traditional irish fry made the start of our day delightful! Don't even get me started on the Bucks Fizz! Delicious! Honestly, cannot wait to go back! Thank you John and Mary!!

What incredible hosts! We arrived at Sea Villa in August 2021 while hiking the Beara Way. Mary and John were an absolute delight! Our weary bones were greeted with Prosecco to celebrate another leg of the journey done, and we were directed to the Honeymoon Suite to clean up. Our multi-course meal was delicious, and their company was so much fun. We hated to turn in, but we discovered Mary had placed caramels on the pillows and chocolate mints along with a shot of Irish whiskey and shot of Irish cream and a sweet note on the dresser! Breakfast was incredible, and the Bucks Fizz was a nice treat. Mary packed a lunch for us that was the best we've EVER had on our hikes! (She even included another round of whiskey and Irish cream to fortify us on our journey!) Back home in the US, we still talk about how great our stay was at Sea Villa. My hubby says, "I think if we lived there, we'd be their friends." The best word to describe the whole experience really is "delightful." We hope to get back there.

We stayed in Sea Villa B&B in August 2021 and from the minute we walked in the door we had the most wonderful stay. Mary & John were so welcoming and after our long journey a cold glass of precesso was exactly what we needed. Mary cooked a beautiful dinner from a great 4 course menu. Not only was the food plentiful, the company was great and we felt so at home. The ensuite bedroom was very comfortable and service wouldn’t be out of place in a 5* hotel. We had a great breakfast menu to select from and yet again Mary’s home cooking was outstanding. We cannot rate Mary and John highly enough, fabulous people, fabulous food and fabulous place to stay. We highly recommend Sea Villa and we are looking forward to going back to our next visit to relive this experience. Joan & Gary Mayo

I never leave reviews on trip advisor but this place definitely deserves one. Mary and John went above and beyond with food, drinks and hospitality, they were more than happy to spend time talking to us about the local area and pointing out things to do while on our holidays. They are full of craic and fun and really made the holiday. The rooms were finished to hotel standard and the breakfast was great!! They are constantly updating the house so its finished to a very modern yet comfortable standard. We will definitely be staying again and would highly recommend it to anyone staying near this area.

This is a gen of a place hidden in the Beara Peninsula mountains. The hosts here are second to none. We were treated to strawberry Prosecco and cheese on arrival and made most welcome. When we returned from a local restaurant there were night caps (shots of Baileys and Powers Irish whiskey) in our room. The room was spotlessly clean and well maintained with all the facilities you’d ever need. We’ve just finished breakfast (started with a Bucks Fizz - Prosecco & fresh orange juice!) and then a full Irish fried breakfast (chosen from a long menu) that was just excellent. We will be back Thanks Mary & John - we really enjoyed the craic!

We had a fabulous stay. We arrived late to the house but that didn't stop Mary providing an excellent welcome. We were given processo and nibbles which helped to unwind. We then went to our room to find a night cap waiting for us. The room was spotless, far above expectations. No rush for breakfast. Breakfast was outstanding. Huge range of options. The hosts were really lovely and made us feel so welcome for our stay. I have no problem but to highly recommend a stay here.

Best place you’ll stay in Ireland! I arrived as a guest and left as a lifetime friend! On my first stay with John & Mary they made last minute accommodations and I’m so glad they did. I enjoyed them so much that I booked another trip back within 4months to work with John on his mussel farm. Beara Peninsula is often overlooked but such a gem! If you’re looking for a authentic less touristy location, this is it! You won’t be disappointed!
