What a fantabulous place-super staff, from you personal guide to butler come waiter-the service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble, our guide Tertious was very good as was the waiter/butler Franz-the quad biking was exhilarating as was the air balloon trip predawn over the dessert. Te accommodation was comfortable and the sweet spot was a huge window/pane of glass...

We stayed at the Sossusvlei Desert Lodge for 2 nights. After a warm welcome we were shown into the room, where each of the ten rooms is a separate building. The room is huge, with a separate terrace for both the sitting / eating table and two chaiselongues on another terrace. The combined living and sleeping room is built in...

This place, the views & the deafening stillness will take your breath away. The staff are lovely, the rooms and common areas beautifully appointed. The food was good, but could do with a little refinement, particularly when it comes to vegetarian and vegan options. The activities were great and the guides have a good idea of what it is that...

Executive Summary: The Sossusvlei Desert Lodge was hands down THE best piece of rented space (hotel/apartment/etc) I have ever experienced. Full stop. I am not the most experienced traveller in the world but I know how to differentiate between different types of good hotels. Now, since SDL is positioned in the upper premium section, also price-wise, I did expect some...

We were glad this was the last lodge on our Nambia trip because it was definitely a good place to relax and unwind. Our room was lovely, large and luxurious looking out over the plain. Food was excellent and eating outside by lamplight was fun and romantic. Service was excellent and we truly appreciated the flexibility of being able to...

The setting for this lodge is very beautiful, remote, and isolated. This is good and also the weakness. The drive to the Park/Dunes is a good hour-long drive. But, if you wish to be away from everyone else, this place is beautiful, and quite self-contained with its own activities: ATV Quad bikes in the dunes, sun-setter drive + cocktails, Hot...

The staff and management went out of their way to assist us , while traveling through very tough and harsh terrains in Namibia. Temperatures were extreme and the vehicle we were traveling overheated and broke down eventually forcing us to the the vehicle there and have it towed back a week later. They checked on the vehicle and made sure...

There were little things that went wrong during this visit lowered my review. First the AC dripped all night and wasn't cooling the room. On the second night it rained and water flooded the hallway in my room. After the staff came to clean up they didn't shut the door and dozens of big flying bugs (big grasshopper like moths...

This was the tale end of my Africa trip, and honestly i think if it had been my first stop I would have been impressed. But in comparison to my other lodge it was tired. And the cost was double what I paid for at the other lodge that was updated, had award winning chefs on staff and etc. BUT...
