Detailed Reviews
Just off the main trek, convenient to the Neale Village, Ballinrobe, Cong (quiet man country) and not too far from Galway and Westport. Family run and a warm Irish welcome. Exceptional gardens a wealth of knowledge around their small museum of agricultural and other tools. Great base to explore Galway, Connemarra and beyond. The exceptional breakfast set us up for the day and hosts Monica and Jackie treat you as one of their own, genuinely lovely people.

This fantastic B&B is situated in The Neale ( or Neale depending on who you are talking to) just off the main road for Ballinrobe to Cong. The Neale is famous for the origin of the word 'Boycott' and home to one of Ireland's two pyramids and other interesting bygone historical facts that the traveller can expand upon on their visit.
My wife and I have stayed at this family run B&B several times over the years and have always come away looking forward to our next visit. The accommodation is excellent, spotlessly clean, warm, welcoming and a feeling of tranquility in manicured gardens surrounding the property.
A collection of agricultural machinery and old tools help the curious traveller explore how hard the toil of times gone by must have been while supping tea and eating home made scones in the glass walled seating area adjacent to your sleeping quarter.
Monica Clancy starts your day with a proper Irish breakfast that after a night in Mellottes pub you don't know whether to climb it or eat it.
Great people that are genuinely friendly and full of knowledge that can aid the traveller in their onward journey.
A trip well worth taking if you want to visit the 'Quiet Man Country' or don't want to be paying the extravagant prices of the nearby hotels.
We shall return again no doubt to relax with old friends I hope.

Went to stay here with my friend. My friend got there a few hours before me and she was welcomed very nicely and mannerly and then when i got there they were nice but then when i got my bags out of the car they went mad and kick us both out of the b&b and we had no where to go. we are only 17 and 18 years old. They were rude and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

We arrived and received a very warm welcome from Monica and her family. This is our second time staying here except this time we had our two children with us a we could not have been better looked after.
The rooms are clean and tidy and fresh towels every day and the breakfasts are gorgeous, homemade and it is like staying with family, very homely.
Great pub at the end of the road where Richard will have a pint waiting for you and only a 10 minute walk from the B&B. Galway is about 40 minutes away, but the jewel in Mayo's crown is the two hour drive to Keem beach, best beach in the world.
