We had a great time at Savuti and would recommend anyone to it. The sightings of game were plentiful and the physical structure was in keeping with the ethos of the Wilderness Camps - walkways and wooden structures incorporating the tents which works very well. When we got there it was over 40 degrees and the mid day heat was...

Savuti Camp was our second Wilderness Camp on our two-week safari for a girls' birthday trip. At first we thought our experience couldn't be topped, but we were wrong! We managed to get Goodman as our guide, who is a big of a local legend. Goodman was fascinating, entertaining, informative, and a joy to have as our guide. The other...

We (5 adults) just got back from a 2 week trip to South Africa and Botswana. Savuti was our 3rd camp and we were worried we would be bored because we had seen so many animals at the first two camps. Our guide Willy went out of his way to find male and female lions, hippos, tons of elephants and...

My wife and I spent 3 nights at this camp and had a fantastic time. September is a good time go because it is the middle of the dry season and the animals tend towards the rivers and water holes. Our appointed guide was Onx and he was a star. He asked what we wanted to see and worked hard...

Ah, Savuti camp. Out of the 3 camps we stayed at we rated it last. Why? Not the food, which was easily the best of the camps we were at. Not the rooms, which had the best view and were the largest of our camps. Not the general staff, again the most friendly and engaged of the camps we visited....

We just spent three nights at Wilderness Safari Savuti Camp. The staff(Annelle, Kang, and Murray and all servers) were very friendly and the food and service wonderful. Permanent tent accommodations are very nice as well. Our guide, Willy, was very good, but we we disappointed that we did not have the famous Goodman as a guide. He seemed to find...

We visited two Wildnerness Safari camps in May. Each had it's own characteristics that made it unforgettable. Savuti is located on a beautiful channel where elephants like to play. Our tour guide, Lucky, took us on an evening boat ride, during which we saw three young male elephants roughhousing and playing in the water. Truly a treat! Lucky also tracked...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Standing on the raised wooden deck of Savuti, one is able to marvel at the phenomenon of nature at work. Just beneath this remote safari camp flows the enigmatic Savute Channel, until recently a dry grassland. In 2008, the waters returned and as a result game concentrations are particularly high in the dry winter season. A thatched main area and viewing deck take in the scene, while exploring the length of the Savute and its associated woodlands by boat or vehicle is a highlight here. • 7 tents (1 family) • day and night game drives • guided walks • boating • hides ... more   less
