Linyanti Bush Camp - African Bush Camps

Certificate of Excellence
The Linyanti Bush Camp offers the perfect setting for an authentic and wild safari experience. As the only source of water in the dry months, the Linyanti marshes are one of the most sought after destinations in Northern Botswana, boasting a great diversity of game and a peaceful atmosphere. The area offers spectacular birding all year round and is best known for its large herds of elephants that move down to the Linyanti River at the start of the winter months and only move back inland once the main rains arrive. Lion, sable, roan, leopard, and wild dog are also frequent visitors to Linyanti as is the elusive sitatunga antelope, red lechwe, hippo and crocodile. Bordering the western boundary of Chobe in the Chobe Enclave, the Linyanti Bush Camp is an intimate 12-bedded tented camp on the banks of the Linyanti marshes in a private reserve. Activities from the camp include game drives, walking safaris, game viewing from hides, spot-lighting, bird watching, boating and fishing safaris as well as guided mokoro safaris, when water levels permit. Accommodation at the Linyanti Bush Camp is far from primitive with spacious tents, comfortable beds, and en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets, fixed showers and hot water.

WOW! A warm & cozy camp in the middle of nowhere. It was so amazing not to be near any other camps & not to see other jeeps while you were on game drives. We saw many elephants, hippos, buffalo, giraffes, zebras impalas, baboons, waterbuck, kudo, alligators & loads of birds. Elep

Camp gives access to some really great sightings of herds of elephants and buffalo and the helicopter trip which included as standard was excellent.
Dinner is a bit hit and miss but other meals good. Tents are well equipped but do not have a/c and get very warm

My wife and I stayed at Linyanti Bush Camp (LBC) for 4 nights on our honeymoon recently. We had just come from Khwai River Lodge in Moremi Game Reserve, which set a very high standard for us. It was admittedly a long (one hour) and bumpy 4x4 drive from the airstrip to the camp, h

Hi Alexander, this is such a beautiful review. Thank you for supplying such a thorough, intimate feedback. Our guides and staff will be overcome with joy knowing how much you appreciated their services. Like you so incredibly pointed out our staff are the heart of everything we do and through them, we achieve these magical interactions. Your feedback will add great value to other travelers in search of this experience. Despite the game not being plentiful in quantity you sure managed to spot some rare sightings! It is lovely to hear of guests being so full filled by nature and the personalities that surround them. I can't thank you enough for this wonderful input. We hope to welcome you both back in the future, happy honeymoon we are so thankful to have been a part of making it so magical.

I Was travelling solo and stayed at LBC for three nights. The camp is about a 90 minute drive from the airstrip (the only downfall), but was I arrived I was met with a warm welcome from the staff and Cassie our host. I was shown to my tent (apparently the honeymoon suite ) with a

How do you get to Linyanti by car? And what is the condition of the road? Can only find flights. Coming from Katimo. Tnx
You fly into an air strip about 45 minutes from from Linyanti and are picked up from the camp. The roads are dirt and in some places quite sandy requiring 4x4. Hope this helps

Considering visiting in January but wondered about the wildlife, as cannot find many reviews for that time of year, apart from one for December which said there were NO animals........ Also what water level can we expect during that time ? will we see any animals in the water ? Weather hot ? or manageable . Any information will be greatly appreceiated.
We saw little game but that was in July - Lots of elephants and hippo in the water. Look for Thobolo's Bush Camp the owner lives in that area and will tell you all you need to know he has INCREDIBLE game at his camp

What is the difference between the Bush Camp and Ebony? Thanks
Hi Teri M Linyanti & Linyanti Ebony are situated within the same concession, very near each other. There is a similar design and ethos to both camps, the only difference being that Linyanti Ebony is purposefully designed to be able to accommodate families and groups, whereas Linyanti Bush Camp comprises of 6 luxury tents, twins or double (triples available on request). We hope that helps, should you need any more info please hesitate to get in touch. All the best, The African Bush Camps Team

Do you offer mokoro trips in October and is there a possibility to see cheetahs, hippos and wild dogs? Are the drinks included (beer, wine and bottled water)? Is it possible to charge the batteries in the rooms? I am planning to stay in Linyanti Bush Camp in October 2016 and will be solo. Thank you
Dear Stamatis C Thank you for your query. I can confirm that the Mokoro safari experience is dependant on the water levels. The Linyanti waterways and their water levels are reliant on both rainfall and overflow of water from Angola so it is really dependant on what the rains are like between now and April as to whether the water levels allow for mokoro safaris. We were able to offer mokoro safaris in October this year. We have had sightings of Wild Dog on our Linyanti Concession and had a fantastic sightings of 12 Wild Dogs just over a week ago, however one can never guarantee sightings of predator species as they tend to have a large territory which they traverse, particularly in the more remote areas. Cheetahs are not a common sighting in the Linyanti but it is likely that you will see Hippos. As answered previously by Robin W, I can confirm that all beverages are included (excluding premium brands) and there are charging stations in the Main area for your batteries. We look forward to welcoming you to Linyanti in October 2016 and sharing some fantastic wildlife experiences with you. Warmest Regards The Linyanti Team

Is the helicopter ride always included? We will be staying there in July and would like the ride.
Thank you very much for your enquiry regarding helicopter flights at Linyanti. I can confirm that all guests staying with us between 1st April and 30th November will be offered a half hour scenic helicopter flight as part of the experience. Should you wish to conduct a longer helicopter flight or additional flights, these will come at a surcharge and we would recommend you contact your Travel Agent in order for this to be arranged prior to your arrival. We look forward to welcoming you to Linyanti Bush Camp and sharing an authentic safari experience with you. Kindest Regards African Bush Camps and the Team at Linyanti Bush Camp

"One side of camp is designed for couples while the other is for families."
"All six luxury tents are identical as far as I know."
"Tent #10 - "family tent" had 2 rooms. It was also the only tent on that side of the camp so I would say more private as well."
"All the rooms have good views of the bush."
"Room 5 is close to the centre of things"
