Hotel Aphrodite Palace /former hotel Velka Fatra/ has been opened in April 2014. It offers its guests 111 rooms in various categories. The hotel has an accurate location, right in the center of the spa town. The complete reconstruction lasted two years. The hotel, hotel Aphrodite, the Spa center and outdoor and indoor Water world are connected with a glass bridge. The breathtaking restaurant and lobby, decorated with marble, onyx and 24-carat gold, are dominating the new hotel. The a la carte concept of APHRODITE PALACE restaurant was set together under the supervision of Marian Filo, chief, who served meals for the British or Dutch queen. New trends of the international gastronomy as well as the traditional domestic specialties are being prepared here.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.

We stayed for 3 days as a family (4 adults). Overall we were satisfied, but there is still some potential for improvement. Here are the pluses and minuses:
+ Nice pools + Nice and polite staff + Very pretty hotel + Massages were very good
- Staff in the restaurant was very slow and made very often mistakes - One day they decided to clean the pool without letting the guests know - It was too hot in the rooms, had to have the window opened at all times
Overall we were satisfied, but for that price we have expected better service in the restaurant. Could be also caused by corona and the problems with staff caused by corona. I would recommend a stay in this hotel.

We go to this hotel regularly. Luxury and perfect relaxation for me. We never found anything that didn't work. Perfect food, lots of perfect food, smiling and nice staff. Wellness is constantly expanding, saunas and swimming pools super. If you head here, don't forget to visit the bar made from the bank's vault with coronation jewels, we asked about it at the reception and provided us with a person who told us something about history. I can only recommend for us.

Room Tip:Choose accommodation in the Palace rather than in the hotel, the rooms are nicer

like not being in Slovakia but in ancient Greece. Nice interior and outside, not too crowded at night but just ok. Took 3 hours ticket for 25 eur, yes it is expensive! but you have plenty of pools, saunas (liked group animation by staff in finish one). Professional and friendly staff. The only thing I didn't like was extremely dirty water in both turkish pools outside. Looks like they change the water very rarely and/or people come to clean themselves in these pools.

Extremely overpriced place with few swimming pools full of people. This is one of the most overrated places I have ever been to. Luckily we purchased only 2 hours entry ticket (left after 90 minutes) , which is more than enough. The place is nothing extra, SPA and wellness for a more reasonable price. Waste of time and waste of money

A positive feature - the hotel is connected to the spa with healing thermal water and you get free access to the whole spa when stayig at the hotel and book trough the hotel directly. Negatives: overpriced for what it is and for the service/quiality they provide! I have visited before and the quality of food in the restaurant deteriorated sooo much. It is the shame to charge the price for what you get! Moreover, the evening bufet is not suitable for vegetarian/vegan persons! No vegetarian main course! Service unprofessional - hired Ukrainian servers, who do not speak and understand Slovak and I doubt that they would understand English. Moreover, they are not properly trained in service. The life music at dinner was a shame- cannot sing! A lot of gytch around the whole hotel. Parking far. The pillow in the bed soft, no choice of pillows. Much overpriced - including massages, rolm service etc. They misuse the monopoly position on the healing water they have! Even though I was a regular, will not visit again! The hotel Aphrodite is interconnected - the same restaurant znd spa areas.

Very nice rooms, building, view. I appreciate everything is in one style. Antic but modern. I just missed space for drying wet towels. Amazing food and continental breakfast. Pools and Wellness is in other building.

I really enjoyed my time in the SPA part, amazing new world for me. Wast offer of saunas (tried them all) with very nice procedures going on. However, I got really disappointed when I could not find my Aphrodite's towel coming back to the hanger and I got to pay the fee (5 eur extra) for loosing it. How can you loose the towel there, my question here. Is this place really in need of money even after paying 28 eur per 3 hours stay? Unfortunately this experience destroyed all the relaxation before.

We've been here recently with my wife after having another nice stay in different venue and we've been making comparison (unfortunately). Actually to be honest this hotel and spa is a bit overpriced and totally commercial. I do not wanna say that they do not have good services, but to compare it price-wise I must say I did not get for my money what I expected. Try to imagine - you reserve stay via booking.com (without issue and this I'd say is very good) and coming to hotel - they asking for immediate payment of stay (unbelievable - just about 5% of hotels are asking this... but why?), on top of that lady at desk after creating bill is explaining that strange thing on bill is payment due to booking via booking.com!! 10€... I really do not care if this is booking.com or hotel, but I do not wanna see it on my bill. Another thing - they asking to pay in cash local tax and there is not other option? I have tons of suggestions for hotel management if they wanna get them.. But to finish in positive way - they have really very good offer of different food during breakfast and also dinner, I'd really appreciate the way they are preparing menu, selection etc. - this is for sure what I expect from 4 stars hotel.

The hotel lobby and dining area are opulent, the rooms large, clean and very nice, we had 2 rooms on the 4th floor over looking the thermal pools. If you like what you see in the pictures than you will love the place as it is even nicer in real life. Free parking with valet service, and pretty good breakfast included in the room rate. The pool area is even nicer at night with every thing lit up and open late. There are many different pools with different temperatures of water in each from cool to warm to hot, again these are thermal spring waters with healing properties from the different minerals present in the water. It was a perfect one day stay and we would not hesitate to return if ever in the area again.
