Have stayed 2 nights in this hotel I have to write that in my opinion this is not a four star. As I entered into reception, I was surrounded by the ancient world as everything was cerrespondendt to the name of the hotel. A baggage man showed me the room and as I came in I was srprised. The room was so small, that one could feel as he enterd into roon in 2star bed&breakfas. On the other hand wi-fi worked well and everything necessary (flat tv, safe, mininbar, hotel cosmetics..) was in. The hotel offers quite good range of spa- from termal pools to sauna and massages. The food offered in hotel restaurant (is situated in another Aphrodite palace hotel which is joined with the Aphrodite hotel with a tunnel) was of good range and quite tasty. But as I wrote, the rooms are very small, which is a pitty and an obstacle to give higher rating.

The spa itself looks very nice, however, the quality of the customer service and the attitude of personell was horrible (arrogant). In addition, we had to pay 35 EUR more that we were not supoposed to pay, just because of internal problem they were unable to solve. This experience has completely changed my opinion about the spa, which is a pity!

I spent some 4 days in the hotel in autumn 2014. Just before writing my review I surprisingly found 4 “terrible” ratings and I quickly read them. It looks like they were in some other place, but maybe it is a change of time.
At the time of my stay, the hotel had been short after a big reconstruction, some rooms were but still to be done. We had got a superior room with white furniture, pretty furnished with above-average for a 4-star hotel. The hotel claims to spend 10kg of gold for decorations, there is a lot of various glass enrichment, marble and other stones, etc. Actually I (and not only me) found it to much excessive. The staff was very obliging and there were lot of them in the lobby, however during the dinner (we had a hardboard) we had to wait very long sometimes. If you pay some surcharge, you can get a separate waitress, which cares for you, but then they pay less attention to other clients, so actually the overall staff-willingness suffers. There was life music of good quality every evening, wine tasting (free of charge) and other events.
The hotel is interconnected with the pools and wellness area with a tunnel which leads through the area in the stage of reconstruction. The pools are nice, mainly on the night when they are beautifully enlightened. The sauna section is an average level, when we came one day at morning, all facilities except the classical finish sauna were cold yet. The girls there were active, nice and very helpful.

Overall I can rate this hotel very good, if only all the four-star hotels were this quality.

I have been on health-cures all thru Europe, THIS was the worst one I have ever had to experience!!........I don't quickly complain, but THIS hotel has NOT 4 stars, in my opinion not even ONE star!! The arrogence, half of my treatments simply cancelled, having to sleep in a room where I could not open the windows in mid-summer because they were re-building, on monday morning I stepped from my room into the hall-way and I was looking outside, they broke out the windows, had to climb over the rumble, the dust was 5 inches thick in my room, other people in our group were provided with beds WITHOUT matrasses (mind you, we talk about people retired due to sickness here!!)......the response of the hotel??......WE CAN DO NOTHING FOR YOU!!............
MY ADVISE..........STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had stayed at this hotel in July 2008 only for one day to enjoy the spa services. Aphrodite is a thermal spa in beautifull setting surrounded by nature and lovely parks. The building is also stunning full of history and interior is very clean. Saying all this praise i must stress the major problem this hotel has. It is its own staff who are not friendly at all. Most of them are rather miserable and unwilling to do anything outside of their job description. Even something as little as a smile seemed to have been a huge struggle for 99% of its staff! How very disappointing. We arrived at the hotel for our pre-booked spa treatments on time. Having not been there before we proceeded in our own directions thinking towards the treatments rooms. 15 minutes later we were told it was the wrong place where we were waiting. Then we moved to the correct waiting room and 10 minutes later we were provided with our first treatment(though we had to change in a mixed female-male changing room). Then we waited for our second treatment(massage). Not knowing where to wait or what to do we just waited for our name being called very loud(we felt like school kids). A man(masseur) with very miserable face asked one of us to follow him. There he asked me to take my clothes off and lay on the table while he was still present in the room. I found this very uncomfortable. So I asked him to leave the room and he gave me the most surprised look. Well I like my privacy while getiing undressed infront of strangers! Then after my massage I joined my other half in the waiting room. After 15 minutes we had to ask when my partner will be massaged. We only found out that he missed his chance(even it was pre-paid) because he didn't place his receipt on the appropriate table. And after speaking to "my" masseur we found out that the other masseur was already working on another client and "my" masseur wasn't doing his colleague's job even he was only standing there for past 20 minutes doing nothing! After such a poor customer service we decided to ask for a refund and leave the hotel as soon as possible. The woman at the reception gave us my partner's massage money back but she didn't forget to throw the money on the desk and didn't spare single look at us or an appology. We left feeling very stressed out and unhappy even we were hoping to unwind and relax at a place like this. So for us it is a NO GO again hotel.

I have not been in this hotel for at least 8 years and I will not come -next 8 years. I stayed in this hotel for 4 night with my family.

Room - I have never seen a room in 4-star hotel without any serious window (please see the picture). They call my room family room with roof windows but they are not roof windows but hatches in a ship. You can not even seriously tell if there is a sun outside or thunder storm. Seriously, this room is 2-star bed and breakfast level. When I tried to complain about the room the receptionist politely explained that I am the only one who was complaining and all family rooms were the same. I was told that regular rooms were even smaller. Later the reception called and offered me bigger room (apartment) for extra money. I refused because I wanted 4-star room for 4-star price and not 2-star from for 4-star price.

Food - Food is provided in sister hotel (5-star) Aphrodite Palace but the quality is really low. Mainly very heavy food is served (al lot of fried meat and potatoes ....). I would expect that food should be more healthy style especially if you are in spa.
You have to come early for breakfast or dinner because if the food runs out, they will not add additional but replace it with something "cheap".

Spa/Swimming pool - definitely not for kids. This hotel is more spa than hotel with pool. On the other hand, spa services were great and without any problems.

Services - are on the lower level. People look at you like you are not customer but someone who is bothering them.

Conclusion - Will I come again any time soon? No. Will I recommend it to any family with kids? No.

In small double room was very old fashioned furniture. Very poor for four stars hotel. Receptionist was very arrogant. My opinion is that is absolutely not true that this hotel can have 4 stars.

Living myself in Slovakia, I have been to most of the existing SPAs in the country, Aphrodite is simply just a show off... Everything appears and looks good but an important point which they should improve is the SERVICE! The staff is acting (90%) like you annoy them especially because almost nobody speaks English... Hotel room was ok but the bed was not silent (each movement made the bed crack). Regarding the restaurant, the buffet is on the Average, nothing special. To sum up, not a 4 star but a low grade 3 star (expect for the SPA architecture)

This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience; clean, good food, fine facilities if a little 'style over substance' but never the less, it was a good value place to unwind and enjoy the spa. The noise from building works on site was slightly distracting. However, if you want to save money, the Lido a few moments down the road is just as enjoyable, especially for families.

Current rooms in the main building are in a definite need for refurbishing although they express the original character of the hotel. Reception is 'over the top' . In fact the spa is ' over the top' as well if we talk about 'taste'. But once you are in the pools .......and it is dark.... the lights start and turn the outdoor spa into a wonderful area.
