Quite s new hotel with well appointed rooms, close to many skiing resorts in the heart of the High Tatra mountains. We had half-board with amazing breakfast and culinary dinners with different these each evening. We loved the indoor pool and tge wellness center with different saunas and steam rooms. Attentive and service-oriented staff. Wonderful stay snd hope to be soon back!
We have just retuned from a fabulous weekend break away to Hotel Hills. It catered for us all, going above and beyond other experiences we have had so far. Our two children, 7 and 10 ,absolutely loved the swimming and wellness which were both comfortable relaxing and fun. :) My husband and I were able to relax in view of our excited children. An added bonus was the evening entertainment put on by the hotel, allowing my husband and I quiet time with a drink in the lounge. (an absolute novelty.) There was ample room for all four of us in the lux suite. The quality and choice for breakfast and dinner was indulging to say the least, in so that It was difficult to choose what NOT to eat! All in all, if you are looking for a good quality value for money family friendly Hotel Hills has it all. We will certainly be back. (again and again and again).…
We were amongst the first guests arriving in a mid of June 2021 after a renovation. They did a great job with the decoration and furnishing. We had an amazing 3-night stay we spent outside in the High Tatras and in the Hotel Wellness, which is great. Several saunas, a large pool, whirlpool, garden and resting room, and the outside pool with an amazing view. The room was convenient enough for a couple. However, some amenities weren't available (e. g. hairdryer, hangers, mugs, or kettle). However, we believe it has been solved until now, as it was the very opening weekend after a long period and renovation. The buffet table offered plenty of options for meat-eaters. I felt, however, a bit more options for vegans and vegetarians are needed. I could use only side dishes, but not fully vegan or vegetarian meals. Coffee and tea were not fully available as well. Had to pay for it individually. That is not a standard for a 4-star hotel. Overall, we had an amazing stay, and we hope to come back again soon.…
We’ve been on couples holiday with friends and spent 3 nights. Hotel is modern and clean. Staff were pleasant and helpful at all sections (reception, restaurant, wellness) that we’ve visited. Rooms were nice and equipped with all essentials. Receptionist advised us that there is no hairdryers in rooms but we could borrow one from reception if needed. I’m used to having my room automatically cleaned daily when I’m staying in hotels, but here you needed to put sign on doorknob if you require cleaning. Wellness was amazing. There were few saunas, pool and indoor and outdoor jacuzzi. Bar inside of the pool was awesome way to watch football game 😀. On our penultimate visit of wellness there seemed to be some issue with heating of pools. One of the guests went to notify staff about not so warm water in outdoor jacuzzi, which was later on fixed, but lead to drop in temperature of indoor pool. We’re on few sauna ceremonies with one guy, who wasn’t that bad, but his ceremonies weren’t as relaxing as they could’ve been or as it was with the other guy on our last ceremony. That person asked us what we know and/or expect from ceremonies and we’ve all liked it much better. One of cons of wellness (or housekeeping?) was that sometimes there was lack of bedsheets/towels. Biggest disappointment was in restaurant. Staff were polite and helpful - lending us their corkscrew so we can open wine at our rooms; making us breakfast packages to take with us on early morning trips. BUT after experiencing much better service at Hotel Horizont last year (next door hotel with same owners), it was upsetting that this hotel doesn’t follow same standard. I understand that you won’t put a full trays of all the dishes 5 minutes before the restaurant closes and all the guests were already in restaurant. But I don’t understand how can I go for dinner one hour (out of 3) before closing and see like quarter of the trays, that were usually used, empty. Obviously you can never satisfy everyone, but some of the dishes were very poor. Bacon barely cooked yet so tough, beans in tomato sauce that require near to zero prep time and skills and are usually available at every breakfast buffet weren’t served; soups were most likely just bouillon cubes dissolved in water with bag of frozen veg. Dinner deserts were mostly just fruit and poppy cakes because other stuff was probably eaten by early guests and never replaced. Although I got bit too excited about writing this review (specially about food part), visit was pleasant and I may consider future visit as there weren’t major flaws which could be fixed if management will listen to “complaints”…
I was there with kids we haveing a good time and stuff very helpful. When I'm planning to go Poprad area that's the best place to check in first.Flight to Poprad taxi car rental rental car hotel hills very easy way to spend holiday.
Such a pleasure to come back here…the coziest hotel we’ve ever been to or how the Danish would say such a “hygge” hotel. Because we’ve been here so many times I will just emphasize some changes, maybe not many people know, but they changed the owner, therefore there were some changes… CONs: One of the best things that Hotel Hills used to have it, was the massage area, you can check on their website. Unfortunately, the new owner moved the massage into ONE room in the sauna area. I understand that they want to move it to be close to the SPA area, but Mr. please arrange something more appropriate to a massage area. Because the one room existing in December was horrible, no candles, steamy and heat smell, noisy like hell due to the air humidifier machine running and such a small room!!!! That’s not a relaxing room! All the coziness from before was gone, no tea ritual ceremony, no warm lighting, no relaxing area, no oil burners in the room, no music…this was the ugliest surprise we had there… The sad part is that the receptionist didn’t bother to inform us about the changes and maybe , the saddest part was that the massage area still existed downstairs, but they moved the massage in the ONE room…unbelievable sad...You know, Mr. New Owner people DO care about the massage and the area in which is taken… The second best thing Hotel Hills used to have was the fire burning in the fireplace. It was so “hygge” to take dinner each evening after a long ski/snowboard day to a table next to the woods burning in the fireplace. Please light again the fire in the fireplace, it was so cozy and relaxing.. That light in the restaurant was like “home”… PROs: One of the best things was the person performing the massage (a Slovakian man who worked in England, therefore his very good English, such a bliss in Slovakia). Don’t get me wrong the Thailand ladies were also so good with massage, but man this guy knows how to massage. It was very relaxing, especially on the back. A little piece of advice, maybe it’s time to change the names of the massages in the pricing list, because what the Thailand ladies were performing is very different to what Mr. Slovakian is doing. They fixed the problem with the relaxing music in the SPA area, which was wonderful, now you can indeed relax there with some good relaxing music. The food was still delicious, this year was Swedish style, no more a la carte…but it was good. The only problem was, that if you wanted to have more courses to choose, you had to serve dinner latest 7.30 pm, because round 8.00 even the dessert was gone and they were not eager to replace it, only if you told them…although the dinner was served between 6 – 9 pm The rooms still very clean, including the SPA area, the showers in the pool area needed some fixing but that can happen with so many people there in high season. They translated in English the New Year’s Eve Menu!!!!! Yeeeei, eventually! The New Year Programme was also ok, fun. Too bad the Mr. Peter Ondria didn’t sing longer, he was so good. I think maximum 30 -40 mix he sung. It was a Cabaret night theme, very nice idea. Our daughter was supposed to come with us, but she changed her mind, therefore we had an extra ticket for the New Year’s Eve, but the staff there were so nice, that they reimbursed our cash, so with the 50 EURO we paid our additional drinks costs and even got some butter cream and oil massage prepared by Hotel Hills. Such a professionalism from them. Thank you Hotel Hills for all the beautiful days and nights we have spent there!…
We spent there 2 nights with my family and really loved location of hotel, food , rooms and service. Will definetely be back again. From check in till check out we had enjoyed each moment there. Breakfast and dinner including in our rate were absolutely amazing. Wellnes really relaxing after saying in mountains.
It's our second time in the hotel. This time the New Year Programme was better than 3-4 year ago...The band was very nice and they even had a tombola with awesome presents!! The only problem we had again, was with the language, they simply don't want to learn English:-) or any other language, we tried German, Hungarian, Italian, but nothing...Except for the receptionist during the day shift and the awesome chef, you'll hear some words like enjoy your meal, coffee and that's it:-) There is one young guy at the bar who has a small vocabulary and one waiter who can understand a bit of German…but imagine in 8 days which is your luck to catch them on the shift:-d The other thing that we did not like was that, they were playing the radio in the relaxing room!!!:-(((( who wants to listen to the news in the relaxing room??? I've notified them 2 times, but nothing...The good parts are still there: clean room, awesome sauna, clean water, cozy place, delicious food! PS: Pay attention to one waiter, a small and thin man who will get scared of you if you speak with him in another language:-)) He tried to serve us one time during dinner and when he heard our language he simply left and totally ignored us:-))It was too complicated for him to ask us to move to another table, because that one had no cutlery. Instead of coming with the cutlery he simply ignored us:-) and another waiter served us. Our guy with enjoy your meal:-) He is very nice!…
Excellent hotel, great location - 2 km to Tatranska Lomnica and other tourist routes, and train station. Spa helps to relax after 15 km walking around Tatra hills. We also had a great view to Tatra mountains.
Third but last visit at this hotel for my family. The quality of service is declining YoY. Service level below the 2 star hotel average from the first step in to the last after 3 nights. Breakfast very poor. Hardly can anybody recommend.
