We stayed at Glasson Stone Lodge for 2 nights recently while attending a wedding nearby and it was an absolutely fabulous place to stay. The rooms are inviting, spacious and so clean. There was a wide selection of toiletries available in the bathroom which is a nice touch for a bnb, anything we could have needed was there. The shop next door has a lovely deli and coffee area so not having breakfast included wasn’t a problem, it was actually nice not to be rushing to get up for breakfast in the morning. The owner Carmel was such a lovely, friendly person to deal with that we would love to come back to stay again and explore the village more.

We couldn't have asked for more from this accommodation for our short stay for a bank holiday wedding at Glasson Lakehouse just round the corner.

The accomm is well furnished, cosy, clean and comfortable. It's a modern rustic style i'd call it and has everything you'd need for a short stay including extra toiletries like hairspray for example so that was a nice added extra which it turned out I needed the day of the wedding! As two couples taking two rooms we pretty much felt like we had the place to ourselves even though there were other guests staying because their room was in a seperate part of the house I believe so we were able to spend time in the lounge the first evening with the roaring fire and relax into the stay.

We also went to Fernhill garden centre for breakfast at the host's recommendation which was just what we needed as the food was great.

The host Karmel really couldn't have done more. She was so lovely and we felt right at home the moment we arrived. She was very relaxed and left us to settle in after our long journey too. My partner and I even returned back after the wedding having forgotten our keys and in the late of night she answered the phone and with incredible kindness helped us get back into our room! I was mortified but she didn't make us feel guilty in the slightest. Thank you for being a stand out host and I wish you all the best Karmel!

Five stars all round, thank you! 🌟

Stayed here for a wedding at the Lakehouse (who annoying cancelled our original booking and offered another room at 3x the price) and it was a superb location for that.

The lodge its self is super cozy, with a nice big clean room that was perfect for a two night stay.

The best feature is Carmen the host, who is just super friendly and welcoming. Would stay again without a second thought.

We stayed just one night in Glasson Stone Lodge and are already trying to figure out when we can get back for another stay. Carmel, the owner, couldn't have been nicer, more helpful and welcoming. She gave us great recommendations for both dinner and breakfast and was a really lovely, warm host.

The accommodation itself is spotlessly clean and beautifully quirky. It felt homely and the rooms were very spacious with clean bathrooms and good hot showers.

The pub is a 3 min (slow) walk away from the accommodation and is a great little spot with delicious food. Carmel herself followed up our visit with a thank you text which was a lovely touch.

All in all, we had such a nice stay and would recommend it highly to anyone looking for a break away in the athlone area.

We had a wonderful stay here. It was warm and cozy. Big deck and BBQ. Amazing view. The hosts were so welcoming and let us use their kayaks. It was close to Athlone and we made day trips to Galway and the cliffs of Moher. We would definitely stay here again.

Had a lovely stay in the Stone Lodge this weekend. Only ten minutes from Lough Ree and Athlone and right in the village of Glasson - which has a decent shop and a few restaurants. Hosts very nice and accommodation lovely! Worth a try in you are looking for self catering n the area!

Great location, gorgeous room and a wonderful host. I met with a friend from Dublin and I travelled from Galway to have a catch up. Perfect stop for a girlie night away. 2 min from the village and next door to a centra. The owner Carmel is a lovely friendly lady, she gave recommendations for food and even had a taxi mans number to hand. All in all beautiful accommodation and location. Will be planning my next catch up very soon again.

We checked into what we would consider to a pretty average B & B, when asked what time would we like our breakfast we were informed that 9.30 was the latest with no negociations!!.
The room was spotlessly clean although the ripped cling film covered bench was taking it to the extreme!.
Bed linen was appalling with linen bought from Penneys six years ago and now practically thread bear.
The final straw that broke the camels back was in the morning (after not making our 9.30am breakfast due to it being a Sunday morning and having left the children at home!) when we turned on the shower there was a tiny trickle of water - when we checked in I noticed how clean the shower was (great!) but of course it is never used.
So basically our bed (with no breakfast or shower) cost us the princely sum of €80.00!!! and who said rip off ireland is dead & gone!!!

Before I give my review I would just like to start I have never written a review on trip advisor before as most places I have stayed in were good to excellent but felt I had to put pin to paper so to speak here....Booked a single room for one night and never again! €55 on departure, only €50 via website (€3.50 booking fee), The lady of the house tried to convince me it was cheaper to book direct through her! she then touted for more business on the phone whilst I was making my booking as she had no other clients at that particular time for that night! I was asked what time would I arrive "as we are going out ourselves"! On arriving I was asked what type of breakfast did I want....followed by scrambled egg! I did not think I was getting an option so said scrambled will do...I did get a re-cooked wrinkly sausage and a half of cold tomato!!! next I was asked what time do you want breakfast as "we are going to mass in the morning"! There are no curtains on the window only a drape and the room was cold (rem it is a stone lodge!), I felt a pair of curtains would have given a warm feel as well as keeping the cold out! Most B&Bs now offer a cup a tea on arrival but nothing was offered! I gave her the money on departure and just about got a thanks! not worth €55, not sure she really wants to be in the hospitality business or has the personality for it! I am an Irish person and wondered what overseas clients would think of the welcome!

I can't speak highly enough of our stay again here with Carmel. It is not our 1st time staying here and we look forward to this time every year. Carmel is fantastic and so very helpful. The rooms are spotless and so comfortable, the little touches with the little basket in the bathroom are brilliant. Carmel thank you for everything again this year, see you next year!!!
