Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Would not have time to write all the faults I found service was a joke .food was awful spa was not great but my treatment was excellent. Left hotel for the last 3 nights to go and have dinner in the Hudson Bay hotel. They should put numbers on tables so the server knows who ordered what they brought out from kitchen. I'm sorry to say I would not return to the hotel again. Tables in Bobby's were not clean and bottle of
water was filthy.

Relaxing mid week break - Laura at reception was excellent, really helpful and went the extra mile for us. Outdoor pool was a big hit but very busy with small children as it was mid term break. Would be great to have towels available at the pool! The hot tub experience was very relaxing and it was nice to have the option to have a drink there, could be a little more private though - screens perhaps? Service in Bonnies was slow, suggest the serving staff get focused training & team building as they seemed inexperienced & not hugely happy! Overall a lovely family time in beautiful surroundings, we will definitely be back!

We recently spent two days/nights in this hotel. First impressions very impressive - fabulous grounds, very friendly receptionist, very nice large old style room etc. Deal included B & B for two nights. Had dinner on night 1. Food good though not overly hot and a scarcity of vegetables. €7.90 for a pint of Carlsberg is beyond my pay scale (€5.50 over the road!). Breakfast was mediocre with a very slow service. Disappointing that they had an outdoor pool only - in this weather! Not even a jacuzzi. I did have a fabulous massage though. At checkout they said that their 'system showed' that we had lunch on the previous day, which we did not. On investigation they said that the computer was 'kicking up' and accepted our word. Also we had to remind them that there was a credit of €20 in our account (from a prepaid voucher). Overall a good experience apart from those issues.

Outstanding hotel. We enjoyed our stay from the second we arrived. The location and scenery are just beautiful. The decor and whole vibe of the hotel was just so relaxing and special. It was my partners birthday and the staff went above and beyond to make it special for us adding balloons and a banner to the room and also at dinner brought out his desert with a candle. This was so thoughtful and we appreciated it very much. Food was beautiful, Bonnie’s dinner menu if you weren’t a foodie you’d struggle to know what each dish was, simple dishes and we were very happy with our food but the descriptions of each main or starter were just a little mind boggling but the food was delicious. Tom’s bar was gorgeous and cozy also the wings and nachos were divine! Bedroom was decorated fabulously I couldn’t fault it and there was a huge selection of snacks and a mini bar everything you could need should you need it. We were so impressed. Only down to the room was the shower temperature couldn’t be regulated, it was overly hot so we didn’t get to use it. Hot tubs were lovely but thought slightly over priced for what they were, 1hr for €40 and I have to say the water could have been hotter I think the tub might have been filled a long time before we got there, also screens between tubs would be nice for privacy as they are very close to one another and there’s zero privacy. Also location of the outdoor pool is a bit odd, in full view of the restaurant which is not ideal if your stripping out of your robe to a togs in view of a full restaurant.
Above all we enjoyed the stay and will be back!

Well I won't be going back! Staff made a big deal about being asked for two beds in a lakeview room, then got us the two beds but overlooking the car park!, then did find us one with two beds with a lakeview but tried to charge us another forty euro! Not a bit impressed. Got a bowl of soup in the bar that was a very small portion and one slice of bread!

Four of us went for lunch to Bonnies restaurant. I had previously gone for dinner so wasn't that keen on going as it was underwhelming but as the other three people wanted to see the renovations. We waited an hour for our lunch, the glasses and cutlery were unclean and we had to get them changed. The table had been cleaned with a dirty cloth and was stained, we got it cleaned again and when it was rubbed dry by us with a napkin it was brown! We did not get our drinks and had to ask for them, apparently. they had not been put in with our order. We had to ask a second time for a further drink after it had been ordered. The staff appeared disinterested and lacked training. It seemed there was little customer service experience among them. The tables were not cleared after the customers left and dishes etc were there for some time. There did appear to be sufficient staff but not efficient staff. There were two positives, when the food eventually came it was good and an older lady who brought out our food was doing her best to make up for the lack of cleanliness and efficiency and was helpful. The food was expensive and the standard of cleanliness was not good enough.

We have stayed twice now in Glasson, one as a couple and the 2nd as a large family group! I adore the place The views, outdoor pool, hot tubs, amazing spa. The dining options too did not disappoint, Tom's bar for a more casual affair and Bonnie's for dinner and breakfast. We stayed with Kids in August 22, and they absolutely loved the playground, we ordered dinner kids went out to play, and came I'm when food was served, it really felt like a break! Love to good trucks too gives extra food choices with picky kids!! We will be back!

Myself and my husband just had 2 nights for our anniversary. We upgraded to Lakeside view with balcony. The room was amazing, everything in it incl. fridge with fully stocked bar. The views and amenities are exceptional. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. The food was fabulous although a little over the top for my liking. I struggled to find something on menu as I prefer plain food but what we had was cooked perfectly. We ate there first evening and went out the next night. We were on our own but our grandchildren would have loved that playground and outside heated pool. We saw people taking advantage of boating on the small lake. To be honest, it was just heaven, I didn't want to leave. Would most definitely return.

I have stayed in many 5 star hotels across America,Canada, and Europe and glasson lake house is in my top 3.
The grounds and golf course are impeccable, the interior and rooms are world class,as are the food.
My highest regards go to the team of staff members. At a time of staff shortages and retention issues worldwide, glasson have the same exceptional team of staff each time we visit and I cant compliment Claire enough.
Having dealt with her on a business trip,on our honeymoon, and a valentines weekend stay. she went over and above each time to make it a life memory .can't recommend highly enough,on par with any 5 star i have stayed in but the staff make it shine well done ladies and gentlemen 👏

Lovely sceanary and location, pity about the service provided. Decor of bedrooms and corridors very drab and dark. Not recommended for an enjoyable stay. Maybe in six months time when the running operations are more established, it might be good but at the moment, there are too many faults.
