Beautiful hotel in a truly stunning country, I have stayed here several times and it never ceases to impress. A warm and friendly welcome from the owners, delicious food prepared with local ingredients, comfortable and cosy rooms. Thanks again!

Ansolutely charming and beautifully decorated hotel. Really adds to the ambience of being in the french countryside. Located on a quaint village square with a few resaurants and bakeries. There is also a grocery store near the parking lot which is useful. Visiting the basque country was a breath of fresh air. Beautiful drives and scenery paired with excellent food.

A pleasant hotel very imaginatively set up inside an old building with lots of beams and corners. We had a wonderful room with a balcony and large wet room. The hotel is right in the centre of the village. The dining room is quite small and cramped but the food is very good indeed. Everything was good however the service...

My 40 year old son and I reached the town of Sare and the hotel Arraya on the second day of our walk from the coast (Handaye) arranged by Max Adventure. Extremely pleasant stay for one night after our walk. A good dinner with excellent service, attentive and friendly reception desk. Pretty throughout the hotel. Look for the large Pelote...

I have stayed there before, and on Wednesday I took two of my Real Tennis playing colleagues for lunch. After a warm welcome, my friends have both announced their intention to stay (with their wives!) at a future date, and we took lunch on the terrace. The new chef is a genius! It was the best value meal, no, the...

Excellent hotel, room and food. Pleasant village in a beautiful area. Spoilt by the attitude of the owner/manager, condescending, verging on rudeness. The whole hotel seemed unbearably tense, and on our second evening we ate elsewhere simply to be able to feel relaxed.

Friends recommended The Arraya to us and boy were they right. The owners are wonderful, every room is atmospheric, and the food is too notch. We stayed two days and explored the area, which is rich and culturally fascinating, but nothing matched the Arraya itself. We are going back in September 2017. It's one of France's best kept secrets.

We had only arranged to stay at this hotel for one night which was a shame as it's the sort of place where you would like to stay longer. The hotel has a nice position in the pretty little village, it is housed in a beautiful historic building, decorated tastefully and is family run. The dinner and breakfast were very...

We had booked 1 night in this hotel and even made a detour to stay here, as it looked a quite original town and hotel. Sare itself is indeed a nice small little village (with 1 very good butcher !) and the hotel is well placed in the middle of it. Upon arrival we had to wait almost 15 min....

We were a couple travelling through from France to northern Spain and stopped here to stay in a village atmosphere in the basque area. The experience at the hotel was very enjoyable with pleasurable interaction with the managers family including seeing their young son attend church straight across the square. We were also looking to visit the Rhune railway and...
