The hotel was generally very good for the price. The breakfast buffet was also really nice. The only problem was that even though the hotel is near the airport it is difficult to travel here on foot. We paid 20 euros for a two kilometer taxi ride to the hotel which we though found out offered transport to the airport for 15 euros. Still a lot of money for this short way. We ended up walking to the airport the next day although it was not optimal.

I hold Royal Ambassador / Spire Elite status since the last 21 consecutive years. I had stayed at this property several times previously and was always very satisfied. My two night stay on December 30, 2021 was however disappointing. Upon arrival there was absolutely no loyalty recognition. I had not been allocated an upgrade although this is a Spire benefit upon availability and the hotel was practically empty. When requested, a small upgrade was reluctantly granted, I almost felt like a beggar. I had personally contacted the resident manager, Alessandro, three days prior to my arrival to request some additional pillows for a back problem. After my arrival I asked for these pillows to be transferred to the new ( “ upgraded” ) room. I was shockingly told that housekeeping had never provided these to my original room as they considered the existing pillows “ good enough”! After insisting that I really needed these for back and leg support Jessica agreed to have them sent up within 10 minutes. One hour later nothing, so I called the reception and Jessica told me, unbelievably, that she was the ONLY staff member present in the hotel and that she would have “to lock the front door to personally bring me the pillows” ! My in room safe was also not working, it was not repaired until the afternoon of the 31st. I had to drag a heavy bag with my documents and valuables around Milan for the rest of the day. There was no management, no maintenance, no housekeeping , NO SECURITY…just one young lady in the entire hotel until 19:00 when the bar opened. Not a safe feeling ! The hotel was somber and empty and felt more like a budget youth hostel than a Crowne Plaza. Restaurant closed, sauna closed bar unattended even after opening time. I would like to point out that the staff were not unfriendly but put in this awkward position as no manager was present.. As I take no pleasure in writing negative reviews, and believe in giving people a second chance, I personally called the manager Alessandro to provide my feedback in a constructive spirit. I thought he would appreciate this more than a public review. As he was busy he promised to call me back the same day or latest the next morning. I gave him my personal phone number in addition to the other contact details he has access to in my profile. Regrettably he never bothered to call me back or message me which, unfortunately, confirms the total lack of customer care under this new management. As there are several other airport hotels in the area I would not recommend you to stay at this Crowne Plaza, but if you do decide to, perhaps because of your status with IHG Rewards, make sure that you fight for what you are entitled to upon arrival. I checked-in and after just 29 minutes, I checked out!!!! I appreciate these are difficult times what with COVID but no bar, no restaurant and only 2-3 guests! This place shouldn’t even be open to the public! They even charge fir a small bottle of water! And if you do want to eat, you have to order in from some local restaurant and pay an arm and a leg!!!!! Moving to the Sheraton at the airport terminal as they’re functioning normally .....

Just checked in, and my first impression was to come to a Hostel instead of a reputable 4 star hotel. I am a IHG Spire member, means I do stay at IHG hotels, mainly Crowne Plaza, a considerable number of nights every year, for many years already. Front office attitude wasn’t up to the level of the Brand, no recognition of my status and no upgrade, as they said, no executive rooms available, although the hotel looked empty, and IHG webpage showing availability....maybe tomorrow, they said. I was recently 2 times, at the nearby Holiday Inn Express, where attitude, service, new and well appointed rooms , not to mention, complimentary breakfast, closer to airport and to restaurants , by comparison gives this Crowne Plaza no more than a falling star. I regret not to stay there again, as I prepaid my stay of 2 nights, and cannot change now. Regarding my room, as in many previous reviews, old and tired. No any amenities, you have a bed and an old tv. The floor is upping, even dangerous, can cut your feet. No slippers provided, have to walk barefoot. Comparing to previous reviews mentioning scale, bathrobe, my room nothing at all. And don’t use Covid as an excuse, I was 10 days ago at Indigo Monforte Milan, everything was there. The front office even asked me if really needed my room to be serviced and cleaned. This hotel is a shame to IHG and Crowne Plaza brand.

As I had with Crown Plaza a very positive experience in Singapore I booked a King Executive Room at the Crown Plaza Malpensa. Having arrived by a transfer service for a fee (no free shuttle is available) I met a dead hotel. Everything (except reception) is closed, there were hardly any guests. For lunch and dinner I had to go to a close restaurant located in an other hotel (Cervo). Due to Covid the hotel restaurant as well as the fitness and Spa Area were closed. What I cannot understand is that they took away from the room the tea and coffee facilities as well there was no water bottle (as mentioned in Executive description). I had to ask for a glass in order to take tap water. If you are staying longer than 5 nights, they will not clean your room for 5 nights! Just 4 nights before I was staying at the Sheraton Malpensa. There hardly every service was available, for sure with a safety concept, far more better!

I booked the hotel using the IHG app before it had reopened for business due to Covid-19 restrictions but the hotel still replied promptly to the questions I had regarding my impending stay. I had an extremely warm welcome to the hotel, I was recognised as a IHG Spire Ambassador member and given a full rundown of the hotel's facilities and advised on what was not available during Covid restrictions. I was upgraded to an Executive Room. The executive room on 2nd floor was spacious and nicely decorated. There were the expected facilities in the room including fridge, bathrobe and weighing scales in the bathroom but the notable exception was the tea/coffee facilities again due to Covid restrictions. As the restaurant and bar were closed a breakfast box was provided each morning which was collected at the bar and included a hot drink. The breakfast box was substantial and was an excellent temporary substitution to breakfast normally provided. What made the hotel wonderful was how proactive and hospitable the staff members were, they were apologetic for the unavailable services but made up for it by providing alternatives and making a stay at the hotel an fantastic experience.

I have stayed in this Lovely Property very near Malpensa Airport (5 minutesaway) last Friday/Saturday,(room102) as i arrived earlier than the check in time....the very polite Lady at the Reception Desk (Rosa i think was Her Name) kindly explained that even if i have arrived earlier She would informed me of any rooms becoming available earlier...so i headed to the Bar and consumed a nice Prosecco with snacks while waiting. The Hotel is very very very very clean and i mean spot on clean, and so are the Rooms and Public Areas. Breakfast was nice with a large variety of Delicacies... there even was some baked Farfalle Pasta in a Chaffing Dish to enjoy. There is a Gym which i have used with pleasure. Amenities in the Room are Fantastic and so is the TV with International Channels. I recommend this Hotel (5 Stars) and i will definitely stay there again. Staff at the Reception Desk are very Professional and at the Restaurant too. Grazie Ciao

I stayed here during an overnight transit through MXP airport and it was a convenient hotel for the proximity. A quick shuttle ride from the airport (shuttle not signposted well, if at all) meant I was at the hotel in 5-10 minutes for €4 each way. The staff checked me into a room on the 1st floor (#135) and the room was sufficient for a night to stay. The room was a little tired but it was comfortable and clean, albeit a little small. The air conditioning was not working well at all which meant opening the window to its maximum 6 inches and let some cool air in. As it was winter, it didn't take long for the -5 cold air to come through. The hotel has one restaurant and a bar on the ground floor, but the bar was completely empty, including staff, so I had to find someone to serve me a drink. The hotel is fine for a night before a flight the next day, but I would say it's not up to the usual Crowne Plaza standards. The other IHG hotel en-route, the Holiday Inn Express, appeared to be far bigger and more popular. ************************** The airport shuttle bus from Malpensa Airport (MXP) to the airport hotel (Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Express) was difficult to find so I've included it with my images. When you exit security (Terminal 1), turn right and exit the airport at the far door. The shuttle buses pull up just on the left as you exit the terminal and have a sign in the window for the hotel.

This was an ideal spot for an early flight from Malpensa after a weekend in Milan.Its a short shuttle ride for a small charge, but nothing else locally. A great welcome, with the staff really friendly and helpful.The hotel is clean and tidy, but is in need of updating and modernizing, slightly different from the normal Crown Plaza, but more than adequate.The room was spacious and had everything you need.Only slight issue, aircraft noise may be an issue for some light sleepers, but it was a nice end to a busy weekend.
