We love the Relais. The rooms are large and well equipped. Bed large and comfortable. Shower easily accessible for my disabled wife. Terrace overlooking two tees with privacy and quiet. My wife could easily walk to breakfast room and to car park from ground floor room. Staff were wonderfully helpful in all areas - reception, cleaners, waiting staff and golf shop. Golf course was in great shape. Evidence of improved fairways and non-punitive semi-rough. We shall return for a sixth (?) visit next year.
Spend an evening here for our wedding anniversary. Absolutely loved it, rooms are huge and very comfortable, beautiful bathrooms. enjoyed a wonderful evening at the bistro. Wonderful food excellent service
We lived about an hour and a half’s drive from the resort and decided to stay overnight and to take advantage of the fine dining opportunity. The room was great but the sliding door into the bathroom only half worked. The golf course was a good experience and buggy hire was easy to arrange. The fine dining was interesting.
Booked to stay in the chateau but bathroom shower facilities for a tall person were inadequate so we were moved to the secondary site which was very good but lacked the atmosphere of the chateau!Golf facilities were very good but limited merchandise in the golf shop.
We stayed for a three night golf package which included breakfast as well as unlimited golf - though with the scorching temperatures playing more that 18 a day would have been a struggle! The room was very spacious - many hotels would have marketed it as a junior suite with it's own balcony, the bed kingsize and comfortable actually can't fault the room in any way. Breakfast was the usual selection you expect the find in a good quality French hotel, and it was good in both quantity and quality again nothing to fault there either. We only used the Brasserie resturant - to be honest the menu was rather limited and pricing a bit of a push - to be honest it's probably worth the drive into St Foy de la grande which has a greater choice - just don't do it on a Wednesday before 7:30pm!! As for the golf Des Vigiers features three loops of nine, the Vines, Valley and Lake while I prefered the Vines, Valley combination my wife preferred the Valley Lake combo - horses for courses I guess - what is consistant is the condition which is generally good , the greens excellent, some of the Lake tees could use some work but overall you can't complain - little traffic - though that might be different in August.…
