We stayed for two nights in the Main House. The location is just stunning. The comfortable and well equipped house is located on the cliff edge and offers terrific views over the ocean and beach. You can even watch dolphins from the patio! The area offers beautiful walks - including the best tour guide, Joe the cocker spaniel. Ed and...

This is great for an escape from the world. The Sunbird cottage doesn't have a sea view - it has an extremely pleasant mountain and pasture view. The kitchen in Sunbird is set up with basic facilities - its clean but not luxurious. The rooms are plain and clean - could do with some carpets and softness perhaps. Take all...

We visited Bishops Cove as part of our honeymoon road trip. Other than the "private beach", beautiful vistas and great walks- you also get your own special dog "Joe" for the duration of the stay :) We absolutely loved every minute of our stay. Thanks to hosts Ed & Sally!

Thank you for your kind words of appreciation. Joe, the special guide dog, has been busy with the guests after you left and is due for a good break. The rain has finally arrived for which we are very grateful as are our surrounding farmers. We hope you had a fine conclusion of your honeymoon and are enjoying married life....

My wife and I went to bishop's cove for our honeymoon and it was just what we wanted and needed. It's totally secluded, yet you have most of the luxuries that a reasonable person could ask for. It has fantastic views, which in my opinion could rival some of the best world wide. Ed and Sally, the care takers of...

Once we found the house (take your map with you!) we had a warm welcome by the owners. The house is really huge and has everything you need. The terrace has such a nice view over the ocean, we even saw whales from our terrace. This place was very laid back, the most quiet location you could ever imagine (feels...

Thank you so much for all of your comments. We do try to keep this place special, private and unspoilt for all. You will be pleased to know that new linen has been purchased and that the resident greater striped swallows, who spotted the walls, have moved out for the winter, but will be back for their summer vacation!! Thank you for fine review and your 5 families really made use of the facilities we offer. The stroll from the beach is hectic if taken too quickly but the whale watching or dolphin spotting halts can be useduntil the body is ready to move upwards again! We are sorry that the sea was not filled with phosphorescence to compete...

Bishop's Cove is ideally suited to those who want an extra special and unusual experience of a very beautiful part of South Africa. The location is perfect for couples or groups of couples and friends who like an active and moderately demanding holiday. For example, the many beautiful trails are probably too difficult for young children. Your hosts Ed and...

They are able to truly relax here, or they can enjoy an action packed outdoor adventure. There are a range of hiking trails to choose from, with the more leisurely trails enabling you to enjoy the magnificent ocean and mountain views. Other trails will take you into the forest or along the rugged and pristine coast where there is a good chance of seeing resident Cape clawless otter, various antelope, whales in the winter months, dolphins, rare Oyster Catcher birds, and more.
