Highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a low cost, nice hotel with a great location. The rooms are very clean and well put together minus the flooring in my shower but other than that no complaints and the shower wasn't even an issue. The owner is English so it's easy to converse with him plus he's...

We stayed at the Cocooning Hotel for 2 nights. The location is awesome, in the middle of Fisherman's Village at Bophut beach and 30 seconds from the water. You can tell that the rooms have been decorated with an eye for detail. They are clean and the staff is very friendly. Should Dave be around, he can help getting around...

I've just spent five comfortable nights at The Cocooning which is at what used to be the 'quiet' end of Bo Phut village. Now the cool bars, restaurants and small hotels have crept along this end of the road. The Cocooning is ideal for the budget traveller who wants to spend a few days in and around the village but...

The staff at this hotel is amazing. The owner is very accommodating and went out of his way to ensure our stay was pleasant. Highly recommend for honest, considerate, customer-first hotel. Located a 1 minute walk to fisherman's village, this is a convenient place to stay in Samui

Dave, the cool owner gave a lot of time and calls to recover my airline lost baggage. Friday night Street market is a fun time with lots of action. This area retains the relaxed, cool , old Ko Samui feeling. Definitely a place to stay . We stayed there twice and hope to be back.

Big thanks to Dave & Terese (owners) who were the perfect hosts ! Rooms are clean, well maintained with air con and cable TV + Safe to stash your valuables in. Location is ideal if you want to go off visiting other parts of Samui or the nearby islands. Recommended place to stay. Hopefully I'll be back next year !!...

We were only here for one night but it was great. Both of the owners were very responsive to emails (even to my inane questions about the weather) and made a point to introduce themselves to us while we were there. Very nice people. The room itself was clean, comfy and steps away from a ton of restaurant and bars...

Stayed for 5hrs & used as a day room en-route to the airport from Koh Toa. Dave the host was brilliant, he arranged taxi's too & from the hotel & advised us of all the best spots for our whistle stop visit. Our room was clean & was adequate for a short stay. The hotel is brilliantly situated near the...

Me and my partner stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The hotel was great, the room was always clean & tidy. The bed was one of the comfiest we've slept in in Thailand. We were unfortunate that Koh Samui was hit by a big storm while we were there and was flooded, which meant we didn't really get much...

Great staff - cannot fault them! Knew everything and were more than happy to help. Rooms looked lovely online and in theory are. However, ours wasn't clean (bugs everywhere, stained curtains, pillow cases didn't look too clean and there was what I can only describe as looked like dried period blood on the toilet seat!). Bar is also very run...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Just minutes walk from the beach and perfectly located at the quiet end of the villages many shops and restaurants, Cocooning is a tranquil paradise and a great place to enjoy Samui from. Great value for money, the hotel is very competitively priced for the area and perfect for couples, families and singles of all ages. You will be guaranteed a warm welcome from Dave and Therese, the hotel's owners, who are by far the hotel's biggest asset. The dynamic duo from England and Sweden have lived in Thailand for over 10 years, offering a wealth of experience and local knowledge. They started their journey on Koh Tao where they met and worked in the diving industry, until they set up their first business together running a very successful beachside bar and restaurant. They were later married and looking for a new adventure with the imminent arrival of their first child, set their sights on Cocooning in 2012. They instantly added something special to the hotel and their little personal touches can be seen throughout. Service is most definitely with a smile and guests are made to feel instantly at home. ... more   less
