Good staff, simple and comfortable, affordable on the perfect spot. Rooms and camping sites. Bar over the Zambezi river. beautiful birds, with luck, crocs and hippos. Close to Katima Mulilo and from the borders to Zambia and Botswana. Relax and Enjoy.

A nice place in the middle of nature and directly at the river. Did a real good boats tour from there. Good breakfast and very good dinner - we got specially prepared meals for vegetarians! Helpful and friendly hosts. Was it a chalet or a tent? It doesn't matter, it was an interesting feeling to be so close to the...

This place is like a dream. The setting, the staff, the rooms transport you to a different world. Going to bed to the sound of hippos in the river, and waking up to so many different bird sounds! Breakfast is delicious, and dinner can be had there as well, although the location is great because the town of Katima Mulilo...

Advertised as a 'chalet' but actually a tent which we found ripped and the side walls constructed of reeds which were broken and ant eaten and the curtain bamboo blinds broken. The person who met us on arrival was un-knowledgeable and disinterested.. The front of the tent was piled high with old thatching grass limiting the view of the river....

Hi Robyn We were sad upon reading your review. We still regard our units as chalets, as they are built on a wooden frame and only have a canvas roof, as that is a lot cleaner than a thatched roof. The bamboo blinds were left after closing the opening on the sides with shade-netting to reduce the chance of mosquitoes...

Kurt and staff went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay. We camped two nights and did the house boat safari for a night on the Zambezi. Allen, our boat skipper and guide was very knowledgeable about the birds, hippos, and crocs. Since we didn't go further near Chips there were no sightings of larger game. Recommend...

We came across Caprivi Houseboat by chance and decided to spend the night as we liked its ambience. The grounds are well manicured with some quirky design features added. There are about 5-6 chalets very well spaced. We stayed in the camping which was also nice and shady and private. A beautiful terrace overlooking the Zambesi river is where you...

At the end of a two-week birding safari we would have liked a little better. Open air room was too breezy, facing the river (yes, the view was great); open air bathroom was private but hard to manage towels, TP, etc. in the wind. Mosquito nets a must at night. Meals OK and service friendly, finally had something other than...

Hi Bill Thank you for your review and visit. You came for a visit at that time of year when the winds start blowing to build up towards the rain season. We can't do much much about that unfortunately. Also that was the the time when our service provider for telecomms had problems that took a long while to remedy....

Ideally situated right next to the Zambezi - so the view is absolutely breathtaking! Very friendly staff and great service. And the boat trip on the river was awesome! Saw some amazing wildlife. Would recommend staying at this establishment!

We've stayed at Caprivi Houseboat Safari Lodge before and knew a return visit would be good. They have an almost unbeatable location right on the Zambesi and the friendly and quality service made the night we spent highly enjoyable. We will definitely be back!

Well worth a visit! Lovely decking overlooking the Zambezi with a honesty bar making it super easy to relax as you watch for hippo. Lots of birds in grounds and squirrels running around. The dogs and cats are a delight and behave very well. You can organise a boat trip from here or just spend your time relaxing. But the...
