Killiane Castle is one of my favorite places we stayed during our 7 day trip through Ireland. We stayed for 1 night in Oct 2023 in the country house portion of the estate.
It was incredibly charming, like something from a fairytale. Our room was very large, as was the bathroom, which even had a tub so we could soak our feet after a long day. Everything was so thoughtful and intentional, we could tell that the hosts take great care of the house and the rooms. There was a tea room downstairs with cake and biscuits available to guests, as well as tea and coffee in our room. In the morning, it was raining softly and we opened the windows and listened to the crows cawing in the big trees outside. We opted to not have breakfast because we had an early morning drive, but I wish we had because it smelled so amazing.
We did go and explore the castle itself, which was very cool, and the view from the top was amazing. The country house itself is not part of the "castle" proper, which is a ruined structure not suitable for habitation, but many of the walls and such from the old fortifications are used as bases for the modern constructions on the estate. It was a very cool mix of old and new right on top of each other.
I would definitely stay at Killiane Castle again, and I would add the breakfast to our stay next time!

Our third stay and Killane was as welcoming and as comfortable as ever. The location is peaceful and ideal for a quite break. The hosts are welcoming and very helpful. The house (with a Norman tower house attached) gives an impression of being remote but is in easy reach of Wexford and Rosslare. The bedroom was very comfortable; well equipped and well adapted from what is essentially a farmhouse in the main part. Breakfast is generous and varied with much of what is available taken direct from the farm. The potato cake with smoked salmon is very tasty. We did not have dinner this stay because of scheduling constraints but if it is available, worth considering. The tea and cake and the honour bar in the drawing room make it easy to unwind. All round a pleasant and restful interlude.

This place is an absolute gem! We arrived on our first night in Ireland after a flight from the U.S. and a few hour drive. We were exhausted, and the greeting we received from Patrycja and Paul was wonderful. The house is warm and inviting, and we were offered home baked pastries and coffee / tea while we settled in. Exploring the grounds is a serene experience. We had a beautiful view of the fields from our room and the sounds of nature were very calming. Maybe it was the jet lag, but we both slept so soundly that first night and the room and bed were extremely comfortable (best bed we slept in during our entire trip). The bathroom was beautifully updated, and the breakfast Paul served us the next morning was so fresh and delicious! We were even able to chat for a few minutes with Paul's father and learn about the history of the property. I just can't say enough good things about this place. If you are looking for a beautiful place tucked away in the country away from it all, this is it! A must stay when in Wexford!

A special place to stay in every sense, this country house close to Wexford and Rosslare adjoins a partially ruined castle and working farm. It made an ideal first night stop before a week touring Ireland after arriving by ferry into Rosslare, but left us wishing we had booked for longer. Our room (8) was very comfortable and had lovely views over the farmland from the top corner of the house. We were given a very warm welcome by the owner Patrycja, who continued to make us feel very at home throughout our stay. It was particularly enjoyable to spend an evening with a couple of drinks in the cosy lounge chatting with fellow guests. Breakfast ranked among the best we have ever had, with an amazing buffet of home-produced granola, fruit and yoghurts and a separate menu of cooked options - loved Patrycja's potato cake! A final treat was the farm walk, a wander of about a mile around the border of the farm, ending under the shadow of the old castle walls. I hope we can return at some point in the future.

There’s a pleasant castle ruin adjoining a country house but that’s where the enjoyment ends. The rooms are overpriced for what is a standard b&b and the service is below par.
If at least the owners were good hosts it would help the lack of location and substandard facilities, but unfortunately their dismissive and unwelcome attitude made it wholly unenjoyable.
Definitely don’t recommend, do yourself a favour and choose somewhere in Wexford town.

I am very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. I would disagree with you of course but we are all entitled to our opinions. We are in fact a 5*bed & breakfast and don't "masquerade" as being a castle, a little research from your side would have revealed that. It is a 17th century house built next to a 15th century Norman Castle. We never pretended to be anything else. Your review is very general with absolutely no specifics which makes me wonder if you actually stayed here at all. And as for your comment on "location", you picked to stay with us - it has been here for over 500 years so you should again blame yourself if you did not research your stay. The "below service" comment again with no specifics?? Of all the bad reviews I have read about places there are always specific examples, you have none so did you really have bad service? What are "substantial facilities"? Were you expecting a Spa, Leisure Centre or maybe a helicopter landing pad? Research, research, research. Regards, Paul & Patrycja

We spent 1 night at Killiane Castle and it was amazing! We were greeted by the smell of freshly baked apple cake and fresh coffee which was welcome after a long drive. Our room was wonderfully appointed with beautiful linens and comfortable beds. We explored the grounds including the attached castle and then took a 2 minute drive to a local pub for a delicious dinner. The owners were very gracious to offer us an early breakfast since we had to be on the road very early. The breakfast was excellent and offered a variety of options. The owners were warm, welcoming and provide a first class experience for their guests.

We normally stay in bigger hotels, but this stay was purchased for us so we hadn't chosen it. To say we were delighted with everything about this house is an understatement! The hosts Paul and Patricia were so friendly and chatty (in a good way). Lovely hardworking family. The house itself was spotlessly clean, characterful and beautifully decorated. So many nice touches like tea, coffee and freshly baked cake available all day in the tea room and bottled water from their spring in the bedroom to the honesty bar for residents. The scenery from the grounds is beautiful. Our hosts ordered us a taxi to Sinnotts on the Strand for our dinner with a lovely lady called Geraldine, who was so chatty and friendly and came back to collect us afterwards. We slept well in the really comfortably beds with topsheets under the duvets, luxurious touch. Breakfast was amazing, such an array of homemade items. We would absolutely recommend treating yourself to a stay here, we felt peace and calm and really looked after . We have booked again and can't wait to go back.

It is an old castle on a working farm. One drives along a small street to the old castle. Granted the house itself is from the outside not in great shape, but it is rather well renovated from the inside. The owner and his wife are great hosts, with good hints about restaurants and local attractions. The house has a rather nice living room for the guests with a good selection of wines, spirits, and books. In the background, one is listening to relaxing music which fits perfectly well to this hotel. The rooms are comfortable and so is the bed. The best however is the breakfast. You have a buffet with lots of fresh fruits, organic yogurt, and muesli. But the best stuff is on the menu and is prepared only upon request. If you like the food Paul will not hesitate to give you the recipe. All in all, it is a rather special and recommended place. It is of cause not cheap but that should not be expected for this special place.

This place is just wonderful, lovely and quiet, everything here is top class, the bed was very comfortable and the room was a very high standard. The breakfast is probably the best you will get anywhere, wide choice of quality food, something for everyone's taste, all overlooking the wonderful grounds of the farm. If you like a quiet, high class location, this one is definitely for you.

Hello. Their farm is mostly dairy cows but as we walked the grounds, we saw chicken's and two of the sweetest rescue donkeys. I think they have pigs and goats as well. They also have non farm animals--- A couple of dogs and cats that just hang out in the yard. We loved just roaming. Hope this helps.
