Spotlessly clean, incredibly welcoming and trusting. A really comfortable apartment with everything we needed. What more could we ask. We are very much hoping that it will be necessary to return! Paul was very communicative and answered emails immediately. The accommodation was exactly as described and within shout of beautiful beaches and towns. How lucky were we?
A family owned property for 3 generations which is in fact a house built inside the walls of a castle on the original great hall foundations. The owners, Paul and Patricia, were super friendly and accommodating and enough cannot be said about the quality of this property. From the comfortable sitting room with an honour bar, to the sitting area (snug) with 24 hours coffee/tea and cookie service to the sumptuous rooms and finally a breakfast menu that is second to none. If you are a golf addict there is an adjoining driving range and golf course also owned by members of the family. If you plan on staying during opera season you better book early.
My husband and I just stayed here for 2 nights. What wonderful service we received! We were lucky that we arrived during opera season— so we were offered dinner at the hotel. Wow — what a treat! If I lived in Ireland, I would come here every year in October (many people do!). After dinner we lounged in the beautiful sitting room which had a lovely small fire. The meals and service here are 5 star — breakfast and dinner. Our bed was very comfortable, as was our whole experience at Killiane Castle.
A truly hidden treasure in the south east of Ireland. A lovely family-owned farm and country house, attached to a Norman castle which must have been here in the time of Strongbow and Aoife. We were welcomed by Paul and Patritcia, (assisted by Scarlet and Ruby) and they gave us the feeling of staying in a family home, which, in truth, we were. You would not regret staying here.
We stayed for one night in this delightful place. The room was spotless and had a beautiful view. There's a lovely warm atmosphere that greets you as soon as you arrive. From the cosy snug where you can enjoy cake and tea to the lounge with open fire and comfy seats. Breakfast was amazing. Attention to detail comes across very strongly at this property. Great value for money. Great service and a lovely atmosphere. We have booked to go back already. I highly recommend a stay here.
A comfortable bed in a good location for the ferry. We were welcomed nicely and paid in advance as we left at 07.15 without breakfast. We were in room 5 at the top of the hotel. The linen was special, the towels were soft, as was the water. Overall recommended.
Walking the grounds of an old castle with the bnb/hotel situated within was a magical experience. Our host was very friendly and extremely helpful. There is a great little farm walk as well if the weather is nice. The only downside I’d say were the walls were a little thin, so be courteous of others when knocking about in your room. I would definitely stay here again and suggest it to others visiting the area.
Loved this place when we arrived from Rosslare on the ferry. It was just a short hop from the terminal and within easy reach of Wexford for dinner. Both rooms were delightful and cool on a very hot day, bathrooms spacious, beds comfortable. Delicious breakfast the following morning. Lovely grounds, wish we could have stayed longer. Very helpful and obliging management. Everything was good.
A boutique B&B in a castle. The apartments are built in the courtyard of a Norman castle and are bright, modern and very well furnished and equipped. It's a family run business and it's obvious they work hard on getting even the small things right. The breakfast is amazing and full of options made in-house from the brad and scones to the yogurt and honey. Beautiful grounds to walk around and the hosts are very helpful. Highly recommended!
Our room was really lovely - very clean & comfortable. The breakfast was amazing! There was a wonderful variety of stewed fruits, fresh fruits and cooked breakfast options. Would very highly recommend!
