What an amazing holiday! My fiance and i can't thank the staff at Lakaz enough for such an amazing and unforgettable stay! On arrival we were amazed at the well kept gardens and standard of the property driving down the track to reception. After a rather unforgiving plane journey this was exactly what we needed, a quick introduction to the... More

The hotel is undeniably beautiful - lush, tropical surroundings and a scattering of rooms tucked around the gardens. Privacy is almost guaranteed, but it's worth noting that some of the rooms are quite a hike from the main building; club cars are available to carry you if necessary. The food leans towards the Mauritian style and is generally excellent although... More

A bit late in writing this review... I was a bit dubious in chosing this hotel as there had been comments about unhelpful staff before I booked last year. I found no evidence of this, all the staff were extremely helpful and courteous. The accomodation was exactly as I expected, fairly basic but comfortable and very peaceful. The meals were... More

I spent a week at the Lakaz Chamarel and have to say that it was one of the best vacations ever. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. I immediately felt at home. Thank you Dominique, Juan and all the others. The food, especially the 3-course dinner, is superb. High quality and excellent taste. The location of the luxury cabins... More

I am saddened to learn that this hotel is being opened to the masses. I liked it when it was a lesser known gem - now I hear bigger tour operators are aware of this hotel.... Go now! Visit before it's old news, or worse - expanded. This family built and locally run hotel offers a different side to Mauritius.... More

Somewhat difficult to find, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow really exists! Once you find the signs, navigate past the "Private Property" sign, and negotiate the steep driveway and the forbidding gate, you arrive at nirvana. Something akin to adult summer camp but with luxurious touches and supreme pampering, you should not miss staying at this... More

I spent a fair bit of time second guessing the decision to forgo a beach resort in favor of Lakaz. In hindsight I have no regrets at all. The hotel offers a shuttle to fabulous Le Morne beach, so we didn't feel like we were missing out on anything. We prefer the intimate boutique hotel setting to a resort with... More

We stayed for two nights at Lakaz in between a stay on the north east coast and our final stay in the south. Lakaz Chamorel was a very pleasant surprise, perched high on a hill in a very tropical and green part of the island. It's situation means that it can offer a really peaceful and relaxing stay although there... More

We began our holiday in Mauritius with a four night stay at this small piece of heaven. My husband is a keen walker and observer of nature and I love flowers and plants, so Lakaz Chamarel was perfect for both of us. After two long flights it was sheer bliss to arrive in this small valley with its wonderful selection... More

Having spent 7 nights at a beachfront resort, with all the splendour that could offer, and finishing off our first trip to Mauritius with 4 nights at Lakaz, we feel utterly fulfilled. From the warm welcome and continual respect of the extremely friendly staff, gastronomic delights and the peace and tranquility of the surroundings, we could not have expected any... More
