We stayed in this hotel last year over weekend. Can say only good things about it. Very welcome, accommodating, good breakfast. Very domestic atmosphere. Everything was just perfect!. Would like to come and stay again.

We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by the receptionist. He was very very helpful and booked us dinner at a nearby restaurant. The hotel is dated but clean and tidy. Lovely views from the balcony and a nice garden to chill in after a long days walking. Very pleased overall and for a great price!

The host couldn't be more helpful and the breakfasts are good enough but before you get carried away by the positive reviews bear in mind that the Genzianella is a couple of kms outside Champoluc, & the last shuttle leaves town at 19:41 so you need to eat early or have your own car. It's in need of a refurb....

Domestic atmosphere, delicious home-made breakfasts, very friendly owners, not far to the cable car station. High mountains, exceptional views, the highest part of the Alps (4thousanders). Paradise for skiing, especially freeride. Gorgeous cuisine, a mix of the french, swiss and italian taste. The surrounding of the hotel are few houses and dominating view of the royal-looking highest Alps. Very, very...

Hosts Giampaolo and Sara are fantastic, friendly an always helpful with lots of valuable hints for our one-week stay. We got a the biggest room with a lot of windows and light. Very good breakfast with home made sweets. Free bus service in front of hotel plus free parking completed the wonderful holiday. Hotel with long and interesting family tradition,...

The hotel needs renovation but it's very clean and the hosts are very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was very good and with enough variation. We stayed only one night (5 people) before leaving for a 4 day mountain hiking trip. It was no problem to leave our car on the parking of the hotel. (free of charge) There is no...

Very friendly hosts that were extremely welcoming and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to other travellers for a comfortable, good value for money stay. Breakfast was good. Rooms were very clean although in need of a little modernisation. Very good shower which is essential after a day on the slopes. Only real criticism is that the rooms don't have...

It pays off to have a refundable booking, and this was one of those occasions. The hotel is in desperate need of renovation. The owners might be friendly and all but the rooms are terrible even by Italian B&B standards. I would definitely suggest a similar priced hotel closer to Champoluc centre instead of Genzianella in Fraz. Saint Jacques.

My teenage son and I stayed here for our annual ski holiday. As the other reviews attest, you don't get warmer and more caring hosts than Gianpaolo and Sara. Sara's family has been in the hotel business in the village since the 1800s and the care and attention to personal service reflect that. Lovely continental breakfasts and a cosy bar...

Breakfast was nice, the rooms were ok, but most of all Gianpaolo and Sara are the greatest hosts I have ever had at a hotel/stayover. Just all-over nice people who really wanted to make sure that the stay went well and was pleasant. A will be sure to return to Genzianella if I am ever in that part of Italy...

“Very little trafic on the street, but there's a mountain river passing in front of the hotel, so yes, you can hear the water on the front side, but that should be part of the charm of staying in the mountains.”
