I am going to start with the positives for this hotel!... bedroom was laid out lovely, huge sley leather bed which was comfy and a large built in wardrobe! The ensuite shower room wasn't great and in desperate need of an upgrade to suit the bedroom!! The shower has no power to it and the plug was not draining correctly...

We popped in here just for a drink and too be nosey! The place has had a good refurbishment . Clean and bright throughout. Friendly bar staff and good service. The beer is well kept. There is table football here and we could not resist. £5 deposit for the ball. We will return .

Our 3rd visit staying for a weekend at The Ship and won't be the last. Good food, comfortable rooms and very friendly staff. Lots to choose from on their menus both breakfast and evening meal and their steaks seem to be extremely popular. Ceilings can be a little low in places upstairs and we found it awkward in our bathroom...

What a lovely evening. After seeing some negative comments online, we weren't expecting too much but the food was delicious and the staff were extremely polite and very friendly. We have eaten here before but this evening excelled all previous visits.

Passed this pub loads of times, always thought it was a bit scruffy. How wrong was I. Good food selection, 20% discount for oap's, excellent service, clean modern decor with attentive staff, barmaid very friendly with good communication. We will be returning soon.

First visit to The Ship. Went on recommendation from friends. The food was OK which, for £9.95 a head, isn't bad. We took the two course option at £13pp which saves you a couple of quid off the normal price of a starter or desert. However, the deserts are pretty poor. The fruit crumble was inedible. This was mentioned to...

I don't usually publish poor reports. preferring instead, to leave comments unsaid. However, I feel compelled to mention a recent visit for a meal. On the online website menu, is mentioned "beer battered Pollack", but I feel sure that when I visited, the restaurant menu stated that the fish was, in fact, cod. Still, never mind which fish it actually...
