Booked Le Moulin Calme as a one off whist travelling through France. Had a quick look on-line for somewhere close to where we wanted to be and this place came up. Once you arrive in Luceau, it is not clearly sign posted but we managed to find it ok. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and will return. This B&B may...

Poor and very run-down establishment. Overpriced mediocre food and wine. Not easy to find either and certainly not worth a detour. It seems that while this place was excellent a few years ago the new owners are not suited to run a place like this

We have stayed here twice or three times a year on the way to or from our house in the Berry. The previous owners set a high standard and the current family have rapidly risen up the scale. The improvements that are under way at present will make what was a superb, but rather tired, setting even better!

My Dad and I stayed here in Sept 2010 (I know, it's a while ago, but it's only taken me five years to get round to writing this!!), and stayed one night. It was lovely. The food was excellent, cooked by the owner's wife, and the room was clean and quaint. I will certainly stay here again. Certainly.

The setting of the hotel is lovely, buried in the countryside beside a large pond. The grounds looked as if they needed a fair amount of maintenance. Our room was good with a sitting area which was just as well as the hotel did not appear to have a residents lounge. The evening meal well cooked but rather limited for...

We booked this hotel as it had good reviews on Trip Adviser and Alastair Sawdays. However it seems that the original owners who achieved all the good reviews have sold, and the current owners took over in July. Whilst they may have plans to spend some cash, it looked as though nothing had been done since the last owners left....

I have stayed at many Alastair Sawday properties in France and always found them to be extremely good. I was really disappointed when we arrived at Le Moulin Calme. It is really well situated for the motorway and is a beautiful setting but it is all quite tired and there is a feeling that they are quite simply dining out...

We stoped-over at Le Moulin Calme on our way back from the Dordogne. We stayed for one night but wished we had booked a longer stay. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and have character. The evening meal was one of the best I have ever eaten, enough said. Joelle is an outstanding cook. My husband love the fishing.

In a delightful, beautiful and very peaceful setting this little chambre d'hote is a great find with comfortable rooms and truly excellent food. The proprietors are genuinely kind and helpful folks and we will most certainly return

This is an ideal place to stop when driving from Le Havre. We spent an interesting day in old Le Mans, and then visited the 24-hour race circuit. From there it was easy to find the place as it is well-signed from the main road. We had an excellent dinner - everything freshly prepared and beautifully cooked. There were even...
