What can I say about Fuji Ginkei??? This place is a great find. I recommend that you do the $400 package that includes breakfast and dinner. They serve you a various small courses each meal and the quality of the meals are really good. I think meals like this at a restaurant will go for $75 bucks person for dinner....

Along the north end of Lake Kawaguchi, there are several ryokans with onsens that offer unparalleled views of Mount Fuji. Fuji Ginkei happened to be available when I decided to stay a night near Mount Fuji and I wasn't disappointed. The view of Mount Fuji alone was worth staying at this ryokan. The onsen on the roof is a stunning bonus....

I did quite a bit of research on Lake Kawaguchi accommodation and settled on Fuji Ginkei as all rooms are supposed to have a view of Fujisan. Pricing was a little high compared to the other ryokans I've stayed in but when I arrived i could understand why. You are right smack in front of Mount Fuji so you literally...

Call hotel for transfer from JR station after 2.30PM or get unlimited bus tickets (most likely you'll need them anyway,Y1100 pp 2 days I believe , bus comes every 15 minutes or less). They'll keep your luggage if you arrive early so you may take that bus and go sightseeing. Hotel also provided a free van early morning to the train...

Check in was professional and detailed. The receptionist clearly explained the meal plans, location of various amenities, how to use the hot baths, shuttle service etc. Then, he brought us to the rooms, and introduced the various features. There is a detailed booklet on hot bath etiquette. I liked the western-style room. It was large. Very traditional setting. Lighting was...

Pleasant stay, the staff is extremely friendly and warm welcoming us. I guess we are the last check in group as the welcome staff recognize us at once. Would definitely stay here again next time if we visit Azagawa. Look out from the window can see the Fuji Mt. so you don't have go walk out to the late to...

We stayed 2 nights in the Japanese style bedroom. The hotel seems to be a little old, but the room is quite spacious and the view is OH MY GOD! Lake kawaguchiko and Mt Fuji are right outside of our window. The hotel has a rooftop public onsen with the lake and mountain view, which undoubtedly amazing! The breakfast was...
