We came to Umbria for a wedding which meant a group of us sharing the "big house". The long kitchen table was perfect for lingering dinners using fabulous local ingredients and lubricated with very good local wine. In fact the nearby winery (ask Penny for details) is a must visit. Prato di Sotto is cleverly designed to allow everyone their... More

We spent a week in May at Prato Di Sotto and whilst a little to cool to take advantage of the beautiful pool the rest of the facilities suited us perfectly. We stayed in Il Molino a one bedroom apartment which had spectacular views and a lovely outside living area to just kick back and relax. Penny was wonderful and... More

This was our fifth visit to Pratto Di Sotto and it 's beauty and tranquillity still surprises us. We stayed in La Cappanna ,the cottage ,with stunning views and beautiful terrace. Penny makes you so welcome, the gardens surrounding the property are full of roses and many interesting plants. A wonderful centre from which to explore Umbria.

This was our first visit with friends who were returning for their 11th visit, so we knew we were not going to be disappointed. Firstly the accommodation was beautiful, we stayed in Il Molina. The views from the windows were stunning, the veranda perfectly positioned. The surrounding immediate countryside is breath taking, so relaxing and full of wildlife. The owner... More

This was a return visit after 3 years and 11 of us and a baby comfortably shared La Terrazza and Casa Antica. The rain fell, the sun came out, the valley filled with mist and the borgo emerged. The spring flowers bloomed on the Umbrian Hills. What more could you wish for? This is truly a special place, presided over... More

We have been staying with at Prato di Sotto for over 20 years. It is peaceful and restful, the views are stunning and the surrounding countryside is breathtakingly beautiful. We returned home last week much relaxed, following another stay, our return visit speaks for itself!

We spent a week at the end of May in La Capanna at Prato di Sotto. What a gorgeous little place. The cottage is set apart from the other houses and we enjoyed the privacy this gave. The upside down arrangement of the cottage, with the sitting room upstairs, is great - the views are to die for. Penny, the... More

I am lucky enough to have visited Prato di Sotto several times since I first came in the late 90's and I can honestly say that it only gets lovelier. This was my first winter trip and I hope it won't be my last. The stunning valley it sits in was even more peaceful (and particularly gorgeous in the unseasonal... More

I had been to Tuscany before but never Umbria and I'm a convert. Far less developed and yet full of places to eat good food ie Monterone just north of Umbertide and places to visit- Gubbio and SanSepulcro to name but 2 of the many . Penny Radford the owner has invested a lot of time and energy into making... More
