From the moment I arrived at Lowlands I knew that I want to come back again. It really is an oasis in the dry Karoo. Beautiful garden, huge bedrooms, fantastic hospitality and food to match. Sunset drinks on the dam, late afternoon visit to the diary, a morning walk down to the weir on the Fish River, friendly smiles and...

We had lofty expectations and these expectations were exceeded by our experience at Lowlands. The setting near the bank of the river was superb. The kids loved running around and trying to feed the lambs. You can swim in the farm dam or the pool. The lounge area is perfect for reading and contemplation. If you don't have your own...

We looked forward to our stay over en route to Plett. Dave and Anne are just the best hosts. The food is exceptional!!! Dave even repaired our puncture by the time we woke up in the morning. Such a special place!!!! Thank you!

We stayed in the Dower cottage which was self catering. It was lovely and peaceful. The cottage has a huge garden shared with the manor house. We were free to roam the farm and take leisurely walks to see the cattle and sheep. Anne and Dave spoiled us with a lovely Karoo dinner (which can be requested). It was homemade,...

What a wonderful place to unwind. We could not get into Mountain Zebra so chose Lowlands and decided to use it as a base. However, we loved it so much we didn't budge. Our room was very comfortable and the House is just ideal, Best of all however was the yummy food and the hospitality we received from Ann and...

The food, the setting, the hosts, the rooms and bedding ... All was just perfect. The food was delicious with Anne and Dave complimenting the meal with their hosting. We went for a short walk around the farm yard with Dave in the morning which was very informative and the kids love the sheep and other farm animals.

What a lovely find! The rooms are very comfortable, Dave and Ann are wonderfully warm and engaging and the food was outstanding. I would recommend Lowlands as a place to explore the Karoo from or as a stop-over on your way to the coast. It's close to lots of places of interest such as Mountain Zebra Park and they have...

We arrived on the 28/12/2014 to stay at Lowlands - we had managed to get a last minute booking for 5 days. Driving off the road, you could feel yourself relaxing more and more. We were greeted warmly by Dave and shown to our cottage- Dower Cottage. It was fantastic to find that there is no cell phone signal at...

This is great stop over point for you trip to the Garden Route.David & Ann where extremely hospitable and the food was excellent. As this is a working farm you get to experience what living on a farm is like. I would recommend this as an over night or short stay destination.

It is really beautiful out on the farm. The accommodation is really comfy and spacious. Great for families. Peaceful and quiet! Mountainous views with farm animals grazing in the fields around. The food is fantastic. A real taste of the karoo life. The owners of the farm are wonderful people and hospitable. The rates are great. It is really worth...
