Hibiscus has charm, character and a beauty about it. As one of the other reviewers mentioned if you are looking for a sanitized experience of The Gambia go to one of the hotels on the strip. Hibiscus is in the middle of an African community and outside the hotel doors is a real and warm African community. Just round the...

This was our third visit to The Gambia, the first being our honeymoon, and the second a return visit to a country that we had really started to fall in love with. Previously we had stayed at the Whitehorse Residence and had been more than happy with both our stays there. However, due to recent troubles in The Gambia which...

We stayed at Hibiscus House for one week whilst on holiday in The Gambia. We booked this hotel based on reviews on TripAdvisor, and overall we were pleased with our choice. The hotel is located in the village of Brufut, away from the main tourist hotspot of Senegambia, although this can be reached by a long walk along the beach...

The staff at Habiscus House are truly some of the nicest people I have ever met. Always happy and smiling and willing to go the extra mile to make you comfortable and ensure you enjoy your stay. I do not wish to name any one person as everyone was so lovely, plus I would probably spell them wrong! I stayed...

Stayed at this delightful hotel in December with family. The staff are great and very friendly! The food/drinks are delicious. The African night on our final night was a personal highlight! The hotels location is slightly away from the main tourist area. However, this is a positive aspect with the peaceful surroundings and taste of local life. Would definitely go...

This boutique hotel is a real gem hidden away in an otherwise dry and dusty neighbourhood in Brufut.
