This is a fabulous location with lots to do in the winter, right on the ski piste (skating cross country). Room is very comfortable. The sauna is fabulous. Hotel staff are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable . There are skis and snow shoes for hire. The restaurant is excellent... but there is a but. The hotel is pricey and at this price, you wouldn't expect that when you've used the complementary tea bag in your room on the first night and ask for a second one on day 2, you are told you will be billed, that when you ask to rent just the ski boots, you are told this is not possible, that you need to rent the complete kit and pay the full price even though you already have the skis and batons. (In the end we didn't even use the batons and skis as they didn't have the right size!!!) There were a few little points like this throughout our stay which left us feeling the hotel was trying to squeeze every little last CHF out of us.... Without this, I'd have given them an excellent.

During our search for a hotel in Switzerland that was both in nature and still close to a city, we stumbled upon this hotel and we were pleasantly surprised. When we contacted the hotel to inquire about availability of rooms, they sent us a clear offer with the floor plan of the room attached to the email and they clearly responded to any and all of our questions and queries. The chat mechanism on their website was effective in answering all my questions, displaying good customer care . Calling on the phone was also effective as they were responsive. They provided all our needs through providing a spacious apartment around 70 square meters with one and a half bathrooms and a two bedroom along with a sofa bed. It could fit up to five guests . All this helped me choose this hotel in addition to the location and views. Their booking conditions were very clear in terms of cancellation of bookings and eased our process of decision. The interior is newly renovated with a modern and clean style. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the manager who was fully prepared with information pamphlets and hotel Keys once we arrived and he offered to provide free access to the underground parking to use the elevator to transport our luggage and helped us with anything we needed. The hotel was very proactive with their responses when we had to notify we would arrive later than expected and even offered to provide dinner. Our first impression made us feel at ease due to their warm hospitality. The hotel felt cozy and quaint with a fireplace in the lobby, a children’s playroom, restaurant, bar, outdoor seating, a playground and a fondue hut to ensure no guests were disturbed by the smell of the cheese. The building consist of three stories and designed as a classic Swiss mountain chalet with the third floor including only apartments.
The hotel is located about 10 minutes away by car from the main city of Gstaad but is far away enough to experience the nature. No matter where your room is you will be provided with stunning views, with a plethora of outdoor activities. The location is perfect for a hiking and cycling lovers. You get a magnificent view of the mountains and a waterfall right from your balcony. You can have a balance of activity as well as tranquility based on your preference as a visitor. The hotel provides e-bike rentals as well as a custom hotel itinerary that had activities set for each day of the week for anyone who wanted to participate. We did opt to join in on the seilpark experience which we had to drive to. On the day we left they provided sandwiches as we were leaving early in the morning. Another positive aspect was the fact that they are a pet friendly hotel.

This was a most wonderful week in the Alpenland. We traveled with our dog, as many other guests did. There was always a quiet atmosphere to enjoy--beautiful setting of the hotel right next to a nature preserve, excellent food with varying four-course menus every evening, wonderfully furnished rooms and impeccable service. Very beautiful location with a view of the mountains and a raised moor. The hotel itself is stylishly furnished with light wood, the usual Alpine decor is missing, which is pleasant. The food is beautifully presented and tastes great. The staff is friendly and helpful. Because of a concert in the Lauenen church, we were able to eat a little earlier and were then chauffeured there and back by the manager. Many thanks!

The hotel is in an exceprtionally beautiful spot overlooking the mountains, with great walks straight from the hotel. Our room was very spacious and comfortable with a balcony. Lovely meals were served on the outside terrace. The staff are professional and friendly and manage to create a special atmosphere. It is pretty expensive, as is most of Switzerland, so we only stayed for 2 instead of 3 nights.

From A to Z simply excellent and fully geared towards the guest. Even our two Bernese Mountain dogs each had a bed that they enjoyed very much from day one. The cuisine and service was at its finest with a matching drop of wine from the diversity of Switzerland.

An all around successful stay. Our dog was welcome. He was given a bed, food bowl, drying towel, Robbi dog sack and treats. The room was appealing, the beds comfortable. The food was good. The service excellent, the staff always friendly. Plus the sauna for sole use, what more could you want. We were thrilled.

World class service hotel Our rental car was facing issue and could not start in front of hotel. It almost spoilt our holiday. Kudos to great service from gentleman that went above and beyond, he helped us to fixed car issue with mechanic and drove car back to parking lot by the time we check in after exhausting full day drive.
