Spent 1 night here with my husband to attend the Elton John concert. On first impressions the room is very clean and extremely spacious which was a nice surprise. Tye room had iron/board, hairdryer and coffee making facilities. The view from our room was of a roof, but this didn't bother us as we were not here to take in the scenery. The receptionist upon arrival was lovely and friendly and check in was quick and easy. The bed was ok, I'm personally used to a bigger bed so felt squashed but I think its a double standard size. The reason for 3 stars, Our door didn't lock when leaving. We only realised this the morning after on our way to breakfast. So all last night when we were out our possessions were at risk. Reported to the receptionist. Felt the doors should be checked everyday when being cleaned to make sure they're working. Breakfast was absolutely awful. The food in general was ok...it was edible. BUT we had nowhere to sit. The dining room was small and rammed. They had to open a meeting room for guests to eat in. However we had to eat in the reception area on our laps. We eventually decided to rest our food on the kallax type unit. Others eating in reception were not to lucky. See photos. Taxis in this area are a joke. Delta taxis were awful. They were constantly late (over 45 mins) then said they couldn't find us due to a road closure. We gave up and it took ages to book another taxi. Delta taxi was also pre booked 3 hours in an advance.....!…
We were very pleased with the hotel as it was clean, comfortable and our room was very spacious. The staff and welcome were great and the breakfast very good. We were on our way to the Liverpool port so it made an ideal stop for us. Don’t be put off by the location. We don’t have a sat nav so found it tricky to get to. However the location is quiet, parking good and free! Recommend and good value.
Hotel is in the middle of an industrial estate next to a very busy dual carriageway but do not let that put you off. Couldn't hear any traffic when window was closed. Was given a very friendly welcome. Room was quite large with double bed and double sofa bed. Bed and pillows very comfy, lots of soft towels, tea and coffee. Breakfast was excellent, not a full hot buffet but still plenty to choose from. We stayed 2 nights, very easy to get to motorway to visit Cheshire and North Wales. All the staff we met were very welcoming and friendly, a real asset to the place. At the price we paid I wasn't expecting it to be so nice. Can't wait to return!
Stayed for 2 nights for visit to The Grand National. Booked 3 rooms. Taxi to the National, amazing (hotel has a special phone for this, like the bat phone!) and 10 minutes away - £20 with tip. First night had meal - about £65 for 4. Curry, salad, rice, naan and 2 puddings. Really fine, hot and fresh salad ingredients. Plenty. Breakfast was great: Kelloggs cereals, yogurt, fruit and then basic hot stuff. Also nice toast with butter and apricot jam. Took my own Rington's tea bag and perfect breakfast was sealed! Nice seating areas and staff were fantastic. Parking easy and free. Rooms were hotel standard and extremely clean. Overall this was a fab place and we'd definitely recommend and use again. Thank you!
We asked for a twin room, when we got our room we had a double bed. Wasn’t really an issue, but out of coincidence we found a couple staying at this hotel who said they had a twin room when they asked for a double, they said they were changed when they asked. The tap in our room was faulty and barely had any water coming out, had to turn the tap quite a lot for a bit of dribble. Our tv also didn’t work, we had no signal so we were unable to put tv on or music. Staff are friendly and there are vending machines at reception. There’s a lift that can take a while to get to you but it does the job The location is a bit out the way from the city centre, however we got Uber and it was just under £20. The couple we saw said they were able to get a bus into town too.
Having tickets for an evening kick off which would mean a 9.30 PM finish and not wanting a 4 - 5 hour return north we choose to stay at this hotel. We arrived after 4 PM and were made very welcome by the friendly and attentive staff. It was explained that breakfast would be served from 06.30 but we knew we would be travelling North way before that to get back for the start of the working day. The room i was allocated was on the second floor and was very quiet and well equipped for a budget hotel. It was only a 15 minute drive to Anfield and we returned to the hotel before 10 PM. There was space in the car park and the hotel was very quiet. I got a really good nights sleep despite needing to get up at 5 AM to get ready to drive North. We checked out at 05.30 and the receptionist who was also working on getting the hot items ready for breakfast was very friendly and apologised for not being able to offer any hot food to go but showed us the cold food and the coffee machine inviting us to have a takeaway coffee and a cold selection which we did and enjoyed it on route North. Checking out could not have been simpler. Overall I enjoyed the stay and the hotel is located close to the motorway but set away in an industrial estate but well signposted. It satisfied our needs for the night.…
We stayed overnight after the football which was a cheap and easy taxi ride in and out of Liverpool. The hotel has a phone in the lobby straight to a local firm. The staff here are absolutely fantastic and couldn't be more helpful with everything. They serve a limited menu in the evening which was handy and breakfast was ok too. Plenty of parking. Only downside was kids had to share a double bed rather than single beds so would get two rooms next time.
Didn’t think it would be this basic. Asked for a quiet room knowing that it was at a busy junction didn’t get and was put right next to lift! Please do not eat there, waiting time ridiculous and when we finally got our microwave food it was cold!!! Couldn’t walk our as you have to pay up front!
I have just returned from a 2 night stay in this hotel and have been so thoroughly impressed with how welcoming and fantastic my experience has been from the staff at Holiday Inn Express M57! Zoe & Julie (working the evenings 26,27th Jan) felt more like friends from the very moment I checked in, their warm welcome; consistently going the extra mile for me and taking the time to talk to me and make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed and beyond! Zoe and Julie took a genuine interest in the business event for which my company had hired a conference room and did so much above and beyond we honestly felt like we were at home with friends at all times. A special mention to Zoe for everything she did for me personally and how well I felt looked after. Thank you so much! The hotel is very respectful of social distancing and covid guidelines, food is always hot when served and all utensils and cutlery are clean and available. Rooms are comfortable and do what they say on the tin! Room/maid service is to a very high standard. I had one very small issue after my first night (kettle was not working-these things happen!) and the lovely lady at reception could not have been more apologetic and helpful in resolving this instantly. 5/5 will definitely be staying again!…
I only stayed one night as part of a work trip however can say this was a far better experience than I was expecting. The staff on the front desk were fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful. The room itself was clean, quite spacious and comfortable. I did manage to have a quick bite to eat on the night and it was OK. Unfortunately I did miss breakfast due to the time I had to be at work so can't really comment on that. All in all though if I need to stop over again I certainly wouldn't complain about staying here
