Gastropub with rooms. What a delightful find. The food was absolutely superb and the pub is within walking distance of Great Missenden and all things Roald Dahl. It's a great place for lovely walks in the Chilterns too. The rooms are good. If you're touchy about noise, ask for one at the back (modern part) as the olde worlde ones...

We picked the Nags Head for location, small number of rooms and it was a genuine restaurant. The room had great character and all you need. Service with a smile from all the team and it was genuine. We looked for to the evening meal which was superb. Thoroughly recommend for business or pleasure and looking forward to staying again.

Stayed here for a couple of nights over our Son's marriage. Lovely rooms, although one has really low medieval doorways, so watch your head. Ate lunch here twice and both times the food was great. The staff really are happy and friendly which is delightful. Can't recommend the Nags Head strongly enough.

A lucky find for us as we returned from a weekend away. We drove past this charming inn and decided to try for a Sunday lunch. Fortunately there was a 2 hour slot available as we were early. The staff were very friendly & enthusiastic. The menu had all the normal choices of roasts and a vegetarian option, the wine...

Stayed at The Nags Head in June 2016. Food was truly magnificent. Bedroom very comfortable. Would stay here again. Breakfasts are excellent with plenty of choice and served at your table. Evening meals were of the highest quality including partridge, pork, beef etc. Wine list is excellent. Nags Head is 15th century and has oak beams.

We needed to find a place to stay and this place was recommended to book. We got the last remaining room and didn't think further. Once we arrived we felt it was brilliant. The staff from the moment we ran in and needing to leave as quickly as possible were friendly and helpful. This did not change for the whole...

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday last month as he has always wanted to go to the Roald Dahl museum since he was a youngster so being it was a bit of a special occasion I decided to go for this hotel. We were NOT disappointed in the slightest. From arriving on the Friday night til leaving late Saturday...

Very nice dinner. Rather quiet for a Saturday which was pleasant since we got good service and never felt rushed. Typical gastro pub type menu, having an varied a la carte as well as a specials menu. Good choices. Very nice prosecco served too!

The Nags Head has good food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, nice Chiltern Hills setting, reasonable prices. No negatives. Visited several times for a meal and will do so again in the future. Not stayed overnight.

Predictive text for ladies who lunch, and now that's how nowadays I always think of it. And lust we did -not after some gorgeous guy as we're straight but not laced - but for the restaurant's sublime pate de fois gras. Rich, unctuous it was filling, every mouthful a delight. Preceded by delicate crab and smoked salmon, we were too...
