Stayed over for work, the reception was very nice and shown to the room. Room was great and very tastefully done with all that you would expect in a hotel. Comfy bed with nice breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Decided to stay overnight before a meeting nearby, and arrived (Sunday) at 5pm to find the restaurant packed and very busy; booked a table for 6.30pm (last orders at 6.45pm on Sundays), and went upstairs to a 'recently modernised room 5', ie grey carpet, dark grey striped curtains with eyes on rail, light grey walls, rather black petite bathroom (nb...

Stayed overnight 13/14th October 2016 to attend The British Masters Golf Comp. We had a lovely comfortable stay. Staff (especially John) were helpful and hospitable, The Food was Excellent, Lunch, Dinner and finally Breakfast, Highly recommend. There are always negatives but the positives far out weighed them. Thank you.

We chose this Hotel as it was close to an event we were attending in nearby Kop Hill, we were not disappointed our room had everything we required and was very quirky and comfortable. The restaurant food was lovely and the breakfast was very well cooked. They have an excellent chef as both nights we were served excellent quality food...

The garden is lovely to sit in on a fine summer evening. The food we ordered was very good. Excellent menu and wine lists to choose from. We were all very happy. Those of us who stayed there were also very happy with the accommodation.

Really lovely little pub/hotel, we have stayed there a few times now and really enjoyed ourselves. The food is outstanding, the rooms are small but very clean and met all our needs. The staff are friendly and helpful, we will always go back when we can.

We went there for lunch. There were 3 of us and we all thought our food was brilliant. I had the spinach & pea risotto, my friends had the sea bass and the duck and we were all delighted with food. The service was very good and we very much enjoyed ourselves.

The roast meals were delicious with generous servings. Lots of roast potatoes and crispy Yorkshire pudding. Unfortunately with two sittings we felt we were pushed to eat-up; not helped when we ordered dessert, which came after a wait of 20 minutes, to be told that the next booking had arrived.. The staff were pleasant and patient with our large party...

Given the Michelin listing and the reputation we (3 of us) were slightly disappointed with a couple of relatively small aspects of our Sunday lunch (2 * Lamb and one Haddock followed by a Creme Brulee and coffee). We all enjoyed the vegetables but my (tasty) lamb had a few small 'gristly' bits and my wife's haddock was just a...

I picked this pub at random for an overnight stay and dinner. The room was lovely, with great character and all you need in a room. Comfy bed, Kettle with tea/coffee/ biscuits etc. Mineral water and glasses. Toiletries in clean (small but acceptable for couple) bathroom. TV. Wi-fi. We hadn't booked dinner, not knowing when we would arrive but they...
