#1 of 3 hotels in Gragnano
Travellers' Choice
Villa Le Zagare, charming manor house for unforgettable stays, is strategically located in Gragnano, famous for its Pasta factories, between the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento Peninsula. Come, stay and enjoy the best that the area has to offer from Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius, to Capri, Amalfi and Sorrento. We really recommend to taste the famous Pasta of Gragnano at our restaurant thanks to our Chef's skills. Surrounded by a Mediterranean garden where you can relax on sunny days, it is the ideal location for leisure or business. In addition to this, our professional and polite staff members take care of all your requests.

Hotel's Favourite
Very nice hotel in the typical southern Italian style, with big private parking in the hills nearby the Amalfi coast. Great service and very nice personnel, always happy to help you and bring you to the nearest railway station. Very tasty breakfast, nice drinks and cocktails and the menu for dinner is superb. The garden is typically southern, very well maintained and with a beautiful swimming pool (only available if no wedding is organized). However we could use the jacuzzi in the wellness instead the day of a wedding party. Overall we had a lovely time when visiting Amalfi coast area.

Very large, very grand hotel set in the hills in the country. Large rooms, quiet atmosphere. Staff was crisp and efficient. Hotel had a number of conference halls as well as a large outdoor swimming pool. Beautiful grounds. Meals were served a one of the catering halls. A bit too impersonal and starkly white. Meals served were pre-ordered by tour company and the waitstaff were not very good at making alterations.

To be fair the food was ok so one star,I traveled with a group four of us singles and paid a large single supplement for four star accommodation. At check in I was taken to a separate building , my four star room contained a bed a chair and some Ikea style open shelves a rail so high I could not reach the hangers and scuffed walls,I protested it was not four star , the reply “ it’s a single room “ I was told all four of us were in the same building , I checked and found the other three had very nice double rooms in the main hotel !!!!!! Hence the single supplement . I got managerial staff in the morning and complained again, “ how did I know he other three were in the main hotel?” I replied I had asked them and added that some of the staff were around me and repeated I had payed the supplement ,the reaction “ oh you are right we are so sorry “repeatedly . I would never stay in this hotel again .

The hotel is beautiful and has a lovely decor. Our room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The rooms were very quiet and there was little noise from the wedding reception The staff were very helpful and pleasant The breakfast was good, but you do need to request a cappuccino if you want a nice coffee. There was a wedding in the afternoon (Monday) that we stayed so we could not use the pool or gardens, which was disappointing with it being so hot. There was information about the pool times, but I had not really read it as 9am to 12noon, I thought this was a typo as I have never known a pool only to be open for 3 hours. I have read other reviews and this seems to be the norm with weddings being held frequently. On Tuesday there was yet again another wedding so we had to leave the pool area at 12pm There is a ridiculous rule to wear swimming caps in the pool (€3 for two caps). I asked why and it was due to hair loss in the pool. The fact there is not a shower to wash before going in the pool seems irrelevant. The hotel needs to rethink this policy. This is a fabulous hotel, but as mentioned by many reviewers it is catered towards functions, not guests.

We stayed here for two nights in June 2018 with a Trafalgar Best of Italy tour. Wow! What an amazing experience. After traveling all around Italy for two weeks and Europe for even longer, this was one of the best hotels I stayed at. First off, the rooms are great. The beds are large (uncommonly so for Europe) and the linens were comfortable. The room was HUGE and very clean. The balcony... I'm swooning just remembering it. You will LOVE enjoying your morning cappuccino on the balcony with Vesuvius in the background. I will concede that the shower was teeny tiny- I'm a bigger girl at 5 foot and 214 lbs and I could barely fit inside! But the water was nice and hot and the bathroom was very clean, and other than the shower area very spacious. The windows were so wonderful- four or five just in our room with double shutters so we could enjoy a view or a breeze. We enjoyed a dinner and a breakfast at the hotel and both were delicious, as was the wine. The service was excellent and everyone was very kind when I spilled my water at dinner not once, not twice, but THREE times! Oops! Sadly, we didn't get to use to the pool either night because both nights a wedding was being hosted at the hotel and the pool was in use for that (so keep that in mind if you are traveling on a weekend), but the grounds were lovely and from what I could see the pool looked amazing. Oh, and did I mention the gorgeous lobby with the most amazing chandelier? The staff even welcomed us with a lemon juice drink of some kind. My entire stay, all I could think of when seeing this hotel and its brightly colored tile flooring and orange bedspread was "this place is a Mediterranean Dream." I would return to Italy and spend two weeks just at this hotel. Can't recommend enough!
