Castleoliver farm is a family run business, set on a 17th-century farm estate. The owners Alyce & Michael take great care and pride to present the best possible experience of luxury self catering in Ireland to all our guests. It is a charming, enchanting and beautifully restored 400 year old Limerick heritage property, set in a very scenic location on the Cork Limerick border with panoramic views of the Ballyhoura mountains.

This is the third time we have stayed at this lovely farm. We stayed in Black Rock this time, which was warm, light and very homely. As always, all the rooms were clean and had all the facilities we needed. Gorgeous views and walks - we just feel so at home here and Alyce and her family go above and beyond to make us all feel so welcome and comfortable. Our 2 young sons loved the dogs (especially the gorgeous Freya) and enjoyed the space and freedom of the farm. A big bonus for them was seeing the young calves and also having an Easter egg hunt around the grounds! Thank you for having us. The Pipe's will be back soon.xx

I spend a week at Castle Oliver Farm and it did not disappoint. The house we stayed in was beautiful and luxury with a fabulous view. There is so much to do in the area, Castle Oliver Farm being of perfect location to stay in to avail of all Limerick,Munster has to offer. Alice and Michael have beautiful houses and also wonderful dogs.

The Mill cottage was so welcoming when we arrived, it was such a pleasant surprise. The open fire had been lit, coffee and tea were ready for us to pour. The cottage wanted for nothing. Allyce and Michael are the best of hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. Make this a centre for a memorable visit to this part of Ireland. You will not want to leave.

We stayed 6 nights at Millhouse Cottage and could not have asked for anything better for our "Irish Experience"! The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. We were met by the owner's daughter Michelle and chatted with her a minute until she went off to find her mom. Alyce came quickly and greeted us, then took us inside the cottage to show us how some of the things worked (electric, shower, fireplace, etc), some different from the USA. We had 6 wonderful nights and the bed was queen size and comfortable. It is hard to find queen or king size beds in Ireland and it was great to find that this cottage had one. Our morning views were amazing and the weather was great our entire week. Made it hard to come back to 90 degree temps and humidity in the USA! Our hosts were wonderful people and my husband had a good time chatting with their teen grandson Leon. We were greeted by dogs every morning, which we loved! We are animal lovers and were pleased to see dogs and cows just outside our doors. I cannot say anything bad about this place. But if you do not like animals, do not rent this cottage and then complain that they are here! We highly recommend this farm...I am sure any of the 3 rentals are just as wonderful as the one we had. Great base for our day trips to other counties and nice to come back to a fireplace and comfy bed! Thanks to Alyce and Michael for an amazing week!

My cousin and I recently stayed at Blackrock Cottage. The setting was fabulous and we wanted for nothing in the cottage. We had everything we could wish for and more besides. Alyce and Michael are so welcoming and helpful at all times. This is the place to go to get away from it all!

We come back year after year to this lovely idyllic Cottage, we can not fault the high standards Alyce and Michael keep the properties to and their warmth to everyone that stays. (Even putting up with our noisy rabble every year (4 pawed rabble that is)). Ideal as a base to tour around and at the same time nice and quiet if you just want to get away and relax. views are stunning. Looking forward to our 2 weeks holiday again this year.

Our family of 6 and another couple were looking for an experience that the children would cherish. I had not been home to Ireland with our four kids (4-10 years old) yet but now they were at an age to appreciate the trip we were excited to arrange. Castle Oliver farm couldn't have been a better find! A 16th century farm next to a castle in the quiet countryside. It was centrally located in the Irish South so that we could travel to most key attractions within an hour or two drive. The owners (Alyce and Michael) were incredible hosts and would magically appear if there was anything we needed. Michael spent quality time with our son showing him some incredible things (which we will keep secret!) that any boy (or father) could spend hours with. Our sons still go on daily about it. Alyce taught us so much about the area and shared so many great stories and things for our family to do. They made a special effort for our children to watch the cows being moved which is huge for city kids. Facilities are fantastic, clean and equal to any hotel. Alyce always had extras in case we ran out and there was a wonderful welcome care package for our arrival (milk, tea, snacks, etc...) which was so appreciated when we arrived. We definitely plan on coming back and our children ask for this to be an annual holiday to the farm in Ireland. Thank you so much Alyce and Michael for sharing your beautiful farm! The Lawlors from Canada.

If you are looking for a place that oozes charm & character, provides all mod cons and great hospitality, then read on ... Castleoliver Farm is a great find and the place for you! This was our second stay here in so many years - the first time being in Blackrock Cottage and last week in the Coach House. As a party size of 4 adults and 3 children, the Coach House provides exceptional value for money, which more than made up for the extortionate ferry prices charged by the operators during half term. For Alyce and her daughters Shauna and Kristine, nothing was too much and they really are a credit to the farm and tourism in Ireland as a whole (unlike so many other places I've visited around the World including 5 star hotels). As a working farm, the kids loved the atmosphere, playing with the friendly dogs / cats and even helped nurse a calf with a broken leg. And not that security is an issue in these parts but we were reassured by the electronic security gates at the entrance to keep the kids in sight! We loved the Coach House with its stone built walls, high vaulted ceilings & beams and a stove in the living room. But don't be under the impression that this place does not have the usual home comforts. On the contrary, the Coach House includes a jacuzzi, Sky TV, gas central heating, microwave and everything else you would expect. Access to WiFi internet can be gained from the main house but this is not necessarily a bad thing - the last thing you'll be wanting to do is working whilst on holiday! And given the location of Castleoliver this serves as a great hub to visit the Cliffs of Moher, Ring of Kerry, Cork and Dublin with ease. Thank you once again Alyce and we hope to visit your wonderful farm and family again soon.
