Great location close to the slopes, excellent service at the breakfast room. Service at the reception varies from rude to great. Restaurant downstairs does not take reservations for groups under 6 people, so super long queues during high season.
Poor service relative to price of the room. Room service was really lousy. The rooms were not cleaned once during the week. Cleaning was not carried out until it was pointed out. the staff was clearly not interested in the customer’s needs. No to go...
The hotel was quite nice and functional, our room had a decently sized balcony and parking was ample (and free!). Breakfast was quite average, the space was a bit cramped even with the staggered timing for guests. What would need more attention were the check-in and breakfast booking practicalities - when we arrived, we were looking at a huge line to the reception and used a self-service check-in kiosk, got our keys and were happy. On our way to dinner, by chance we spotted a note about having to reserve a table for the breakfast (due to the staggering), which was a surprise since there was no info about this at the check-in kiosk. After standing in line to reception this was resolved, but could've been a lot smoother.
This hotel os situated perfectly if you like to ski (cross-country or downhill) or like to hike in the forrest. Breakfast is included. There is A great gym in the hotel, unfortunately I did not have time to use it. Rooms are nice and not too small.
When you book Sokos hotel break, you’ll have an expectations about the room. But this is not like that. Standart room, bathroom was ok. The room itself was not that clean. Staff was friendly, but thats not enought. Would not stay again. Gym was ok and breakfast was also nice.

This is a great quality hotel in an excellent location. Choose this one if you want to ski, hike or bike. Choose Katinkulta if you wanna play golf and swim. The most important thing was in place: great quslity of sleep here! The bed and the pillow were great, room got full on dark with the curtains, and the walls were thick so no noise. The gym was very good and the complimentary sauna excellent. The breakfast could have been a bit more interesting (or at least they could change it up a few times per week) and they sgould include cleaning in all longer stays at least a few times (no had to be requested). Will be back here some day!
Stayed 3 nights on a road trip in Finland. Hotel is moderate and room was ok, though dusty which we later on realized was consequence of reduction of cleaning services. Spacious balcony was a nice addition. On arrival one bathing towel was missing and half of the glasses/cups were dirty. On 2nd evening we found out there was a new rule that rooms are cleaned during thr stay only upon separate request. Reception never answered the phone so we had to go there and ask for new towels because old ones were already on the floor to be replaced. As we complained about no cleaning the hotel replied it has been mentioned in the room. Yes, finally we noticed it has been mentioned in the veeeery long A4 paper left on the table. Being drastic reduction to ordinary hotel services we would have liked this to be mentioned upon check in and more noticable inside the room. We considered this more a cost saving action than safety measure. Breakfast was very basic. You are suppose to pick your time slot beforehand and but there is no follow up. I would recommend the hotel if you are there to do the sports but make sure you ask for cleaning for each day.…
Rather big hotel, located relatively close to the down-hill skiing slopes. Cross-country skiing starts just behind the hotel. Room are functional but nothing special, sauna is simple and rather small, reception staff are ok. It has two restaurants: Amarillo (bad quality, unfriendly staff) and Kippo (good and atmospheric).
A nice hotel. The room was clean and otherwise the place looks fine and kept care of. The bed was large and good (not too soft). The breakfast area is however rather small and badly designed. Though the breakfast itself was fine. The hotel is a bit away from the ski slopes, but very close to the cross-country ski tracks.
